I'm glad Sharmell showed up with Booker. Her and Karen are reminiscent of the old school managers wrestling used to have, rather than the typical interchangable models they have now.
-
Yep.. fans voted her in(who obvisouly liked her), but WWE likes their generic white blonde bitches.... To be fair they have pushed women in the past who aren't the typical generic blonde (Lita, Chyna, Candice, Melina). I even remember something about Angel Williams (who is the typical blonde with big boobs) being let go partly because she was too generic looking and they didn't think she'd stand out. In fact, I think nowadays a girl in WWE has more chance of succeeding if she isn't a typical blonde diva.
-
World White Entertainment. Seriously though, they liked Kristal enough and apparently wanted her to pose for playboy at one time. So I don't know why they'd be willing to push her so much if they had a problem with her being black.
-
It is a bit odd for them to say she doesn't have the right look to be a diva. She's pretty enough and has had the mandatory boob job, so what's wrong with her?

What with the departure of Brooke Adams the extreme expose act appears to be through. Unless of course Adams is replaced by diva search winner Eve Torres, who has a dance background similar to Layla because she was a member of the Los Angeles clippers dance team. Layal and Kelly accompianed Miz to matches at houseshows over the weekend but on Tuesday's ECW show it appeared they were broken up because they wrestled each other. Although the compnay word on Layla is that if extreme expose is broken up Layla will be repackaged and given a new role in the company. But the problem is that many of the talent who are put on the repackaging list are usually never heard from again because they are released soon after. Vito is a good example of that. It's doubtful that repackaging Layla is a top priority for anyone in the company. The office was never big on Laya because her look isn't really want they want out of their divas. However she got over in the 2006 Diva Search and they went by the honest results and gave her a WWE contract. Furthermore. Laya doesn't have a wrestling spot to fall back on in case the dancing team gets dropped because she was never given time on the road to practice her in ring skills at house shows wrestling observer newsletter

OAO 11/05 Raw Thread...... no longer thinking about "Y2J"
Atticus Chaos replied to Boxer's topic in The WWE Folder
Yeah, but sometimes it can sound so blatantly obvious you're reading from one. Santino's lines are scripted, but his delivery is so good it doesn't sound like they are. -
I wonder if TNA could benefit from this.

OAO 11/05 Raw Thread...... no longer thinking about "Y2J"
Atticus Chaos replied to Boxer's topic in The WWE Folder
Austin got totally showed up on the mic by Santino. Austin used to be a really great talker too, he's just flatly reading from a script now and saying one catchphrase after an other. -

More on this....I'm not sure about the union supporting other union ideas. From what I heard some of the other unions are considering suing the WGA. <a href="http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/" target="_blank">http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/</a> NBC fires 102 workers from The Office Excerpts from an e-mail from Dale Alexander, a key grip on NBC's "The Office": "Our show was shut down and we were all laid off this week. I've been watching the news since the WGA strike was announced and I have yet to see any coverage dedicated to the effect that this strike will have on the below the line employees. "I respect the WGA's position. They probably do deserve a larger percentage of profit participation, but a lengthy strike will affect more than just the writers and studios. On my show we had 14 writers. There were also 2 cameramen, 2 camera assistants, 4 hair stylists, 4 makeup artists, 7 wardrobe people, 4 grips, 4 electricians, 2 craft service, 4 props people, 6 construction, 1 medic, 3 art department, 5 set dressers, 3 sound men, 3 stand-ins, 2 set PAs, 4 assistant directors, 1 DGA trainee, 1 unit manager, 6 production office personnel, 3 casting people, 4 writers assistants, 1 script supervisor, 2 editors, 2 editors assistants, 3 post production personnel, 1 facilities manager, 8 drivers, 2 location managers, 3 accountants, 4 caterers and a producer who's not a writer. All 102 of us are now out of work. "I have been in the motion picture business for 33 years and have survived three major strikes. None of which have been by any of the below the line unions. During the 1988 WGA strike many of my friends lost their homes, cars and even spouses. Many actors are publicly backing the writers, some have even said that they would find a way to help pay bills for the striking writers. When the networks run out of new shows and they air repeats the writers will be paid residuals. The lowest paid writer in television makes roughly twice the salary than the below the line crewmember makes. Everyone should be paid their fair share, but does it have to be at the expense of the other 90% of the crewmembers. Nobody ever recoups from a strike, lost wages are just that, lost. "We all know that the strike will be resolved. Eventually both sides will return to the bargaining table and make a deal. The only uncertainty is how many of our houses, livelihoods, college educations and retirement funds will pay for it." --Maria Elena Fernandez

- The "one night only" DX reunion on Raw last week was Vince McMahon's way to appease USA Network boss Bonnie Hammer (who favors the stars she is familiar with from 1998-2001). - JBL appears to be gearing up for a return to the ring. He has lost 25-30 pounds, and is down to about 270 lbs. wrestling observer newsletter

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
Atticus Chaos replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
He did interviews directly after the Benoit incident where he was quite critical of WWE. I remember he even had a go at Jericho for towing the company line. So, why ask to be blacked out now? -
Lena Yada has signed a contract according to her website. She'll be a backstage interviewer for ECW.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
Atticus Chaos replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
Why is Lance going to insist on being blacked out? Whoever asked obviously wants to be employed by WWE in the future, Lance isn't that eager to get back with them. -

No way is Edge dumb enough to do something like that. Anaywa didn't they say it was a former employee? -

Dynamite kid's line about not being violent and the gun was classic. I feel really bad for Michael Benoit since he's obviously blaming himself for encouraging Benoit to wrestle. A columnist over at wo.com basically told the truth though when he said Benoit would have pursued his wrestling dream regardless of whether his father approved or not. -
Mickie did wear furry boots once, and this apparently started a huge fight with Melina. She's very protective of the furry boots gimmick, it seems.

It's been suggested the studios actually wanted a strike to happen- in a bid to break the union. The fact that the WGA withdrew the dvd increase demand, but they still refused to talk makes me think it's true. I remember reading about one studio head (can't remember who) who even said he'd be grateful not to have to deal with all the fuss of pilot season next year.

What with Kristal Marshall's release from WWE a few weeks ago, it looks like the planned Vickie Guerrero storyline has been dropped. Original plans for the storyline called for Vickie & Kristal to find out that Theodore Long had a heart condition and to conspire to work together to get him to take Viagra to trigger a heart attack so that Vickie could be the lone General Manager on SmackDown. Instead, Vickie will simply be a babyface General Manager that stands up to men. Also, there's no word yet on what they're going to do with Theodore Long. They were giving health updates on Long, but they stopped doing that after a week or two. Long was assured that he wasn't going to be dropped as a television character. wrestling observer newsletter

Great article from the guardian I agree that this strike, even if they get everything they want will mostly benefit the rich writers anyway. If you're writing a successful show like lost or heroes, you'll get rewarded well anyway. Money from DVDs are only a bonus (even with the 4 cents deal, they still make a fortune I expect). I sympathise with the WGA but I'd prefer it if they tried to improve things for the Guild writers who CAN'T currently make a good living, rather than those who can.
-
That'll go down well with the writer's guild. They're on the warpath as it is.

New Joss Whedon Show Starring Eliza Dusku
Atticus Chaos replied to BlackFlagg's topic in Television & Film
I thought Joss vowed to never work with fox again? -
All of HBK's work in the Hogan match and I think Orton's selling of the SCM has been great. Oh, and RVD taking Dreamer's piledriver is just so utterly beyond belief. I still don't even know how that was physically possible.

Who's Beth going to feud with now? Mickie seems to be the only option.

It sounds like the NWO storyline. I keep saying if TNA was this interesting on screen, ratings and PPV buyrates would be a lot higher. Seriously, they should write this in (but don't make it too smarky or the casual fans won't get it)
