WWE General Discussion for August 2007
Atticus Chaos replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
I was thinking Kristal dumps Teddy at the altar, he's so heartbroken he can't continue so Vickie takes over. Which was Kritstals' plan all along. -
If Romney got the nomination (not unthinkable at this point) I'd be interested to see whether or not the people in the red states would be willing to vote for a mormon. If he was up against Clinton, they probably would see him as the lesser of two evils. Obama or Edwards might be a different story though. I think if Hillary has any hope of winning any state other than the ones Kerry won, she has to understand that part of her appeal is the idea that Bill will be 'guiding' her if she is elected as president. In essence, they want a third Bill Clinton term. She's been so preoccupied with not being seen as 'soft' or 'weak' because she's a woman, that at this point, she just comes off as too stubborn and headstrong to listen to anyone, even her husband.
-
Going by the last election, Hillary would only need roughly 60 million votes to win. I think she could get that.

General says draft still an option Hmm....this might be the one to end the war for sure. The mere notion that any of their precious children or grandchildren will be forced to go fight an unwinnable war will get congress to pullout so fast it'll make your head spin.

I think Barack's involvement in the race will go down as a huge help to Hillary in years to come. If she'd had just picked up the nomination with ease (like she was set to do before he got involved) people would've resented her for it and she wouldn't have stood a chance against Giuliani or whoever she was up against. But after he announced he was running, she really had to step up her game and, compared to Obama, has shown herself to be extremely serious and competent candidate. It's possible Obama will be president one day, but probably not 2008. The main problem is he's got bucket loads of charisma, but not enough experience and everyone knows it. He's got a lot to work with, and in 8 or so years he can only improve on the qualities he has. I don't know if he'll still want the job a nearly a decade down the line but I wouldn't count him out. Even if he doesn't get the nomination, I doubt we'll have heard the last of him.

WWE General Discussion for August 2007

I thought it was the dove of peace. And Orton crushing it was like a declaration of war or something. -
She's getting off easy compared to Rudy's.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
Atticus Chaos replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
Well, at least one person knew he was convinced someone was following him as well. I have to wonder why Regal or anyone who knew about this paranoid behaviour didn't alert someone or voice their concerns about Benoit to management. You get that a lot in situations where some guy snaps and kills a bunch of people. After it happens there are always people lining up to say how crazy the perp was, how paranoid he was acting and how it was obvious they were a ticking time bomb. Except nobody cared enough to do anything about it at the time. It's very frustrating. -
The warehouse fight in the Protector was terrific. I don't know if it's just me but the They Live fight has always been pretty meh to me.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released

In the latest WON, Dave mentions how the reason William Regal's segment of the Benoit tribute was so odd was that seconds before he sat down to tape it, JBL asked him if he thought Benoit had anything to do with killing the boy. That alone seems to reveal that A. it wasn't the big shock "we never saw this coming" WWE wants to spin it as (which isn't exactly news, but it seems to indicate that people outside of Chris's WCW associates thought something was possible) and B. when you watch Regal's comments you're basically seeing someone mentally putting 2 and 2 together while trying to say nice things for a tribute show. Certainly explained his increasing "oh shit" face throughout. Regal and Benoit hadn't been close for some time, due to issues related to Benoit's divorce. Benoit was pretty weird to Regal, to boot, once asking him to come over and watch some AJPW, then refusing to let him in when he showed up. Anyway, Regal and Benoit's relationship was pretty much purely professional by that point and Regal was set to go on the air and talk about Benoit in general terms anyway when JBL stopped him in the hall and asked Regal if he thought Benoit had anything to do with what happened. -
Bobby Lashley has surgery on his shoulder two days ago in Birmingham, AL. I haven't gotten a full report of the doctors findings yet but have been told that they went in looking for a rotator cuff injury and found something else which was also said to be serious. He will be out of action for at least a month and I have been told it will most probably be longer than that. We will post more information as soon as we get it. pwinsider anyone know anything more?

I think Fred Thompson is being pretty shrewd here. He's biding his time and letting the other candidates self distruct (Giuliani, McCain). As for Giuliani, the fact that his kids hate him, won't vote for him, and barely talk to him at all looks especially bad when you compare to it to Romney and his brady bunch like home life (married to his high school sweetheart for 40 years, five all american sons..etc). Personally, I think the smartest thing Rudy can do right now is get his kids back on his side.

The USA network is becoming increasingly concerned with the recent ratings dip on Raw. So much so that Bonnie Hammer has been more involved in sending in ideas to the company. Storyline ideas, requests to bring back more stars like Austin and Mankind, and as one person put it "more Vince Russo style shows". Vince McMahon has been somewhat lukewarm but supportive of the ideas, while Stephanie McMahon as head of creative is not taking them seriously at all. Hammer wants more storylines like the Vince's Limo storyline, so the viewer seems to be watching an action show rather than a sports entertainment program. There had been a major push from within USA to extend Raw to 3 hours, no word on how the ratings slip has affected those wishes. pwinsider audio

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
Atticus Chaos replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
Dr. Kris Sperry determined that Chris Benoit had no noticeable health issues aside from high blood pressure and endocrine damage. He was suffering from testicular failure. Benoit apparently destroyed his dairy and Nancy's diary. Dr. Gary Walder, a member of the World anti-doping agency said, "The WWE testing program - it doesn't even approximate what I call a meaningful testing program." Dr. Walder is considered one of the country's major experts on the subject. In addition to Marc Mero, Jim Ross, and Fit Finlay attending the funeral for Nancy and Daniel Benoit, TNA ring announcer David Penzer and Pam Clark (the wife of Brian Hildebrand) also attended the service. wrestling observer newsletter -

WWE General Discussion for July 2007
Atticus Chaos replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
There are tentative plans to retire the WWE Cruiserweight title (hence Hornswoggle winning it, burying the title) and setting up a more serious, pushed TNA-like 'X-Division' and new title belt, with the division having a new name other than 'cruiserweights' and 'light heavyweights'. wrestling observer newsletter -
Lindsay Lohan Booked On Suspicion of DUI

I don't know if this has been mentioned here, but I've heard part of the reason these girls don't get a chauffer at night is because they don't want someone around to see what they're getting up to. -
New trailer for Christian's movie http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Qi5hiF4XvGE He seems to have a pretty big part in it.

Lindsay Lohan Booked On Suspicion of DUI
Atticus Chaos replied to haVoc's topic in Television & Film
It's possible that she still has most of her money but that someone (a guardian or relative) is keeping the it from her. She could be broke, I suppose. But she earns around 5-10 million dollars a movie or something. It's hard to believe she's went through that much money in such a short period of time. I know a coke habit is expensive, but c'mon... -
Bonnie Hammer submitting ideas to Vince
Atticus Chaos replied to Atticus Chaos's topic in The WWE Folder
Essentially, yes. The Sable character reflected a post-feminist viewpoint of women "taking control of their own sexuality." The pussycat dolls argue that as well. Funny how their intepretation of "taking control of their sexuality" happens to be the one thing that fufills the fantasies of most men and teenage boys and rakes them in pots of cash. I mean, I don't have a problem with the divas using T&A to make a living, I just wish they wouldn't call it feminism or pretend it's not degrading. -
Torrie Wilson up close won't be a pretty sight. I've spoke to people that have met her and they all agree she looks about 45 when you see her in person.

I think Martin Sheen had a pretty good comment on this. He was discussing Lindsay's probems in relation to his son's. “The bottom line is you have to get through the entourages that surround these celebrities who are spinning out of control. They [entourages] don’t want to let it go, this is their meal ticket. I literally disarmed them. Some of them had guns, literally. [As a parent] you get in there and fight for life. You get between her and the grave and you say…I won’t allow it.” She's probably surrounded by people who want her to stay as drugged up as possible, so she keeps partying while they take advantage. It's not in their interests for her to sober up and sort out her life. -
Who do you want to win the WWE Championship Match at SummerSlam?
Atticus Chaos replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in The WWE Folder
Edge was named as well, and they never saw any problem making him champ. Rey's been named twice in steriod investigations and he'll be pushed as a main eventer. I think guys like Khali/Lashley/ Batista are worse PR than Orton in regards to steriods. After all the fuss in the press about road rage you could tune in too raw, see him, and you wouldn't immediatly think "another guy on steroids" (he may be, but unlike Lashley or the rest it isn't THAT obvious). -

I read one headline that said "MURDERER RAN DRUG EMPIRE". So, Benoit was Tony Montana supposedly. -
