Max Clifford Tells Jade Goody 'enough is enough' You know things are bad when even Max Clifford is getting offended at this.

It should have been Booker. He wasn't exactly main event, but he was higher up than JBL at that point.

I think anytime a young woman with two young children is dying it's sad. I'll give Jade some credit that she had a tough upbringing, a junkie dad, a one armed lesbian mother, no real intelligence, good looks, or any sort of talent and still managed to make herself a millionaire. Sort of inspirational, in a weird way. She is doing a lot of this stuff for her kids. But she has, all her life, been a complete attention whore, and a lot of this is just an extension of that. Even now, she's still concerned about being liked and idolised. That's what the wedding was all about.

Atticus Chaos and Jaxxson Mayhem sound like supervillains.

The version I heard, was that he was cheating on his wife with her, either she found out or he told her, and now he's with her. Although it's possible his wife kicked him out and he wasn't intending to leave her. I don't think it's major NEWZ~ or anything since there's a lot of people that know already and they seem to have gone public with it. I also have to laugh at some of the excuses on the Jericho board: "Maybe "BF" stands for "best friend" in this case"
-
I think these pictures look particularly damning... Even going by the pictures, he clearly never left her side most the night.

Wrecking a family with young children for job security is particularly shitty.

I think Chris might be having a mid life crisis or something. I'm not saying it's okay to have an affair. It's not. But at least keep it at an affair. Chris is pushing forty and he's dumping his family to hook up with a twenty two year old? Yeah, that relationship is going to last.

Jericho and Kelly have been an open secret for a while now. I'm only mentioning it, because they're not hiding it anymore and it's likely going to come out soon anyway. If you don't believe it, fine. We might be inclined to at least find it credible if you would cite the source of this information. I've actually heard it from a few people, but had it confirmed by one person in particular, who I trust because they've been right about these matters, time and time again and know a lot of stuff months before it even comes out due to their various connections. That might still be too vague for people, and I know how flippant it must sound 'well people told me' but it will come out at some point. So, it's fine if people are skeptical about it. They've also been photographed together a lot, as well. Not that's complete proof, of course, but it's worth noting.

The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania Thread
Atticus Chaos replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
Considering they're both heels, I'm not sure where the drawing power is. Especially, if they're fighting over Vickie. -
Yeah, because the idea that any guy in WWE would have an affair is totally out there and unheard of.
-
He was absolutely crap in the ring. His heel character was interesting enough, but he should have stayed as a commentator. He is good at being hated, though: I've heard him referred to as the most hated wrestler on the roster in real life. I don't know how true that is, but it sounds like it could easily be true.

Whedon's shows do quite well on dvd, though. Arrested develpment only stuck around for three seasons because it had strong dvd sales. The emmy recognition helped as well. Fox actually have a history of sticking with shows once they get past the first couple of seasons as well. Mainly because they want enough for syndication.

Heel Characters That You Agreed With?
Atticus Chaos replied to Big Green's topic in General Wrestling
Shawn Michaels during his battles with Hogan. I think with Jericho, it's implied everything he's saying is the truth. Also, during the Khali/Batista feud, I thought Khali came off a lot more sympathetic than Batista did. Batista was a total dick, complaining when Khali won the title fair and square, complaining about not getting his 89th title shot and crashing Khali's celebration party, where everyone was just trying to have a good time. -
There is in New Zealand. Fat Boy Some of those people just hate their kids. I know most of the list I posted was just bad taste, and the people do love their children, they just have shitty taste in names. But if you call your child Fat boy or Number 16 Bus Shelter, you hate that kid. Maybe they're resentful of becoming parents. Anyway from what I understand, some countries have naming lists, some countries you can call them anything but it can't be offensive, some countries, like New Zealand have to approve the name, but let everything but the most ridiculous name go through. America, to my knowledge, only says you can't have a number and it has to be at least two letters. But apart from that you can do anything, hence little Cuntasha.
-
These are ok. I think Jack Welcome is the best. Sounds like a Mortal Kombat fighter. Kammerrone is so bad, because you know that kid is going to spend forever correcting the spelling on his name. Feenix is bad because it shows the parents didn't even care enough to get the spelling right. Same with Synphony. How you can make a lifelong decision for someone and not even check a dictionairy is insane.

What will be the worst movie of 2009?
Atticus Chaos replied to Obi Chris Kenobi's topic in Television & Film
Someone made a montage of Chris Klein's performance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgAiF6GOosc I have to think he knew the movie was shit, and intentionally hammed it up. Even he's not that bad an actor. -
I think there should probably be a law against calling your kids anything too stupid. Or at the very least you should be forced to give a reason for it. Some of these names are going to be impossible to live with. Atticus Chaos and Jack Welcome aren't too bad, because the first names are normal, but I cannot imagine putting Tuprecious or Sir-Lou HenryWinter Ivy on a CV.

I think Dollhouse going on Friday night was probably a good thing. It's doing quite well in the ratings when you factor in DVR, which adds about 30% to it's viewing totals. So, it has about 6 or 7 million viewers now, which is fine for a Friday night show, and it could get renewed if it can stay at that level and imprive. It's doing well on itunes as well. Dollhouse is a cult show, and I think 7 or 8 million views is the best it can hope for. Any other night it would be in trouble, but for Friday it's quite good. If Fox had put in on before 24 like the original plan, at the first sign it would drag down 24's ratings it would have been cancelled, like Drive, because they are protective over 24. Dollhouse doens't need to go into a spot where it will have high expectations, Friday's is good for that.
-
I think they should have made the lead character a male. It's still wrong, but honestly, people would feel less uncomfortable about a guy getting pimped out. Also, a guy doll would probably get more interesting assignments than a female doll would. Less romantic enagements and more action stuff presumably.

When I first heard the premise, I didn't think of the prostitution/rape aspect at all. Or at least, I didn't think it would be that big a deal, but after the first few episodes, it seems to be a major part of what they do, which like you say is realistic. There's no way to get around the fact that rich men would want the dollhouse for sex. Whedon's in a difficult position: he obviously can't glamourise the prostitution aspect of it, but he can't ignore it either. As far as they the rape arguement goes...I would probably say it is rape. I don't think her (slightly forced) consent at the beginning is really an excuse to for dollhouse to do whatever they want with her. But I don't think that will ever be dealt with because it's an entertainment show and it would really make you judge Langton or Topher, if they ever said 'yeah, this is rape but we're participating anyway.'
-
Whedon's been accused of glamourising rape by one or two tv critics. I think that's a bit extreme but I can understand the accusation. Echo may have signed the contract, and even if she was fully aware it would be sex slavery, which is doubtful, she still can't change her mind, can she? And if she ever does become self aware and decide not to do it anymore, they'll kill her. I think Whedon was really drawn to the idea of 'Eliza being a different person every week' but maybe didn't realize how badly received the prostitution aspect of the show would be.

WWE General Discussion - February 2009
Atticus Chaos replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
Lita never had that pretty a face. It didn't help that she seemed to have a lot of work done on her face later on in her career. Many of the divas past and present are very beautiful women. Girls like Stacy and Trish did have successful modelling careers before and after WWE. However, for many of the women, a combination of steroids, too much make up and ridiculously fake looking boobs left them looking like drag queens. I remember powerslam used to joke that the women in WWE never really looked like women at all. I remember Tori, the one with DX, was actually quite freakishly ugly. She'd had so much done on her face at that point, she looked like a cat. Calling her a sex symbol was crazy to me. Girls like Melina and Lita would probably get laughed out of most modelling agencies (Melina, now, because she was quite pretty before the WWE cosmetic surgeons got their hands on her). But I think wrestling fans are just trained to think anyone with huge boobs is hot. -

Here's a clip of his performance. He seems to be really overacting, like, to a ridiculous extent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWGysz8XU90
