Edge hasn't been wrestling the past few weeks due to a fractured jaw, according to Pro Wrestling Insider. He reportedly suffered the injury during his Money in the Bank qualifying match vs. RVD. It is expected that he won't be wrestling until Mania

People in WWE are comparing Batista to Jim Hellwig a lot now. They say he doesn't really love wrestling and simply got in because he had a great body and was well-pushed and well-protected. Triple H is a huge supporter of his and views him as a protege. He was obsessed with getting Batista over in 2005, particularly after his Randy Orton angles failed, because he felt it would be a part of his legacy. Triple H is aware that, from the outside, there is a certain doubt as to how he will be remembered. However, Batista has also developed a star attitude. Things he has said in the Smackdown locker room, plus perceived arrogance and aloofness have hurt his popularity with the rest of the guys, although since he is actually quite a shy person much of that may have been unintentional. The fight with Booker T hurt him a great deal more though. He had been scheduled to win the title back at SummerSlam but Vince McMahon changed that plan and at the time said Batista was never getting the title back at all. This was not because of the fight occurring but because Batista lost it and Vince could no longer personally buy into Batista as a huge tough guy for losing to Booker. Michael Hayes and Dusty Rhodes talked Vince around since Smackdown was in such a bad shape over the summer and Batista still had drawing ability, while Booker was mainly comedy. When the plan worked Vince was prepared to even let Batista go over Undertaker at WrestleMania to 'take him to the next level of stardom', but Batista has made such a bad impression on people during this latest reign that it is very unlikely to extend past Mania. wrestling observer newsletter

WWE Raw’s Road to Wrestlemania Tour: Puerto Rico 03/08/07 Match 3: For the WWE’s women championship Melina defeated Mickie James. During the whole match James sold her neck problems thanks to the botch huracanrana this pasta Monday. Also during the match, James broke her nose. Melina put her hands on the ropes during the final pin. wrestlingobserver.com Either Mickie's extremely clumsy, or Melina's dangerously unsafe..

potentially huge spoilers from TWOP regarding the final 5 take it with a grain of salt..but what this poster says aligns with much of what the tv journalists (who have seen the final 3 episodes) are saying. EDIT:the guys at TWOP were forced to take the spoilers down, which may give them an extra dose of credibility.

Yeah, I know. But that is just bizarre. Who knew having to make out with Vince on screen would actually be a career upgrade?

WWE sources state that Test actually “failed a few tests” and was nearly fired for it in January, but they kept him on to try to help make Lashley. Vince really soured on him during the RVD vs. Lashley vs. Test match on ECW TV where Lashley was supposed to get over huge and instead Test and RVD had to get all their crap in and the match was an utter disaster. Vince figured after the Lashley thing ended, Test just didn’t bring much to the table. from f4w newsletter

I don't think anyone is asking her to know every single detail about WWE. But I think, considering how long she's been there, she should know somethings.. If she's still as ignorant about wwe as when she first started, then she's either very stupid or going out of her way to remain oblivious.

Rob Van Dam, Sandman and Sabu were acting like they were 'personas non grata' and wanted to be anywhere else but there at the 2/20 Smackdown/ECW tapings. Backstage the ECW cast seems to be looked down upon. Matt Striker in particular has significant heat with JBL and was hiding his bags in the dressing room for local extras to keep so that nothing would be done to them. Sabu and Sandman also changed with the extra to avoid the heat. There is also lots of heat on Kelly Kelly due to her complete lack of knowledge about wrestling. She knows nothing about the business and people are complaining about why people like that are with the company, although the people doing the hiring seem to be escaping the blame. None of the other women seem to like Kelly, while most of the guys give her no respect. Joey Mercury is said to be particularly mean about her. wrestling observer newsletter I don't think Kelly's fully to blame for the situation, but she's been with the company for about 8 months now...in that time she could have done some research on the net or read up more on wwe. That she didn't indicates she's getting what she deserves here.

Vince and Shane McMahon recently discussed the possibility of starting a WWE MMA project. Shane is all for it but Vince is colder on the idea. Vince is concerned that the MMA market in the USA is already oversaturated. Shane feels that, apart from UFC, nobody is doing it successfully on an national basis. wrestling observer newsletter

Although not confirmed, according to several sources in contact with the Wrestling-Observer Newsletter, CM Punk earned himself more backstage heat. After learning that he was booked to lose on a house show card, the report says, Punk reportedly asked the road agent if the reports of him being in WWE's doghouse were true. The agent denied the idea that there was heat on Punk, but then told colleagues about the conversation, which exacerbated their ill-feelings of the wrestler. Of course, because wrestlers like Carlito, Rob Van Dam and Shelton Benjamin have received heat for "no-selling" being booked in jobs, one has to wonder if Punk had a viable option in this situation, notes the Observer Lords of pain So, now you get heat for asking if you have heat? Jeez..

Due to poor buyrates and drastic comparisons to UFC Buys. Vince has decided to change the way single brand ppv's are approached. They will still be promoted eg WWE RAW Presents... or WWE Smackdown presents... but they will feature talent from other brands. an example of this is for Backlash, it is a RAW PPV but Lashley, RVD, Batista and Undertaker are scheduled to appear. Dave says the brand split is not being dropped but top talent from each brand will be appearing on other shows very frequently. So it isn't just happening before Mania, it is happening after mania. The main reason for this change is WWE need to have more star power on these ppv shows to make the show worth the money. Stephanie McMahon sent out a memo saying Vince wants more of an emphasis on interbrand matches on PPV Show to open up more potential new matches. wrestling observer newsletter

a funny note from the f4w newsletter Someone said they went to the restaurant after the PPV and Vince and Shane were eating there. So Big Dave shows up in a t-shirt and shorts, in clear defiance of the dress code, and when he sees that they’re eating there he gave the waitress $40 to sit him somewhere where they wouldn’t see him. The idea of Dave Batista trying to duck under a table to hide is a very funny image.

Anyone else think an Edwards/Obama ticket could be a great combination?

Interestingly, the woman king was written by Michael Angeli. The same guy who ghost wrote Chyna's biography. An episode of BSG was written by a wwe writer. Wow. No wonder this episode sucked.

PWTorch.com reports that Big Show turned down two specific WWE deals. He rejected the first, which carried a price tag in the ballpark of his current $1 million/year deal, due to the fact that it required him to wrestle. The wrestler feels physically burned out, and he has no desire to commit to a long-term contract with required in-ring work. WWE also offered Big Show a smaller (but still financially large) deal for his "intellectual property rights," which is essentially a fee to keep Show at home and prevent him from joining a competitor. He rejected that as well, although sources say he has no immediate intentions to join TNA.

Bryan Alvarez is reporting that Jillian Hall's new gimmick is a parody of Brooke Hogan. Vince apparently thinks they look alike and it's to take a shot at Hogan.

In a sci fi portal interview David Weddle said the question still remains on whether this will be a 13-episode season, or a 22-episode season, so it might be longer. They have syndication rights to think about, after all. You need about 90 episodes for that and I think the plan is five seasons only.

Atticus Chaos replied to BUTT's topic in The WWE Folder
As far as I know, he still owns his own comic book store. Surely (since there are people out there who own stores who are doing just fine...without an extra income from somewhere) money shouldn't be a problem. Unless of course he's one of those crazy celeb spenders. Well, weed prices have went up. -
If Hogan joining tna means Russo is forced out, frankly I consider that a worthy trade.

ECW has now become a vehicle to make Bobby Lashley a superstar. Vince McMahon is determined to make Lashley look as strong as possible. The new idea is to make Lashley into an unstoppable, dominant champion. The ECW brand is now the catalyst that gives Lashley the credibility to be one of the company's top stars. ECW as a concept is pretty much dead, only surviving because they have a television commitment on Sci Fi to live up to. The main point of the brand is that when it's all over, Lashley can be moved over to one of the other brands and be seen as an equal to the other world champions. wrestling observer So, ecw will only be around till whenever the contract runs out?

February 03 2007 SATIN TIGHTS NO LONGER. Joss will not be fighting for our rights after all. You (hopefully) heard it here first: I'm no longer slated to make Wonder Woman. What? But how? My chest... so tight! Okay, stay calm and I'll explain as best I can. It's pretty complicated, so bear with me. I had a take on the film that, well, nobody liked. Hey, not that complicated. Let me stress first that everybody at the studio and Silver Pictures were cool and professional. We just saw different movies, and at the price range this kind of movie hangs in, that's never gonna work. Non-sympatico. It happens all the time. I don't think any of us expected it to this time, but it did. Everybody knows how long I was taking, what a struggle that script was, and though I felt good about what I was coming up with, it was never gonna be a simple slam-dunk. I like to think it rolled around the rim a little bit, but others may have differing views. The worst thing that can happen in this scenario is that the studio just keeps hammering out changes and the writer falls into a horrible limbo of development. These guys had the clarity and grace to skip that part. So I'm a free man. Well, sorta. There is that "Goners" movie I can finally finish polishing, and plenty of other things in the hopper I've wanted to pursue. I'm as relieved as I am disappointed, and both of those things lead to drink, so that's a plus. Truly, you may be hearing some interesting things brewing in the coming months. But all potential jets therein will be visible. But most importantly, I never have to answer THAT question again!!!! And you don't have to link to every rumor site! Finally and forever: I never had an actress picked out, or even a consistant front-runner. I didn't have time to waste on casting when I was so busy air-balling on the script. (No! Rim! There was rim!) That's the greatest relief of all. I can do interviews again! Thanks for your time. You are the people who make the world go 'round. Or, no, science does that. -j. ps All right, it was Cobie Smulders. Sorry, Cobes. http://whedonesque.com/comments/12385#more It would be easy to blame WB for this, but by all accounts Joss is a bit of a control freak and has never been fond of compromising. Honestly, I'm surprised it took this long for problems to arise.
