Whedon pulls out of Wonder Woman project
Atticus Chaos replied to Atticus Chaos's topic in Television & Film
Or Morena Baccarin. Honestly, I don't think Whedon was going down that route. I remember Charisma Carpenter saying in an interview she was pretty eager for the role and was putting off having another baby because of it, and Whedon response was along the lines of "she'll at least get an audition but I really don't think its for her." Plus, Whedon doesn't actually get along with most of the actors he's worked with: Sarah Michelle Gellar can't stand him and warned Eliza Dushku off doing a Faith spin off, Nicholas Brendan felt he was treated badly towards the end of buffy, and David Boreanaz was complaining about him in a tv guide interview last year. -
Apparently, the latest observer says RVD gave his notice last week, hence his job to Bob Holly.

Speed had a pretty witty script I always thought. Anything else that'll keep this elevator from falling? Yeah. The basement. -
Whedon pulls out of Wonder Woman project
Atticus Chaos replied to Atticus Chaos's topic in Television & Film
For everyone who says whedon is crap at writing films: he did an uncredited rewrite of the script for speed. Graham Yost, the credited writer, freely admits joss wrote 99% of the dialogue and even added in a few characters and made a few changes. That has to be in his favour surely? -
from Mike Johnson's latest audio From people he's talked to in TNA, it's just "a matter of time" before more TNA talent is pulled from the indy scene. Samoa Joe was the first, but won't be the last. TNA feels they are on the cusp of getting a longer show, and moving on to the next stage of their company. They don't want you to be able to go to a show in front of 500 people and watch their talent, you need to watch them just like you do with WWE to see their talent. It won't happen all at once, because TNA remembers the backlash from the last time they pulled all their talent at once, but don't be shocked over the next 2-6 months to gradually see the likes of Chris Daniels, Homicide, Jay Lethal, Austin Aries etc. to begin to be pulled from their indy commitments.

It’s not a guarantee RVD is leaving. He’s been behaving lately like he doesn’t give a crap and has made up his mind to leave when his deal comes up this spring, but others who have spoken to him are under the impression that if WWE gives him a good money offer he’ll take it. He has told some people that he wants to go to TNA and work indies, but you have to consider that this could be a bargaining tactic. Basically, the more he plays that he’s desperate to leave, the more WWE is going to offer him to stay, because I can assure you they do NOT want him going to TNA. The key to Vince McMahon is that he must feel that he has won some sort of battle over you. He’s always gone harder after folks who have walked out or threatened to walk out on him than guys who answer the phone on the first ring immediately sign (Matt Hardy). Basically, Vince wants what he can’t have, so the game is to make it seem like he can’t have you, and if you have any sort of value whatsoever (or even if you have no value in WWE but the feeling is that you would be valuable elsewhere), he’ll do whatever he can to get you. Rob is scheduled to start renegotiation talks very soon, so it should be an interesting next few months. f4w newsletter

The black dahlia Sure, the film is a let down, but this trailer makes it look like a must see. The death in Vegas song is a nice touch. The Marine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=581PizXhmmY This made me want to go see a wwe movie, so it must be good. sin city what are yours?

I always thought that was a really bad trailer. They couldn't have made it more obvious it was just another matrix rip off movie.

Orton-Cena-Edge. Triple Threat. Quite frankly, Edge/Cena (overused as it might be) or including Shawn to make it a 4-Way would do more then a Cena/Orton match. Quite frankly, inserting Shawn would make it quite similar to WM2000 with Edge and Cena playing Rock/HHH, Orton playing TBS (youngest guy billed as the future) and Shawn as Foley. A triple threat was done last year with Orton and it was flimsy. Just stick Shawn in there. A fatal four way would be a bad idea. The card is looking weak from an in ring point as it is. Putting three of your best workers in one match when you should be spreading them out would be very unwise.

one of the worst autograph reports Ive read in a while. The security sound like complete assholes. As a treat my friends took me to the Rated RKO signing in Meriden last night. Edge & RKO were about 20 minutes late having gotten tied up a LaGuardia airport. They both arrived in t-shirts...guess the dress code's been dropped. Edge & RKO were very nice to the fans but unfortunately, I can't say the same about the people running the show. My friend went early in the morning and was second in line. My other friend and I arrived about 5 to join him. Our stuff was signed and pushed through before we ever even got up to Edge & RKO. One of the people I was with purchased a photograph. The picture was taken but she was shoved off before Edge & RKO could sign it and it ended up getting scooped up with someone else's autographs because they were just piling things on top of each other. So, she just threw 40.00 out the windoWii My other friend didn't purchase a picture and his stuff was taken from him, signed and put to the side before he even got to the table. When he got to the table the guy running it said "Your stuff is over there" and pushed him away, so he never even got to say hello to RKO & Edge (both of whom looked very confused by it). I don't hold last night against the WWE superstars as how it's handled isn't their fault and they did make an effort to try to talk to the fans. I know people running these events have to spend a lot of money to book these guys, but you know what, we have to spend a lot of money for autographs (THAT A GOOD CHUNK OF THE COUNTRY GETS FOR FREE!) and pictures. And for one of my friends to shell out over 100.00 and never even get to say hello disgusts me. He wasn't the only one that this happened to. As we were leaving I saw a little girl (about 14 or so) crying because she got shoved through and didn't get to talk to RKO, which is the reason she waited in line for 5 hours. Maybe the people running these things should keep this in mind if they want people to return to their signings, because as anyone who's ever read anything I've written knows, I am one of the biggest RKO fans on the planet, but I'll never go back to another K & M run session again, even if RKO was giving out his home phone number. www.gerweck.net

The latest wm plans, according to Meltzer, are... Batista/Undertaker Cena/Edge/Orton Shane McMahon (w/ Great Khali)/Hogan King Booker(w/Vince McMahon)/Shawn Michaels(w/ Donald Trump)

Sacha Baron Cohen should have been nominated for best actor. But I guess it was just too unconventional of a performance. others Mia Kirshner/ black dahlia steve carrell/ little miss sunshine Shareeka epps/ half nelson, Gosling gets a lot of praise but she's great in this too. The guy who played Tony Blair (his name escapes me right now) in the Queen was quite good.

Trump is a smark. Who knew?

There were a lot of people on the ECW brand last night who were stunned to see CM Punk jobbing clean to a midcarder like Hardcore Holly on ECW last night. The story from what I’ve been told is that this has stemmed back all the way from December To Dismember. When Heyman was still helping book the show, he wanted CM Punk to be the one to choke out Big Show with the Anaconda Vice early on, and shock everyone watching. According to those who were there, Arn Anderson and Finlay both stepped in and made sure that didn’t happen. I was told that Arn had said that Punk isn’t over and that his finisher isn’t over and that he should not be the one to take out Big Show. They went to Vince with this, and of course Vince sided with the big monstrous guy in Lashley. From that point on, Finlay and Arn have not exactly been pulling for Punk so to speak. Lagana doesn’t want to mix it up with the agents like Heyman would have, so he just goes with flow. The interesting thing I’ve heard is that initially CM Punk was supposed to lose via screw job last night by Holly with his feet on the ropes or with a ref bump. The finish was instead changed to what you saw. It’s been long said that Stephanie McMahon doesn’t see value in CM Punk for what ever reason. So basically as it stands, Punk doesn’t exactly have friends in WWE. While there are people in the company who say that Holly is a good man and that he’s been in the company for a long while, it doesn’t change the fact that he’s a midcarder, always has been and always will be. And that guy ended the winning streak of someone supposedly not over while the fans were chanting his name during the match. And people from Raw and Smackdown did notice the difference in how the undefeated wrestler on Raw was booked, and how the undefeated wrestler on ECW was booked. Unbelievable, that’s all I can tell you. -PWI Hotline

Khali was moved to Raw in response to HHH's injury, but not to fill the hole left by him. The plan was indeed for the DX v RKO feud to continue a little longer, and Khali was going to be moved over, but not this soon. With Big Show looking less and less likely to be able to go at Mania, Khali is now the leading candidate to face Hulk Hogan at Mania. Vince really wants to play off of Wrestlemania 3 with Hogan vs a giant, and now Khali appears to be that man. Khali was moved to Raw to get more exposure in preparation for the Hogan match. Big Show may still return for this, but with it looking less likely it is now Khali vs Hogan at Mania. According to people backstage, Diavari will soon be on Smackdown as a cruiserweight. -PWI Khali versus Hogan? This will make Rosie/trump look like a five star classic.

Triple H is in Birmingham, Ala. right now having his leg injury from last night's PPV examined. Today's diagnosis is a quadriceps tear on the opposite leg of his last injury. He is scheduled to have surgery tomorrow. He tore his other quad on May 21, 2001 and returned about eight months later. Typical recovery time for this injury is nine months. After surgery, he will be in a wheel chair for a month or two, then on crutches for another two months, and then wear a leg immobilizer for another stretch of time, before moving into the rehab stage. If he follows a typical recovery time pattern, he won't be able to return to action until around October 2007, missing WrestleMania and Summerslam. The tentative main event for WrestleMania was Triple H challenging John Cena for the WWE Title. That will not happen now, obviously. A new WrestleMania main event will have to be devised, and the DX gimmick will probably be discontinued, barring Shawn Michaels "recruiting" a new member to take Hunter's place. Vince McMahon and Kevin Nash suffered similar quad tears in recent years. Nash was out nine month. He did not continue wrestling his match when he tore his quad. Hunter did, putting other body parts and his opponents at risk of injury as he finished the match. Hunter wraps his knees tightly before wrestling to protect the knee, but it could also conceivably lead to a tendency to more easily tear a quad. It also might stabilize his legs even with a torn quad so he was more able to complete a match than someone suffering the same injury without his knees wrapped. Having suffered the same injury on his other leg in 2001, he probably immediately knew what happened. Michaels, meanwhile, has shown signs of being very worn down by the schedule and in need of time off himself, increasingly so over the last year. The Triple H injury puts more pressure on him to work through his fatigue and nagging injuries (including continuing issues with his lower back, which forced his retirement at one point) at least through fall. from Keller

Seemed to me just as Trips was going for a Pedigree on Edge, Orton came in the ring with a chair to hit HHH's knee went out in the middle of the Pedigree and fell down before Orton could hit him with a chair so it was a total whiff. Orton freaked out and ran outside. Not 100% his fault.

from the power 25 RVD 12 RVD put forth a good effort, but once again he came up empty-handed in an attempt to win back the ECW World Title. Maybe he should just give it up, already. yikes.

January 02 2007) - Moving a show to Sunday nights might at first glance appear to be an act of desperation, but SciFi Channel is expected to officially give the greenlight to a fourth season of "Battlestar Galactica," possibly even before the show makes its Sunday night debut on Jan. 21. The "Battlestar Galactica" prequel spinoff "Caprica," however, may not be getting the same good news. "Anyone expecting to see 'Caprica' before 2008 is fooling themselves," a SciFi Channel source told SyFy Portal. "There is still quite a bit to be worked out." SciFi Channel has a history of making big announcements about potential new series that never make the light of day (see shows such as the "Quantum Leap" remake that never materialized), but the network normally does move forward on spinoffs of popular properties already in production, like "B5: Legend of the Rangers," a spinoff of "Babylon 5" that never made it past the backdoor pilot movie, and "Stargate: Atlantis," which spun off from "Stargate SG-1." Another show that is not expected to get a greenlight for series is "The Lost Room," the recent miniseries filmed as a backdoor pilot that recently aired on SciFi Channel. It finished well behind three of the last four miniseries aired on the network in terms of ratings, and it's unlikely that will be enough to garner it a series order. Of course, all of this is based on rumor, so please consider all this information as you would any other rumor. - Article by Michael Hinman source sci fi portal Hooray!

The plan as of now for the Great Khali is to continue the storyline with Tommy Dreamer. It's meant to build Khali as an unstoppable monster who has to go through the ECW original to prove himself. It's set at this point to lead to Wrestlemania with Khali getting a monster push in the process, and culminate with Great Khali challenging BOBBY LASHLEY for the ECW Championship. That's right, Khali vs Lashley for the ECW title at Mania 23. -PWInsider.com Someone put Heyman on suicide watch.

If TNA are smart, they'll use some of the nonsense Kurt says for the Nash character.

Old pic of Jillian Hall...just wow. She looks like a different person.

source nodq.com The in-ring promo Bobby Lashley did on the 12/19 ECW show, which did him no favors, is another example of rushing talent. Lashley, from a promo standpoint, is nowhere close to being ready for a main event spot. One person in the middle of all this said, "Bobby is another casualty of the preposterous expectations that creative has in terms of workers. He doesn't have experience or confidence in his own promos yet, yet he's in the top slot. Way too premature. Then again, most decisions these days are becoming increasingly impulsive.

"Samoa Joe is the most underrated wrestler in the world right now. In my opinion he should be ranked behind me. Because of his size, he is a guy-who-once I teach him to work-will be incredible. Sometimes he goes flying out of the ring. Now you don't want people to forget he can do that, but he shouldn't do it all the time. That's what the little guys are for, and that's what the X-division is for. I can do a 450 with a twist, or I can do my moonsault, but I save it. My match with Shawn could have been better and I'm gonna have a match like that again. I'm learning how to teach now. Look at AJ Styles. When LAX trapped Daniels in the cage he had no emotion in his face. When I teach him that, he will be the most marketable athlete we have." Kurt Angle comments from a recent interview with the uk daily star. He's reaching ultimate warrior crazyness here.

WON News + Notes, December 25th Issue
Atticus Chaos replied to The Decemberists's topic in TNA Wrestling
A russo/heyman pairing could be the greatest booking combination in the world. Or the worst.
