He's denying it on his my space. But then he did that the last time too.

I also highly recommend giving that interview a listen. He went into how they told him not to use footage of guys working in another company, unless it shows them getting their ass kicked. There are lots of really cool bits in the interview. Yeah, it is pretty insightful. I thought someone getting fired cause the word "finish" was used in an interview was a bit extreme, even by WWE standards.

Indeed wrestling got an interview with a WWE production worker who got fired a couple of weeks ago hxxp://dl01.blastpodcast.com/indeedwrestling/15285_1157433044.mp3 he talks about: long hours, how being a wrestling fan works against you, Randy Orton's suspension was a work (to reinforce his bad bay image and move him back to raw) how every episode of TNA is taped and logged and what it was like in production the day Eddie died.

In a rare interview, TNA Wrestling President Dixie Carter on Thursday (Sept. 28, 2006), spoke openly with Ross Forman who has covered pro wrestling for 15 years. Dixie was quite candid, addressing Kurt Angle’s signing, drug use in pro wrestling, TNA’s move to prime-time (Thursdays, 9 p.m. ET/PT, SpikeTV) and even Bill Goldberg. By Ross Forman The signing of Kurt Angle by TNA Wrestling will go down as the most pivotal move in the history of the Nashville-based company. Angle’s long-term contract with TNA is a landmark moment, one that changed the landscape of pro wrestling as we know it. Angle’s acquisition by TNA ranks right there with what the New World Order (nWo) did for World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and pro wrestling in 1996. Clearly, TNA’s acquisition of Angle makes it easy for the folks at Pro Wrestling Illustrated when they start compiling their annual list of The 10 Biggest News Stories of 2006. This transaction will have ramifications for years to come, without a doubt. “We’re absolutely thrilled to have signed Kurt Angle. He is a huge addition to the TNA roster,” said TNA Wrestling President Dixie Carter. “Once I knew that Kurt would be available, we immediately wanted to talk with him and, hopefully, sign him.” The Angle announcement at the end of the No Surrender pay-per-view on Sept. 24 was one of those rare wrestling moments – a surprise announcement was hyped, the secret was actually kept and then the announcement lived up to the hype. Carter said that, before the on-air announcement was made, there were less than 10 people in the company who know for a fact that it would be Angle. And all who had been informed about Angle were first required to sign a Confidentiality Agreement. “Knowing how big this announcement was for TNA, I just felt it could be one of the true surprises in pro wrestling,” she said. The Angle signing, though, came with a bit of negative feedback. Fans questioned whether it was too soon following his departure from World Wrestling Entertainment because there were questions about his health status and a rumored drug-use problem. “Am I shocked by some of the negative response? I’m more saddened by it – for Kurt,” Carter said. “I know this has hurt him very much. “TNA would never sign a talent, or allow a talent to be in a situation to harm themselves more than the risk each of these guys takes every time they step into the ring. I truly believe that every TNA wrestler, referee, broadcaster and front-office employee knows that their health and their family come first. TNA is their livelihood, and they are all very passionate about it, but it is still just a job.” As far as you know, what is Kurt Angle’s current health status? “Kurt has been cleared by his team of doctors to wrestle, and I have that verification from the doctors.” What did TNA do to make sure that problems in Kurt’s past, including anything drug-related, have been addressed? “I have personally met with Kurt and his wife. All past medical and pain medication issues have been addressed in depth and to my satisfaction. We have assembled a team of doctors around Kurt to monitor past injuries and also oversee his health on an ongoing basis. “Kurt will personally address specific questions about his past, not me.” The issue of drug use in pro wrestling has been a problem for years, with several drug-related deaths. Does that worry you? “It’s a huge concern, of course. First, one of the benefits of working for TNA Wrestling is the schedule that our talent has, which prevents the enormous, physical strain on a body. Second, our talent does not secure their spot on our roster by the mass of their bodies. If a TNA star is injured, or has personal issues that he or she needs to address, that talent will not be put in a situation where he or she has to wrestle. The talent might still be on-air in a different capacity, but we would never do anything that could lead to further injury. If a leave-of-absence is necessary for treatment, it is an option which we have utilized in the past.” What is the TNA Wrestling drug policy? “TNA Wrestling has a very strict drug and alcohol policy, and each contracted talent signs an acknowledgement of the policy set forth. Drug use and alcohol abuse are issues we take very seriously. TNA has the right to conduct random drug-tests and other tests in accordance with government requirements. Violations of the policy are spelled out and failure to comply or failure of a test can result in mandatory drug counseling and treatment, suspension from work without pay, up to and including dismissal. We do not address the specifics of this policy publicly as we are a private company and our talent are independent contractors.” The fact that you signed Kurt when there was so much discussion that he instead would be signing with an MMA company. Talk about that. “It is true that all MMA companies have shown an interest in Kurt and, yes, Kurt does have an interest in pursuing MMA opportunities. When the MMA rumors came out recently, Kurt had already signed with TNA; however, TNA was not ready to make the announcement of his joining our company at that time.” What do you say to everyone else in the TNA Locker Room who, perhaps rightfully so, is worried about their air-time due to Angle’s arrival? “When a football team signs a superstar quarterback, it benefits the entire team. I’ve never made it a secret that the guys who brought us to the dance will remain a priority to this company. Kurt is well aware of that and supports this belief 100 percent.” Who do you see as Kurt’s first opponent in TNA? “There are a multitude of dream-matches for Angle in TNA, but, at this time, I’m not sure who will be the first to step into the ring against Angle.” How much does Angle’s arrival impact a potential move to two hours on a regular basis? “The deal to move to prime-time on SpikeTV was done prior to signing Kurt. One thing I think is so great about Kurt is that he wanted to be a part of TNA without even knowing that the company was moving to prime-time. He wanted to make that leap because he knew the potential was there and he wanted to be part of making it happen. That’s how much he wants to be a part of TNA.” That said, how much will Angle’s presence affect a potential full-time, two-hour time-slot? “To me, there’s no doubt we are going to two hours; it’s just a matter of when.” What about Bill Goldberg? “Bill has a lot of exciting things going on in his career right now. TNA would be the perfect place for him to continue those pursuits while stepping back in the ring to write one last chapter of a storied wrestling career. Bill is very talented and he would be another great addition to our roster.” Part Two of Ross Forman’s exclusive interview of Dixie Carter will feature her comments about Vince Russo, Vince McMahon, TNA’s prime-time move and more – available here at TNAwrestling.com on Wednesday, Oct. 4 ---TNAWrestling.com

Listening to WOL: Dave says he doubts it's Goldberg or Ultimate warrior. He said Brock was possible.
-
Wasn't it said he never got around to signing an extension and had a verbal agreement with WWE?

Chris Jericho wouldn't be that much of a shock. I'd have said Goldberg, but I can't see him working with Russo.

PORTLAND, Ore. - When Susan Kuhnhausen returned home from work one day earlier this month, she encountered an intruder wielding a claw hammer. After a struggle, the 51-year-old nurse fended off her attacker by strangling him with her bare hands. Neighbors praised the woman for her bravery, and investigators said they believed the dead man — Edward Dalton Haffey — was burglarizing Kuhnhausen's home. But after an investigation, police now say the intruder Kuhnhausen strangled was apparently a hit man hired by her estranged husband — Michael James Kuhnhausen Sr. — to kill her. The 58-year-old husband was taken into custody Thursday and charged with conspiracy to commit murder and attempted murder. He was ordered held on $500,000 bail. Haffey had worked as a custodian under Kuhnhausen at an adult video store, according an affidavit filed by the Multnomah County District Attorney's office. Kuhnhausen and his wife were in the process of getting a divorce, and she told officers "her husband was distraught about the divorce and wanting to reconcile but that she was insisting on the divorce," the affidavit states. A background check showed Haffey had served lengthy prison terms for conspiracy to commit aggravated murder and convictions for robbery and burglary. Inside a backpack Haffey left at the scene was a day planner with "Call Mike, Get letter," scribbled on the week of Sept. 4, the affidavit said. Michael Kuhnhausen's cell phone number was jotted on the inside of a folder, it said. An emergency room nurse who lives in a southeast Portland neighborhood, Susan Kuhnhausen arrived home on the evening of Sept. 6 to find Haffey coming at her with a claw hammer. She was struck in the head and wrested the weapon away, but the struggle continued and Haffey bit the nurse, according to police. A large woman, she was eventually able to get the slight Haffey into a chokehold and police later found him dead in a hallway. An autopsy revealed the cause of death as strangulation. Police say she acted in self-defense. There was no sign of forced entry into the home, but according to the affidavit, Susan Kuhnhausen offered an explanation for the lack of evidence of a break-in: Her estranged husband had the security codes for the home's alarm system, and would have been able to disarm it. Michael Kuhnhausen denies any involvement, the affidavit states. Susan Kuhnhausen was out of town attending a nursing conference and did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment. She left this message on her voicemail: "I'm not able to answer all the calls that I've received in the past few days. I'm being comforted by your concern and your support. I want you to know that our lives are all at risk for random acts, but more likely random acts of love will come your way than random acts of violence." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060916/ap_on_...truder_killed_4 That's one bad ass nurse.

http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2006...-scientology-... When Viacom kingpin Sumner Redstone cited Tom Cruise's personal conduct as the reason for killing his production deal with Paramount, the 83-year-old mogul's candor rocked Hollywood. But Radar has learned Redstone may have let Cruise off easy, particularly in light of allegations the actor dispatched goons from the Church of Scientology to intimidate Redstone's studio chieftan, Brad Grey. According to a high-ranking media executive, Paramount Pictures honcho Grey had a highly unpleasant run-in with the Church during his tense negotiations with Cruise over Mission: Impossible 3. Grey, who had recently joined the studio, entered the talks determined to make Cruise accept a smaller share of the gross revenues than he had from the first two installments in the franchise. (For those films, the actor reportedly took home an unheard-of 30 percent of the total revenue.) Leaving the office one night, the diminutive Grey, walking to his car in the Paramount lot, suddenly found himself surrounded by more than a dozen Scientologists, who pressured him to ease up on the actor, according to the source. Following a terse exchange, the visitors allowed Grey to get into his car and leave, but the message was clear. Though he was unnerved by the incident, sources say, Grey stood his ground. After protracted negotiations, Cruise eventually agreed to a less generous deal. Neither Grey nor Paramount responded to repeated queries, but a spokeswoman from the Church of Scientology disputes the report, saying, "The Church has nothing to do with anybody's business affairs." But to many Hollywood veterens, the incident is reminiscent of another recent backlot battle: In the late nineties, John Travolta furiously lobbied reluctant former Fox studio chief Bill Mechanic to produce Battlefield Earth, the science-fiction stinker based on a story by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. "He had Scientologists all over me," Mechanic told Radar last year. "They come up to you and they know who you are." Despite the religion's reputation for intimidating its enemies, Mechanic, like Grey, was unswayed: "Do you think in any way, shape, or form that weirding me out is going to make me want to make this movie?" he said. Battlefield earth was because of scientology? Man, they are evil.

Guess him and his wife didn't split up after all. -
Bryan Alvarez mentioned that "several" Raw stars failed the testing on the weekly wrestling show... Looking at the house show line ups in recent weeks there's no one conspicuous (Edge, Carlito..etc) missing...has there been an update on this?

Conway's lost a lot of his muscle mass. -
Following the conflict it faced when several WWE SmackDown! wrestlers failed drug tests, WWE changed its Talent Wellness Program, reports the Wrestling-Observer Newsletter. Now, the penalty for a drug test failure is a loss of pay for thirty days. The wrestlers will continue to work during that period, but they will only receive expenses from WWE. As a general rule, WWE will avoid booking these wrestlers on house shows during the thirty day period, but it will not be followed to the letter

Christian Cage recovered a young cat from the engine area of a car parked at Universal Studios. When Cage and his wife went to their car in the afternoon, they heard a cat's meowing, and followed the trail to a car two away from theirs. He looked under the car and saw nothing, but then slid under the car and quickly saw the kitten looking at him. Gail Kim gave Cage some pieces of chicken that were used to lure the kitten from the car's under-belly. Eventually it worked. And when the car's owner arrived, he had no clue who's kitten it was or that the cat had been in there. "We'll probably keep it," said Cage, who already has three kittens at home and guessed that his new furry friend is about 8- or 9-weeks-old. The kitten likely will be named Lexus - because that was the type of car it had been found in, Cage said. Source: tnawrestling.com Heck, Joe would have killed that cat if he'd come across it..

In regards to the WWE Mobile alert on Kurt Angle that we talked about yesterday in the news update, basically WWE has decided to do a 180 on allowing him to save face in the situation. In other words, the chances of him returning to WWE anytime soon are probably slimmer today than they were last week. Much more in this week's upcoming newsletter. Alvarez at f4wonline
