Kurt Angle couldn't have passed,surely? Well, I guess it's good news. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit surprised.

It's a shame the intervention (I assume that's what it was) didn't work out and he got released. If he is in that state, it's amazing he held it together as long as he did.

from another forum Latest F4W says wrestlers claimed Angle showed up to events "more messed up than Shawn Michaels or Brian Pillman" and that the release was not mutual. It also claims that Angle showing up in TNA is far more likely than some are saying. Looking forward to confirmation from the Observer, but considering Alvarez shares notes with Meltzer, what was said in the newsletter probably isn't bogus.

I think Blade is a really cool name, actually.

That looked more like Jeff's fault to me.

Credit: Wrestling Observer Jeff Jarrett taped a segment recently for Fox News Network regarding the recent Wake Forest study on pro wrestling. Fox News originally approached WWE, but given Vince's history with the network and that everyone told him not to, he turned them down. It was said that Jarrett was heavily coached to expect everything and to give the sport an accurate defense before going on. He should bring along the guitar in case things get ugly...

The desperate need to clear a decade long case that has haunted your office can make people do crazy things like ignore the need for real proof. I suppose, well, he's not being charged. BOULDER, Colorado (CNN) -- Schoolteacher John Mark Karr will not be charged with the murder of 6-year-old beauty pageant competitor JonBenet Ramsey, Karr's attorney said Monday. "The warrant on Mr. Karr has been dropped by the district attorney," public defender Seth Temin said outside the jail. "They are not proceeding with the case." He said a hearing scheduled later Monday afternoon has been canceled. Temin also said he was "deeply disturbed" that authorities in Boulder brought Karr from Thailand with what appears to have been scant evidence. Colorado authorities have not commented on their decision not to pursue charges against the man named in a warrant alleging murder, kidnapping and sexual assault on a child. But CNN's Denver affiliate, KUSA, reported that the DNA sample taken from Karr does not match DNA found on JonBenet's body. KUSA quoted two sources in a bulletin on its Web site. KUSA reported that samples of Karr's saliva and hair were taken in Boulder after his arrival Thursday evening. Those samples were tested over the weekend by the Denver Police Department's crime lab. Those tests ruled out Karr's DNA as the foreign DNA left on JonBenet's body when she was slain in December 1996, the station reported on its Web site. CNN is working to independently confirm the report. Karr still could face child pornography charges in California. Earlier Monday, Karr's defense team requested that prosecutors hand over DNA evidence in the Ramsey case. The 41-year-old suspect was being held in Boulder County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder, first- and second-degree kidnapping, and sexual assault. It was not immediately known whether he would be freed or transferred to California. Karr was brought back last week to the United States from Bangkok, Thailand. He arrived in Colorado Thursday evening from California, where he skipped bail in 2001 after being charged in Sonoma County with five misdemeanor counts of possessing child pornography. Karr appeared at a brief hearing in Los Angeles and waived extradition to Colorado. (Watch Patsy Ramsey's sister reveal what the family will do if Karr isn't guilty -- 4:11) He told reporters in Thailand he was with JonBenet the night she died, and that her death was an accident. The child's beaten and strangled body was found December 26, 1996, in the basement of her family's Boulder home. Autopsy results showed she had suffered a blow to the head and been strangled with a garrote tightened with a paintbrush handle. After Karr's statements in Thailand, questions have surfaced as to whether the slight, soft-spoken man could have been involved in the grisly killing. Earlier this year, Michael Tracey, a journalism professor at the University of Colorado, alerted authorities to e-mails he had been receiving from a person now believed to be Karr. Tracey, who has produced a documentary about the Ramsey case, said there was something in the e-mails "that made me decide I had to try and do something." But he would not say just what prompted him to contact prosecutors. A law enforcement official told CNN that Karr's e-mails to Tracey were initially innocuous but that the professor contacted authorities when they became "weird." The communications were eventually tracked to Thailand.

They must have had more than his confession, though. Remember, they sought him out, they must have had some shred of actual proof.

He might not have done it... doesn't match POSTED: 3:59 p.m. EDT, August 28, 2006 Adjust font size: BOULDER, Colorado (CNN) -- The DNA sample taken from John Mark Karr does not match DNA found on JonBenet Ramsey's body when she was murdered in 1996, CNN affiliate KUSA is reporting. KUSA, based in Denver, Colorado, quoted two sources in a bulletin on its Web site: "9NEWS has confirmed from two sources that the DNA sample taken from John Mark Karr is not a match with the foreign DNA found on JonBenet Ramsey's body when she was murdered in 1996. 9NEWS has also learned the Boulder County District Attorney's office will not file charges against Karr in connection with the Ramsey case." CNN is working to independently confirm the report as Karr awaits his first court appearance in Colorado later Monday afternoon. Karr will appear before Judge Roxanne Bailin at 4:30 p.m. (6:30 p.m. ET). Earlier Monday, Karr's defense team requested that prosecutors hand over DNA evidence in the Ramsey case. Public disclosure of any DNA evidence was specifically barred by a gag order issued Friday. The order applies to all attorneys and law enforcement officials involved in the case. While the principals can discuss some aspects of the case, they are not allowed to say anything that could jeopardize Karr receiving a fair trial The order is necessary because of "the intense interest of the media in this matter and the amount of publicity that has resulted," Bailin wrote. "The court is concerned that the extensive participant and public comment will disrupt the processes by which a fair trial may be preserved." The 41-year-old suspect is being held in Boulder County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder, first- and second-degree kidnapping, and sexual assault. No formal charges have been filed yet by Boulder prosecutors. Documents list Karr's birthplace as Conyers, Georgia, and his occupation as "teacher." On Thursday, Deputy State Public Defender Seth Temin said Karr qualifies as an indigent, and he will be defending him. Temin formally informed the court of the move in a filing Friday. Temin also filed a motion Friday asking the court to order any samples of Karr's handwriting to be sealed. "Counsel is without sufficient knowledge about all the facts of the case to be able to evaluate the prejudice that may be associated with release of any of the defendant's handwriting," Temin said in the written request. A handwritten ransom note from the Ramsey house could be part of a murder case. Bailin has ordered the Colorado State Public Defender's office not to release the arrest warrant application. The judge gave Temin until noon (2 p.m. ET) Monday to file a response on that issue. Karr was brought back to the United States from Bangkok, Thailand. He arrived in Colorado Thursday evening from California, where he skipped bail in 2001 after being charged in Sonoma County with five misdemeanor counts of possessing child pornography. Karr appeared at a brief hearing in Los Angeles and waived extradition to Colorado. (Watch Patsy Ramsey's sister reveal what the family will do if Karr isn't guilty -- 4:11) Karr was arrested August 16 in Thailand in connection with the decade-old case. He told reporters in Thailand he was with JonBenet the night she died, and that her death was an accident. The child's beaten and strangled body was found December 26, 1996, in the basement of her family's Boulder home. Autopsy results showed she had suffered a blow to the head and been strangled with a garrote tightened with a paintbrush handle. Several media outlets have filed a motion to unseal Karr's arrest warrant and supporting affidavit. In its response to the motion, the district attorney's office repeated several times that the investigation of Karr "is in its very early stages." Prosecutors agreed the arrest warrant should be unsealed but said that unsealing the supporting affidavit could taint the ongoing investigation, including interviews not yet conducted. "It is crucial that people we interview provide information that is as accurate as possible, unaffected by influences other than their own resources and their best recollections," the documents said. Tracey told CNN Thursday he also learned Karr's name five days before the arrest

Angle would get slaughtered in MMA.
-
I seriously think even TNA would have doubts about signing Kurt Angle in his present state. Aside from the obvious moral reasons, think of all the bad publicy they would get if Kurt died on their watch.
-
For those that have heard the stories, I can confirm that WWE made some requests to Kurt Angle regarding how to handle his issues and he refused, thus the firing. This is your standard firing, meaning he likely has a 90-day no compete and then can go wherever he wants, including TNA or Japan. We will have a TON of news on this situation in the new issue of Figure Four that will come out Tuesday. There is way more than meets the eye in all the WWE.com stories from the past few days f4w update
-
I guess. I heard something about having to hear it from three sources at least before he put it up. On another note: Maybe, Im being too negative here but perhaps WWE want to get rid of Kurt before tragedy strikes and blood is on their hands. Let's face it: a highly respected, former Olympic gold medallist joining pro wrestling and then dying some drug related death makes them look really bad and the press would have a field day with it. Not that I'm saying it's the only reason, but it must be a factor.

Plus, the PWtorch and insider might beat him to it... but obviously he knows more than he's letting own.

Thought Dave would give more away..Guess we'll have to wait for the newsletter.

WWE fired Kurt Angle today. It is known Angle and his agent met with WWE officials this afternoon. More details should be forthcoming soon. Meltzer

Wans't this weeks WON supposed to give us an update on Angle? Did Dave mention a release as a possibility?

Hey, anyone hear about this: Outrage Over Burstyn's 15-Second Emmy Nomination 9 August 2006 (WENN) Ellen Burstyn's nomination for a Best Supporting Actress Emmy Award is being ridiculed by the US media, because the Oscar winner appears in Mrs. Harris for a mere 15 seconds. THe HBO drama stars Sir Ben Kingsley as Dr. Herman Tarnower - the man who invented the Scarsdale diet - and Annette Bening as Jean Harris, the woman who murdered him. Burstyn appears in a flashback sequence, and her character is listed on the Internet Movie Database as "Ex-Lover Number Three." The New York Post writes the 73-year-old's performance "required her to do nothing more than sit in a chair and speak three sentences of dialogue in a vaguely foreign accent." The newspaper claims Burstyn's nomination in the Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Miniseries Or A Movie category is indicative of the "deeply flawed process" leading to the nominations. Winners will be announced in Los Angeles on August 27. from IMDB Most likely they just saw her name and put her on the ballot. They don't even watch the shows they nomintate.

And also because it would be good to see justice finally done for Jonbennet and her family? You know a six year girl was horrifically murdered here. I'm not having a go at anyone specifically, but it seems a lot of people are just treating this case as some sort of entertainment for themselves. Well, obviously that, too. Six year old girls (and boys) are murdered every day and they don't become news stories. I apologize if my sarcastic remark offended anyone's Puritan sensibilities. It didn't offend me at all. And I apologize if I didn't grasp the sarcastic tone of your post (that's the problem with the internet). Your comment about losing interest, just seemed to represent the probelm with how people are treating this case: it's not about achieving some sort of closure in the Ramsey murder, it's about keeping the public engrossed with one juicy detail after another. Yes, you can blame the media for it, but the public are the ones lapping it and creating one elaborate conspiracy after another.

DIVA SEARCH SUCKS! Also, push Shelton Benjamin!

Maybe he didn't think WWE would read it. I'm a bit surprised myself.

Credit: Wrestling Observer Kurt Angle is reportedly not as esteemed in the locker room as he once was. In ECW, he is always going to Dean Malenko trying to change things with his ideas and not just for himself, but for others as well. Last year, Kurt Angle did the same thing, but since he was Kurt Angle, it was overlooked and nobody complained. Now, many in ECW are talking openly and negatively about it and it was told for Kurt Angle to not be so open about what he was doing.
