I don't think some sites worry about getting sued, considering they basically called him a drug addict a few weeks ago with no proof. Of course he has issues, but I didn't like the fact that after he got suspended people were calling him a rapist and God knows what else with no evidence whatsoever. With Orton people want to believe the worst, I think. And makes up lies when they can't find facts.

The show must go on as they say... Randy will come off really bad though, if they mention his Grandfather dying and he's busy hitting on Brooke Hogan.

Dave Sherer has reported that a meeting took place before Tuesday's edition of ECW on the Sci-Fi Channel between Vince McMahon, Kevin Dunn and Paul Heyman. Citing disappointment with the reaction at ECW Arena in which fans chanted "This show sucks", low ticket sales (particularly for the July 4'th show in Philadelphia) and a 15% drop off in ratings from week one to week two, Vince McMahon made the decision to put an end to the "ECW Style", including a break from all old ECW characters to be re-written and re-cast in the WWE style. The idea is to turn ECW into a third brand of WWE, with a roster and storylines more in line with that of Raw and Smackdown. Paul Heyman's control of the ECW brand has been reduced to the capacity of "advisor", while Tommy Dreamer has been completely removed from the creative process, and will act only as an on-air character. Heyman had written a script for last night's show, but it was all but thrown out when Vince McMahon disapproved of it's content and had the WWE creative team re-write the show from the ground up. Paul Heyman was also relieved of his backstage duties, as WWE brass took over and ran the show as they ran Smackdown later that night. It is expected that the staff of ECW referees will be given their release as the company moves away from the ECW image and incorporates the brand into the WWE fold. ECW ring announcer Stephen D'angelous has already been terminated by Vince McMahon. Mike Johnson adds in his report that beginning with last night's broadcast, the ECW roster will not be flown in for television tapings, but instead will only call for the appearance of those scheduled to work that particular show. The general opinion backstage is that when ECW finishes it's 12 week scheduled run on the Sci-Fi channel, it may be reduced to an internet program for WWE.com, or done away with altogether. Cancelling ECW after its 12 week run? That's crazy, it's ratings have been great and Im sure sci fi will want to renew it.

It would be so great if Randy and Brooke hooked up for real. Hogan: So, Randy have you ever taken an AIDS test? Randy: No, but my Hep test came back negative!

Candice doesn't read? I'm shocked.

Super Crazy... and the rest of the Smackdown lockerroom. Guess all that praise went to his head.

It's not too bad a poster. Different than the usual ones.

C'mon. This is the same company that has Mark Henry and Great Khali on tv every week. Sometimes it just seems that a lot of people hate Orton cause its the cool thing to do.

Regarding those BS Randy Orton rumours....why havn't any of the sites that reported that story apologized to him yet? Surely, if you falsely call someone a roided up pain killer addict you kind of have to print a retraction or an apology? Surprised they don't get sued. Also, what's going on with Khali? One minute he's the next Andre the giant now I hear he'll probably be jobbing to Taker at GAB. Has Vince dropped the ball with him?

Right, Dave. I'm sure JBL's thinking about his wrestling brands lack of promotion when discussing the possibility of nuclear war. Hey, remember 9/11 was almost as bad as Vince getting put on trial over steriod charges...you never know with these WWE types.

Dave Meltzer is reporting that WWE is under the impression that Trish Stratus will not be renewing her contract when it expires in August. As previously reported, Stratus is getting married to her long time boyfriend in September, and the blond beauty apparently wants to pursue an acting career. from gerweck.net

The first one is pretty decent. Not too keen on the others though.

From http://www.irontontribune.com/articles/200...ews/news437.txt Wrestling stars busted in Hanging Rock by Kirsten Stanley/The Ironton Tribune Monday, July 3, 2006 10:10 AM CDT HANGING ROCK — Two wrestling superstars from Extreme Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment may be tough in the ring, but they didn’t have enough muscle to escape drug charges after being stopped Sunday night by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Robert Alex Szatowski, aka WWE and ECW champion Rob Van Dam, and Terry Michael Brunk, aka Sabu, also a former ECW champion, were pulled over on U.S. 52, near Patrick Street in Hanging Rock at about 10:15 p.m. The two were apparently driving from their performances at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena earlier in the evening. According to the OSHP, Szatowski was initially stopped for speeding. When troopers approached his vehicle, they smelled marijuana and performed a search. Troopers found the wrestler in possession of 18 grams of marijuana and five Vicodin, prescription pain pills. Brunk was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and also had nine pills that were not immediately identifiable, but were known to be controlled substances, according to the OSHP. Both were cited and posted bond at the scene. Szatowski, of Battle Creek, Mich., has had a long, successful career with both the WWE and ECW. In addition to being the current champion of both, he has been intercontinental champion six times, hardcore champion four times and has been a part of several championship tag team duos. He is scheduled to wrestle tonight on WWE Raw and is also wrestling Tuesday night to retain his WWE and ECW titles during the “Extreme Rules Match” on the Sci-Fi channel. Brunk, who lists his hometown as Bombay, India, on the WWE Web site, has also had a successful career with the ECW, earning world heavyweight championship titles two times and tag team championship honors three times. Both Brunk and Szatowski are scheduled to appear at 10 a.m. Thursday in Ironton Municipal Court. Both wrestlers won their matches last night in Huntington, W.Va. Van Dam defeated the Big Show and Sabu defeated Justin Credible.

Wrestling-News.com has learned from reliable sources, that Kurt Angle is currently on suspension from World Wrestling Entertainment. We received two different interpretations of what led to the suspension. One item that is consistent is that Kurt Angle has been taking very high dosages of painkillers. One source told me that it became so much a problem, he would go thru several refills in less than a month. Since painkillers like Vicodin are controlled substances, a physician can only prescribe a certain dosage at a time (IE: 100 tablets with 3 refills). An example of a normal prescription would be 1 tablet every 4-6 hours, which would equal about a three week duration per refill. And you can just walk into a pharmacy and refill a prescription because you took all your pills in a week. Another problem which has worsened over time, is Angle's serious mood swings. This is a very common issue with people taking Vicodin and other prescriptions. The suspension we've heard was designed to force Angle to rest and heal up a bit. Of course he will have to lower his intake of pain medication. Interesting enough with Vicodin, you can intensify the painkilling effect not by taking more Vicodin, but adding a simple Tylenol. The Acetaminophen in a Tylenol intensifies the painkilling ability in the Codeine. Unfortunately though when you become addicted to painkillers, you take the higher levels of Codeine to satisfy your body. So even if Angle was taking the medication for pain, the addiction leads someone to take higher levels of codeine ingested hence a problem. Kurt Angle was taking the medication for the right reasons however it led what has transpired. Hopefully he can heal up and successfully address this problem. For the sake of his health. As much as we criticized WWE (in our opinion) on how they have handled certain aspects of the Drug Wellness Program, we praise them for this decision. Especially with the ECW product as bad as it is and with Rob Van Dam suspended, one would realize how much Angle could help right now. WWE's decision shows an example how they are more concerned for the well being of Kurt Angle, than the need for him on upcoming ECW house shows.

Sorry I meant driving while high. Fixed now.

I think the real issue here is that RVD was possibly driving while high. That's as bad as drunk driving. As for potential punishments: They should be put on WWE's lamest show, full of zombies, fat strippers and vampires, a show which rapes the name of the old ECW, a show with little crowd reaction...Oh. Nevermind.

By WWE standards, Orton's pretty decent.

I love how everyone always bitches about older guys not elavating talent (taker,Hogan, HHH) except when it comes to to someone they dislike (Orton). I think older talent should always try and put over younger talent regardless of whether or not you like the younger worker.

By Bryan Alvarez [email protected] We can confirm the report in the Ironton Tribune this morning that Robert Alex Szatowski and Terry Michael Brunk, AKA Rob Van Dam and Sabu, were pulled over last night on drug charges. Szatowski was initially stopped for speeding, and when officers approached the vehicle they smelled marijuana and performed a search. RVD was found with 18 grams of marijuana and five Vicodin, and Brunk was found with drug paraphernalia and "nine pills that were not immediately identifiable, but were known to be controlled substances". A court date is set for Thursday. It will be interesting to see how WWE handles this situation, as the current Wellness Policy states that such an arrest allows for immediatate dismissal from the company. Both guys are top stars for the new ECW brand, and Van Dam currently holds both the WWE and ECW belts. It works fine for me. Anyone else? http://www.irontontribune.com/articles/200...ews/news437.txt This seems legit. Shit, Sabu was just starting to do alright for himself.

Rvd caught with pot? Yeah, that's totally unexpected. THe article just came off odd reading it. If Meltzer posts, then I believe it. Hmmm...If it a fake news article it's a pretty good one. Plus on a sort of unrelated note, I thought pot was okay because they didn't include it in the drug testing policy..

Major News On The Hulk Hogan-Randy Orton Feud Tentative plans call for Hulk Hogan vs. Randy Orton at the Summerslam PPV in August, which is more than seven months prior to the WrestleMania event Orton initially believed would feature the match. Vince McMahon and Hulk Hogan met last weekend about the angle, and unless some unexpected problem arises, it is a go and will be “hotshotted” on TV in the coming weeks. The two ideas thrown around, both of which would give Brooke Hogan exposure as a musician and sex symbol, were that Orton would either pursue Brooke, leading to Hulk coming to her aid, or that Orton and Brooke would actually begin dating on television, infuriating Hulk and forcing a matchup. Hulk Hogan has full creative control, so his vision of the outcome will not be contested. (Source: Wrestling-Observer Newsletter)
