WWE General Discussion - January 2009
Atticus Chaos replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
Rumour has it Kelly's getting depushed because she turned down playboy. -
I think they may have been trying to get Orton over as a face- or a tweener, at least. They know people find it difficult to side with an egotistical billionaire under any circumstances, and Vince was encouraging Orton with that line about him being nothing without Vince. It must have been obvious to anyone who read that segment that Vince was going to come off looking like the bad guy. Orton came off as an anti hero and that hopefully was the intention because I doubt any storyline that relies on Vince looking sympathetic is going to work.

12 rounds Is it just me or does this look semi watchable? At least compared to The Marine, See No Evil and Behind Enemy Lines: Columbia.
-
What replaced it? I think it was Stealth.
-
If everyone thinks it's Mark Whalberg WWE might just want to go with that. The movie would probably do better.
-
Renny Harlin's capable of directing good actions movies, despite some of the flops he's had. Die Hard 2 is the weakest of the bunch, but it's still a good action film, Cliffhanger was great, and the long kiss goodnight is very underrated. So, the movie has a competent director. Although that might not be enough to overcome the cliched storylines and one dimensional characters that come with every WWE movie, but I can't see the film being dreadful either.

What will be the worst movie of 2009?
Atticus Chaos replied to Obi Chris Kenobi's topic in Television & Film
Danny Glover as president of the United States? Come on, that's some entertainment value right there. -
TSM Talks (to the voices in their head): The Legacy
Atticus Chaos replied to Promoter's topic in The WWE Folder
I think WWE are keen on him. I suspect his lower card status has probably had more to do with his behaviour, rather than them not having much faith in him. He and Dibiase probably are Orton's lackeys for the time being, but will likely become characters in their own right in the future. Ted's just filmed a movie, so hopefully he picked up some acting skills. -
The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania Thread
Atticus Chaos replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
I can't wait till Taker gets sick of her (let's face it, he's fickle) and genuinely talented divas can get pushed again. -
Not the bedroom where he killed his seven year old son? I think I'd be okay with the rooms Nancy and Daniel died in, but the gym just seems like a much more darker, unpleasant place.
-
It's a nice house. The only room I'd feel weird about is the gym. But I could probably live there.

Jillian went way too far with the cosmetic surgery, she looks awful now. She was known as being a good wrestler before she signed with WWE, so I'm not sure what happened. Maybe it is just who she's working with. Her singing gimmick was fun for a while, though. I don't know why she's still around. Batista's girlfriend?

US Senator recommends steriod regulations
Atticus Chaos replied to geniusMoment's topic in The WWE Folder
After looking at the Vince interview again, I have to say, I almost want to see McDevitt as an on screen character, now. He does the comedy stooge thing better than Coach ever did. Q In your trial, in the trial of Dr. George Zahorian, you admitted to having used steroids on at least one occasion. Mr. McDevitt. That's false. BY MR. LEVISS: Q You didn't admit to using steroids? Mr. McDevitt. He didn't even testify in his trial. He didn't have to testify in his trial. We whipped the government's ass in 19 days without putting a witness on. Get your facts right. He didn't testify in the trial. BY MR. LEVISS: Q Is it true that your lawyer in that trial, Ms. Laura Brevetti, submitted that you had received steroids from Dr. Zahorian for personal use? A I believe so. -
US Senator recommends steriod regulations

I've heard somebody say Vince's interview was like a mob boss on trial, which is spot on. The lawyer kept interupting, he was so defensive, and, the promo at the end was cringeworthy. Stephanie came off well, even if a few of her answers were quite suspect. -
I liked the ending with the blood on the wedding dress. Cool visual, and probably a sign of things to come. I think we've had 3 seasons of Dexter getting away with, and its all going to come crashing down on season 4.

Was Lance Cade's shoot with world wrestling insanity any good? Anyone have it?

Joey Styles JKO's JBL overseas
Atticus Chaos replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in The WWE Folder
JBL is screwed. WWE might remove the signs, but they can't stop fans chanting stuff. I'm not saying everyone reads the internet but a lot of people do (look at the Matt/Lita situation or Brock at wrestlemania 20) and I'd be really surprised if there wasn't some funny chants on raw in the next few weeks. I don't find this that shocking:I know people have this image of styles as a geeky announcer, but if you really look at him, he's small, but quite well built. Out of all the announcers (apart from tazz and lawler) he's probably the one I would have said prior to this could put up a fight if you messed with him. -
You know, the really annoying ones that we are told we should care about, but honestly, just couldn't give a crap about. Jack from Lost: I didn't used to dislike him, but he has completely taken over the show. Just the idea that everyone assumes right away he should be the leader but we're never told why. Just on paper, Sayid or Locke seem more up to the job. He's not dull exactly, but he takes up all the airtime when there are better characters to focus on. Lana Lang: I really hate what she did to Smallville. The beginnings of Clark Kent ended up being all about Lana Lang. You know the legendary Lex/Clark rivalry? Turns out that started because of Lana Lang. Who knew? And that's not including the fact she just didn't have any sort of personality. At all. I know that the show's creators love her, and that's why they felt they had to give her as much airtime as possible, but honestly, I really think she was the reason the show could never get back to the great ratings it used to have. Is there anyone out there who actually likes her? Kim from 24: Yeah....just everything. Especially the cougar. Although, at least the producers seemed to figure out how annoying everyone found her and wrote her out. Anymore?
-
Isn't attention what they want, though? Wouldn't people just be better ignoring them?
-
Shirley Manson is hilariously bad. Didn't they check to see if she could act before they hired her? The way she delivers her lines is just awful. And its not like this is a show full of award winning acting, so she must be really bad to stand out like that. Anyway, there are two theories going around on why fox picked it up for the rest of the season 1) they do have a lot of faith in it, and want some crossover promotion with the new terminator film or 2) they know for a fact they're not doing a third season, but want to give them a chance to wrap up the story.
-
Fox gets criticised for cancelling Arrested Development, but they gave it more than enough chances. No one was watching it. I don't know what else they were supposed to do. As for Dollhouse, it might be too easy to blame Fox again. Whedon doesn't really seem to know where he's going with it. The biggest complaint Fox have is that it's not really about anything. And from what I've heard about the early scripts, that's probably a valid point. People have theorised that Whedon had this idea in his head of what the show was supposed to be, but he's having no luck portraying that on screen and now he's just lost on it and trying one thing after another.

http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2008/03/george-w-bushs.html Josh Brolin (George W. Bush) Elizabeth Banks (Laura Bush) James Cromwell (George Bush Sr.) - in negotiations Jeffrey Wright (Colin Powell) - in talks ??? (Dick Cheney) Robert Duvall (???) "W. is the improbable story of a man who went to the White House despite getting fewer votes than his opponent; who became Commander-in-Chief despite having avoided military combat himself; and who became the least popular president ever elected to a second term. W. will shock and surprise you and leave you questioning everything you believe to be true." - Oliver Stone Filming is set to begin on April 21 in Shreveport, La. W is being produced by Moritz Borman (who worked with Stone on World Trade Center and Alexander) and Jon Kilik (Babel and Alexander). QED International is financing the film. I'm interested in how he'll approach this. His Nixon biopic was sympathetic, but this is George Bush for crying out loud. I don't know how you put a positive spin on him.

WWE General Discussion - October 2008
Atticus Chaos replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
Obviously, he's not going to end up like Benoit. Although, I could see him ending up like Flair one day, unable to ever completely walk away from wrestling. I was just using them as an example of what can happen if wrestling becomes the only thing in your life. WWE is Cena's life right now, and I'm not sure how healthy that is. His schedule is insane, and he's been doing it for five years now. Just from a fatigue point of view, it has to be difficult. -

Its great he's a company man and all, but I think Cena comes off as a little too dedicated to pro wrestling. Does the guy even have a personal life to speak of? When Kurt Angle has to tell you to slow down because you're wearing yourself out, you know you've got problems. Guys like Ric Flair and Chris Benoit, are good examples of why you should never build your life around pro wrestling. I'd love to hear of John demanding time off or at least doing something selfish that indicates he's putting his own well being ahead of WWE. -
F4W/WON WWE Notes - Summarized notes, radio notes, etc.
Atticus Chaos replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
That's my problem with it. I assume you don't do a photoset like that without knowing it'll come back and haunt you one day. The whole babes in the woods act is annoying. You may as well be honest about it. I doubt WWE care that much anyway. Considering all the stuff Candice did and nobody seems to mind. Lena's past is also somewhat dubious. What did Lena do? Under another name she did some of the photoshoots/videos similar to what Candice did (they actually worked together).
