WWE News and Notes - 8/7

few points: -- Yes maternity leave = great wrestling -- Ok what exactly are those 3 guys' problems with Punk's wrestling? Is he like that rookie Jericho who cant' cut it? Not sure if I understood the quote above, there was a CM Punk match that wound up not airing? -- it's too early to tell what the roster will look like by December, so Vince is just itching to put more nonsensical reasons for guys from the other shows to show up. -- why is Tatanka still here? -- had no role for Noble? If you have the most talent depleted roster on tv and someone is sent home because 'they have no role' then the creative team needs to be suspended modern wwe way of becoming a long running champ: creative not able to think of any tagteams -- i dont know what to say about Kurt. why cant they keep him home if he really needs to? -- Summerslam looks weak. khali last man standing. get it? he never leaves his feet -- i think sports fans see steroids as STEROIDS and wrestling fans see steroids like alcohol or marijuana. simple as that

    The Marine trailor

Oh come on, he got him that role on the first episode of "Stargate Atlantis" and he's currently starring in "The Unit". Plus lets face it, he's the liquid terminator til the day he dies. Double Dragon says hello Double Dragon was awesome. If you watch it with the belief it was intentionally made that badly, much like ROAD HOUSE. It's nowhere near as classic as Road House but come on, no way was anyone taking that seriously. that reminds me I've got to check out Road House 2. Yes it does exist and already out on dvd. I wonder if they've been trying to keep Cena babyface just cause this movie isn't out yet. But when See No Evil was out Kane stayed primarily heel. although he wasnt in any feuds and he was the villain in his movie. Maybe they're trying to get people to root for the bad guys and hope the hero fails in the movie, like in Mission Impossible 3. If the movie bombs they can blame it on the fake Cena who was the one that did the movie, and the real Cena's been locked in a basement all this time on Smackdown, diabolically plotted by evil Carlito and Jesus.

    Possible DX/Survivor Series Spoilers

that'd be a cool poster if it was 8 years ago and Shawn was already a member of the NWO with Booker T and Big Show. dont you guys remember that great storyline?

Damn referees make a lot of money. Is that also the reason why Angle did not want to be moved to ECW, because of the smaller gates?

    Jeff Hardy re-signed by WWE

i never understood why they were so high on him. what separates him from all the other guys his size that have or havent signed with the company before? unless they have hours of tape of great interviews he's done that no one has ever seen before, i dont get what the big deal is about him. i think they're jus lazy about making new gimmicks so theyll sign anyone who was a familiar name before
  7. I picture Vince seeing Punk walking down the hall and then telling one of his stooges, "Somebody needs to tell Kendrick he needs a shave."
  8. the whole ecw rules thing is so arbitrary. they dont even give an explanation as to why one match is one and another isnt. They should just lie and say there's a coin toss before each match. If the ME isnt always extreme rules I'll assume the ones that arent are going to end in DQ or countout. You could always guess by the opponent, as Flair was the only one who doesnt have to be protected, I think he's obligated to lose to everyone one under wwe contract. And Kane isnt in any programs with anyone anyway. Or they could just say it was the fake Kane that lost. funny how brawler didnt seem to know how to tap out it looked like he was applauding, as tap outs didnt exist (in wwf) till '97 styles said this would ME any wrestlemania but ecw gets it all to themselves haha vince should book this for wm just to piss off the hammerstein fans and let sabu in a gimmick battleroyal or something havent seen credible get so much offense in a match in years. if they ever decide to get tagtitles, they should team him up with snow, since they'd only get pinned half as much as usual. i prefer matches like this instead of a total squash. i dont think anyone the fans recognize should get no offense in. brawler got a good reaction which isnt what i expected maybe the fans jus like to root for the losers of the bunch even if they were not in the company i dont get why they'd boo london and kendrick though theyve done nothing but wrestle and are so underutilized i barely consider them wwe or smackdown. i went to the supershow hoping to see some of those workers not used enough and they leave them out to work tuesday instead that does kind of make sense, as workers who have no storyline reason to be on the show end up being used which the fans dont like; but if u can work a nontraditional wwe style then the fans should like it somewhat would the reaction have been better in the ME if it was ballz instead of deacon dave? or what if it was undertaker? he wouldve told vince to shut the company down cause the fans cant work wwe style
  9. I hope they dont have Punk confront Angle on his first night in. At least not physically. But I also dont want them to have 2 quick singles squashes for them. They havent had a show without a Kelly segment yet so why start now. I'd hope the tag goes short but its supposedly the only ECW rules match so may be longer than I'd like.

Feuds That Could Have Happened But Never Did

I remember that Al Snow heel turn. I thought it was great that it came out of nowhere and it was something about being Foley's friend even though he was ridiculed in Foley's book and Foley was constantly sucking up to Rock to get him to be his friend even tough he'd always make fun of him. It was the old 'perennial loser makes an attitude change' but HHH is the only one who actually started winning more with that gimmick. There was a Raw with Rock and Sock vs Y2J when he was the hot new heel in the beginning, and Snow came out to be his partner. I thought it was gonna be the start of a big heel push but they never teamed up again. I think they just used him so Jericho wouldnt get pinned. I dont think he's ever been near a main event since then. After that heel turn he lost just as much as before, which was baffling. I think he actually got a singles match with each of them, but they didnt book him to be at the same level of the Rock and was constantly beaten quickly. It was one of those feuds that never culminated on ppv, only on tv so no one remembers it. what a waste. they never explained what happened with owen. although watching hbk's shoot interview he sounded the same with owen as others who he didnt 'help out' He said he wasnt really vocal about his career regarding getting pushed (meaning he doesnt' play politics) and Vince didnt seem to give a crap about him, which is why I dont understand why he didnt release him. WCW never did anything with the other 3 members. How did he go from the attacking Shawn at the ppv to the interview the next night, then end up in the Nation? It was like the fans were hot for him so they put him in a program to make sure he'd be forgotten as a big deal. another one i thought of WCW gave dream or never before seen matches on a weekly basis, but I was really excited about a possible Sting and Bret program. I remember them having one match on tv. Both were faces and Sting was in the sharpshooter and Luger hit Bret in the leg without Sting seeing. He put the move on Bret and he tapped out almost immediately, I remember it was a great selling job. Dont think they were ever in the ring at the same time again. The announcers didnt even make a big deal about this match either. Was I the only one who cared?

    The OAO RAW for 7/31/06

no Vince or HHH last week so I'd pencil in 45 minutes mic time. 20 for Vince, 25 for HHH.

    Heyman interview

he doesnt wanna mention the talent he's contacted because they'll get raided by Raw and Smackdown. I believe him. They're running out of guys for Umaga I like how the interviewer brought up all the TALL guys in the main event and Heyman sidesteps these issues/critisisms where he finds a way to answer without really giving an answer. I dont get his comparison of THAT main event with the one using Anderson and Eaton. When he was running his own company I think he was one of the first after a show to point out any criticisms ( that really sucked, bad idea etc.) But now if he's got a show planned knowing full well it's about 10% as good as originally intended, he'll still go out there and say it will be as good a show as you will ever see. Because badmouthing it when it's not his money would just hurt any power he has at all. I think they're at the point where if he said anything less than stellar, even if he took full blame himself, he'd find a way to get in trouble.

was this testing always supposed to be scheduled for around this time, or was it pushed up when the Van Dam incident occurred so as not to attract anymore drug-related publicity?

I've seen it. Good footage and interviews. Although it doesnt go into enough of the Von Erich deaths after Kerry.

WWE News and Notes: WON 7/24/06

i totally forgot about that Styles interview. it didnt amount to anything, except the part about being sick of male cheerleaders i remember reading the tommy dreamer thing. it's totally vague about anything and he still gets in trouble. why would they even pay attention to what he says, nothing new is getting through to the show anyway so banning him from writing isnt a big deal. There was a time when u could be constructively critical of wwe and not get in trouble right? WWE: you 're in trouble Tommy. Tommy: what're u gonna do, have me lose to Test twice in one hour? no problem.
  19. they're running out of old and/or tall guys. but seriously, the ratings have stayed pretty consistent aside from the big dip after the abysnal 1st show. what if they take it as a sign that these big guys are drawing the ratings? or that Big Show is drawing the ratings? so even when RVD returns they could keep Show in the ME every week for months.
  20. I remember when Owen returned after Bret left and attacked Shawn after his ppv match with shamrock. He did an interview the next night and then they put him with the Nation, which made perfect sense So yeah Im assuming they put the kibosh on some plans there, as they couldve done big things with Owen but didnt It still doesnt make any sense why Vince wouldnt let him ou of his contract. He stayed pretty over despite not untilizing him because he was so damn good, reminds me of how Matt Hardy is treated now

WON WWE News and notes - 7/17

that answers my question on who'd they wanna bury more: ecw guys or ovw guys? the answer: vince gives a crap about tagteams as much as bischoff did kevin dunn knows all about wrestling. no one should question him. ever. if vince had his way he'd have every wrestler, announcer, commentator a (male) topless bodybuilder i think he cries himself to sleep every night ever since he let nathan jones walk out of his life but seriously what kind of childhood does someone have 'growing up on bodybuilders'

What program would you like to see ME Raw?

when Cena would start to get really loud boos they all of a sudden cut 90% of his mic time (before that he was still getting half the mic time of HHH but thats beside the point. He actually got much better on the mic and moved away from the raps which doesnt make sense considering his look. He's more likely to get over with than that with his work in the ring but they still let him talk very little. I think either way he'll get booed as Jericho put it once, "it's the cool thing now to boo Cena no matter what he does" My favorite "creative" decision was when he was in the ME with Edge and HHH against the Squad, literally the only babyface in the match, and he would still get booed. My friends see it as "he's this midcard guy from smackdown, they moved him to Raw with this gimmicky belt, and he's suddenly the top guy without ever bothering to explain why he's so good" Is that what JR is referring to when he always says 'the most controversial champ in history?' That's the controversy? A champ that isnt a great worker? Since when is that controversial?
