I'm not sure if the '08 Lions are the worst team ever, but I feel pretty confident in saying that they have the worst defense ever. In regards the COTY, Harbaugh should get a mention as well. I don't think he will (or should) win it, but he doesn't seem to get as much recognition with Sparano, Smith, and others doing great coaching jobs.

Looks like it's gonna be more of the same for the Lions. Wouldn't expect anything else from old man Ford.

I think you could even throw Rivers' name into the MVP discussion if the Chargers can find a way to win the AFC West. He's got 4 TD's today on the road against a tough Buc D and leads the league in passer rating. Man, the Lions sure didn't disappoint today. Brees should try and run up as many yards as possible so he won't have as much to do next week to break Marino's record.

One stat I saw during the game was that Dallas had gone 11 straight seasons without having a winning record past November. Longest streak since the 1967-1977 Saints. Pretty staggering stuff right there.

Well, Murray is 3rd in the FBS in all-purpose yards, but I don't expect OU to suffer too much. They're more than capable of filling the holes on offense and the return game.

Speaking of the Vikings, I wonder if they'd be better off by sticking with Tavaris Jackson. Let's face it, most people think the NFC North rep will be one and done in the playoffs. Frerotte can only do so much (his numbers this season aren't particularly good) and I don't think AP alone is enough to carry the Vikings too far. Jackson can be awful at times, but he has way more upside (he did have 4 games with a QB rating of 90 or above last year), can throw the deep ball to Berrian and others, and has the mobility to evade the pass rushes of the top NFC teams.

From my experience, I have a friend who's a Packers fan and a friend who's a Bears fan and they both hate the Vikings more than any other team. I know a couple Vikings fans but I never got a sense of which team they despised the most.

Looks like I had a decent point total but a horrible matchup. Of course it would've helped if Brees, Portis, White, and Walter (all among the league leaders in yards and/or TD's) bothered to show up but oh well...time to run the consolation bracket.

I think Bradford's taking the Heisman. It could go to Tebow because of his "intangibles" and the "FIRE & PASSION", but Bradford's been the most consistent the entire season plus he's leading an offense that's scoring points at a historic rate. I also wonder if some voters will have the mindset of not wanting to have Tebow win 2 in a row (you know how the media can be sometimes). McCoy finishes 3rd, continuing the string of hard-luck for Texas. Also, Sam McGuffie's transferring from Michigan to somewhere closer to home, probably Texas A&M. There had been speculation on this for awhile, guess he's got family issues to deal with or something. Of course, many people will spin it as more evidence of Rich Rodriguez tearing down Michigan, but oh well.

Looking at the NFL gamecast, it appears that bad Drew Brees has shown up at the worst possible time. Hopefully he can pull out 2 TD's and 300 yards in garbage time like he usually does. Not to mention that my opponent has Pierre Thomas...not good.

1. MVP-Warner, OROTY-Ryan, DROTY-Mayo, COTY-Sparano 2. Chargers-It looked like they were ready to take that next step after last year but they've just laid a giant egg in '08. LT's just plodding along, defense is below average, and they've basically wasted a MVP-type season from Rivers. 3. Obviously the Lions need to hire a competent GM first. From there, strengthen the O-line and the front seven in the draft. Instead of getting free agents who cost a ton (Dre Bly, Damien Woody, etc...) or are past their prime (Brian Kelly, Kenoy Kennedy, etc...), how about picking up a couple young FA's at a reasonable price? How about playing the current young guys more? It's not like this team can get any worse...might as well try to develop the young talent you've got. Ideally, the Lions should get a dominant DE, but there isn't one that highly rated at the moment (same deal with LB and CB). The Lions would probably get the best value from taking one of the top-rated left tackles like Andre Smith or Michael Oher. Of course QB is a possibilty but I feel uneasy about Matt Stafford (who's #1 in a lot of early mock drafts). 4. Officiating's been so-so. From all the Lions' games I've watched, it looks like shitty teams are still getting hosed by the officials. 5. William Clay Ford-It's been over 40 years, just hand the reigns over to Jr., sell the team, or die already.

The Pistons are just killing me, now it's a 13-point loss to previously 3-15 Washington...come the fuck on.
