    NFL Week 7

Nice try Detroit, but not good enough. Texans with a whopping 29 1st downs on the day.

My decision to bench LenDale White is really paying big dividends* *for my opponent EDIT: I also could've started Mewelde Moore, but I cut him last week...

As well as that 40-year streak of non-losing seasons. You know, I think Michigan's offense will eventually come around (Minor had over 100 yards rushing and Threet looked good for awhile) when Rodriguez gets more talent up in Ann Arbor, but what the fuck is up with that defense? This is a group that has a bunch of veterans but they've gotten torched in most of their games.

    NFL Week 7

    1. Are the Cowboys a bunch of dumbasses trading for Roy Williams? I'm actually going to say no here. Yeah, they probably gave up too much, but their receiver depth isn't as good as you might think. I mean, do you really trust Patrick Crayton or Miles Austin to come through in a big spot? I think Roy will thrive in Dallas now that he has a real team around him. Dallas can get a corner in free agency or use their 2nd round pick to get one. 1a. Are the Cowboys a bunch of dumbasses for signing Pac Man Jones? No. Pacman was a pretty good player at a need position and they didn't have to give up much to get him. Sure, he ended up being a "distraction", but the Cowboys need to man up and play through that. 1b. Are the Cowboys completely fucked, with Romo out for a month, and a possibly rough stretch on their schedule? Nah, they'll find a way to get in the playoffs in the end. Maybe they'll start running the ball more with Brad Johnson at the helm. 2. Which team(s) will Detroit beat this year? I'll also say Minnesota and I'll throw in Tampa as well for a 2-14 season. I almost want to say that they'll beat Tennessee (due to my "suspect offense" theory) on Thanksgiving but their O-line will get eaten alive by Haynesworth and others. 3. Will the 49ers finish above .500 this season? No. O'Sullivan seems to have come back down to earth and the defense isn't as good as we thought they could be. 4. Who is more disappointing: Ryan Grant or Joseph Addai? Will either man step up big this week, head to head? Grant. I mean, he's averaging 3.4 yards per carry and he has zero TD's. 5. This week, will we see the Browns that got thumped by Dallas, or the Browns that whipped the Giants? I think we'll see the good Browns here. They might not win, but it'll be close.

Roy Williams is reportedly going to Dallas for a 1st, 3rd, and a 6th. I'm definitely satisfied with this because: 1. Roy was most likely gone after this season anyways and 2. Matt Millen will not be making those draft picks. I'm generally not in favor of getting rid of your best players, but this season is shot anyways so what does it matter? Also, Jon Kitna was put on IR today so it looks like the Lions may finally be headed for the youth movement at QB. All Detroit needs is a competent GM and maybe they can be decent in a year or two.

2nd-most points in the league (only 1.57 behind the leader), and yet I'm only 3-3 and sitting in 7th place...come on now. Still not getting enough production from my WR's. EDIT: Actually, whoever has The Shamrock Shakes is getting hosed on the matchups the worst. Slighty behind the 4th-place guy in points yet he's 1-5...damn.

    What's the worst

I never knew that there was an Arena league team called the New Orleans VooDoo, but I guess they're ceasing operations as of today.
  11. Jesus, that ball was crushed.

    Your city's most-loved team

I guess the Red Wings would be Detroit's most loved team right now, with all those Stanley Cups and the whole "Hockeytown" thing going on (although I wonder how much Detroit's high-black population really cares). People are more obsessed with the Lions but it's more of a love-hate thing with them. The Tigers have a lot of tradition, but their fanbase had pretty much been dead in the water for awhile until a couple years ago. The Pistons have a nice buzz going on, but I don't think it's to the level of the Wings. If you want to throw in college teams, Michigan football goes right to the top. Michigan State basketball would be #6.

Yeah, Tommy Bowden seemed to be one of those guys that was on the hot seat for 3-4 years (along with the likes of Tommy Tuberville and Phil Fulmer who could be gone before long).

So that Sonic finally opened today and I ended up waiting about an hour and 15 minutes to get in and out of there (this was after I had to circle around once because the lot was full). Good times.

I haven't seen it either but I got some Powerade today and they had "grape".

    What's the worst

I think Czech covered the whole "Wild" thing by going on on a rant about singular pronoun teams before (specifcally the NBA's Heat, Magic, Jazz, and now Thunder).

    NFL Week 6

Lions had 5 sacks, an INT, a blocked field goal, and two fumble recoveries (both fumbles by AD). Detroit got hosed on some calls though, including a bullshit P.I. call towards the end of the game that set up the game-winning FG. AD got his yards, but he didn't break anything big and the Lions got stops when they needed it.

    NFL Week 6

God, what a horribly officiated (and announced) game. The Vikings escape for the 2nd week in a row while the Lions remain winless.

    NFL Week 6

Jesus, Orlovsky and Calvin Johnson just got murdered on the same play. And the Lions get hosed on the call to add insult to injury.

So Dan Orlovsky just ran out the back of his own endzone while rolling out to pass...yeah.

I'm interested to see where BYU ends up. We'll see how many BCS 1-loss teams they can jump, although they weren't overly impressive against New Mexico.

No kidding. I'm sure he'd love it if we just skipped the regular season and had USC/Oklahoma (or Ohio St. or Florida or LSU or whoever) play tomorrow for the national title.

Thank God I wasn't around to watch the Michigan game. Nothing more needs to be said about that. Glad to see Texas win though, and don't look now, but Notre Dame's up on UNC. How the fuck did Jimmy Clausen become good all of a sudden?
