Well, at least the Tigers still have interleague play to fall back on when they're struggling. They're up to 3rd in the AL Central now, passing Cleveland, and are only 2 games back on 2nd place Minnesota. Their schedule up to the All-Star break looks fairly easy (St. Louis is the only team they'll play that's above .500), so it's time for them to make some headway in the standings.

Before these playoffs, I think Pierce and Allen were seen as not being much different than other current guards or swingmen like Vince, T-Mac, Arenas, 'Melo, Bosh (more of a big but still...), etc...(great scorers, numerous All-Star games, a couple All-NBA teams here and there, not a lot of playoff success, etc...). I'm not saying that all these players are equal, just that they had somewhat similar resumes and were perceived in general as being on that level right below a Kobe or a LeBron (or even a pre-injured Wade). Getting to the Finals and winning it puts Pierce/Allen above that group but I think they've still got work to do to get in the HOF.

This and a couple drinking episodes are the only times I've puked in the last 5 years.

So does this Finals put Pierce and/or Allen into the Hall of Fame? I've tended to think that both were "Hall of Very Good" guys before, and that they were lumped into a group with about 4-5 other current players, but their Finals (entire playoffs in Pierce's case) performances may sway some voters.

CC took SS already.

Can't believe this guy is still available, but I guess he is so... Norm Ullman 11-time NHL All-Star 1965 NHL All-Star 1st Team 1967 NHL All-Star 2nd Team 490 goals 739 assists 1229 points #90 on The Hockey News list of 100 Greatest Hockey Players

I hate any non-leafy salad. Pasta salad, macaroni salad, potato salad, chicken salad, tuna salad, coleslaw, even Jello salad...hate all that shit.
-
Tough call...I've always opted for bacon, but lately I've been going more towards sausage. I'll still roll with bacon though.

So um...how about P.J. Brown getting his first ring?
-
I'm glad to see KG (and his primal screaming) and Allen get their rings. Pierce? Meh. This series is gonna kill Kobe's legacy (and Phil's to a lesser extent), at least in the eyes of many NBA fans.

I might as well get in on this; I played the game long enough and I don't hate it like most Americans.

Might as well take the last Norris winner left. Harry Howell

Well, I definitely need a pass rusher right now. It was a tough choice considering all the great players still out there, but I finally decided on... Richard Dent 4x Pro Bowl selection (1984, 1985, 1990, 1993) 5x All-Pro selection (1984, 1985, 1988, 1990, 1993) Super Bowl XX MVP Tied for 6th all-time in sacks (137.5) This guy really should be in the Hall of Fame already, but I'll gladly take him on my team regardless. Simply a dominant player as well as a great athlete (8 INT's at DE). I wasn't trying to recreate the '85 Bears (especially being a Lions' fan), but hey, who wouldn't want Singletary and Dent on their defense?

Looks like I made it in time after all. There's been a good amount of corners taken so far, and that's one position I really want to make sure I get a top-flight player at, so I'm going with... Lem Barney 7x Pro Bowl selection (1967, 1968, 1969, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1976) 7x All-Pro selection (1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1972, 1973, 1975) NFL 1960s All-Decade Team 1967 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year #97 on Sporting News Top 100 List of Great NFL Players Sang background vocals on Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On" Like Gale Sayers, Barney was another guy who could do it all. He was a great kick and punt returner for a time as well as a great corner. He even was a punter for a couple seasons. Also, this is one of those rare moments where I'll be able to take a Lion without any hesistation.

Not quite four, but I've seen five now.

I don't have much to add other than to say that Carter III is great. Not a perfect album, but I liked it a lot. I've just always enjoyed Wayne's work, even if it does get too crazy sometimes.
-
I was thinking the same thing...I believe that makes 7 O-linemen drafted in the 4th round alone. Regarding Irvin, I think many people are hesistant to draft a WR early, even one of that caliber.
-
I've only got two defensemen, so I'd better pick another one before the pickings get slim. Kevin Lowe
-
Just give Czech Joakim Noah, and give KOAB Cedric Ceballos, Eddy Curry, Nikolis Tskitivili, Randy Brown, and Antoine Carr (completely random) and be done with it.
-
Nice pick. I was looking at Krause (who grew up in my city BTW) as a sleeper pick down the line. Very underrated player.
-
Looks like Matt Forte's gonna have to be the guy for the Bears.
-
That sounds (and looks) like heaven. I need to find one. I did say I liked cake better overall, but I sure do love me some egg custard pie (excuse the grammar).

Alright, it's past time so... I need a tackle to protect John Elway. Why not go with a guy who helped protect his blind side for 5 seasons and helped him win a Super Bowl? Gary Zimmerman 7x Pro Bowl selection (1987, 1988, 1989, 1992, 1994, 1995, 1996) 9x All-Pro selection (1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996) NFL 1980s All-Decade Team NFL 1990s All-Decade Team There's a number of linemen I could've picked here, but I like Zimmerman's ability to run block and pass block effectively. He was also a very tough competitor, starting 169 straight games at one point and playing through numerous injuries.

I could always use some more scorers, so I'll go with: Jean Ratelle Classy guy too.
-
Yeah, I had that too and it did taste kinda odd. They have a Sunkist version as well.
