  1. Should the NFL relax its uniform number rules (so that say, a Darren McFadden can wear his #5 in the pros)?
  2. Speaking of the white people in Family Matters point, anyone else remember Eddie's friend Rodney from the first season or two?

    The Oscars

Pretty decent length for the event. Did anything notable happen on the red carpet?

You can watch the combine live here. The RB's are running their 40's right now. EDIT: And McFadden just ran a 4.27...DAMN!!!

    This week in the NBA

I have no idea how Dixon's been lately, but Brezec wasn't doing much in Detroit anyways. Might've been worthwhile to keep him around just to have another big body though. As far as the Cavs go, I think they were just making a move to make a move. I really don't think that's enough for them. I love what the Hornets did; I'm real interested to see how far they can go in the playoffs.

The TSM 2008 NFL Mock Draft

That and a WR. Bobby Wade just ain't gonna cut it. The way this thing is going so far, there's gonna be quite a few steals early on.

    This week in the NBA

I was listening to Cowherd's show for a sec and heard something about Kupchak trying to make a deal involving Lamar Odom for Caron Butler. Anyone else hear anything about that?
  9. Regarding Al's question, hasn't the NFC South had a pattern the last 5-6 years of the last place team jumping to first the following season? I'm sure most, if not all, of those instances were shockers.

The TSM 2008 NFL Mock Draft

With the 15th pick, the Detroit Lions take Dan Connor, ILB, Penn St. It's pretty ridiculous that a 7-9 team has as many holes as they do, but hey, that's the Lions for ya. Apparently Paris Lenon is moving to the strong side, leaving only the oft-injured, underachieving Teddy Lehman (who may not even be on the team come next season), and pretty much no one else at MLB. The Lions D was beyond dreadful last season; they need as many as 5 new starters on that side of the ball alone. Connor seems to be a bit more athletic than former teammate Posluszny, definitely has a nose for the ball, and can also play on the outside if needed. Him and Ernie Sims would make for a great young LB combo. I strongly considered corner, but I feel good about the depth at that position to wait a round. I also looked at OT and RB.

Geez, Kentucky got BEAT DOWN by 41 to Vandy. North Carolina survived Virginia by 1 (without Lawson, but still).

Marvin will never go down.....you can't break his spirit. Anyways, I agree with the earlier posters who compared Hillary's run to Rudy's. I still think she's got a decent shot, but it's heading in the wrong direction fast. And why the fuck has Ron Paul not taken a hint and removed his name from the ballot? EDIT: Did anyone catch what Al Sharpton had to say? I just saw him on MSNBC.
  13. I could say Butler, but I don't know if that would really count. I think Tennessee could lose early if Lofton's shot is off. Wisconsin seems like a pretty good candidate as well. I'm sure someone else can answer that better than me. Will Steve Nash get elected to the Hall of Fame?

Did anyone else watch the Pro Bowl? This was the first time in a few years that I watched the whole game and it actually wasn't too bad.

Speaking of that, Tirico mentioned on his show a few days ago that apparently the clock stopped at the 8:24 mark of the 4th quarter and didn't run when it was supposed to. So the Super Bowl was actually around 30 seconds longer than it should've been.

Lots of outstanding games tonight. WVU/Pitt, Xavier/St. Louis, and Indiana/Illinois (complete with a Jeffrey Jordan sighting) all had great finishes.

TNA in talk with Bob Knight

Well we've already had Table matches and Ladder matches. Might as well have a Chair Match to complete the TLC theme (even though it's more of a WWE thing). Seriously though, I would love to see this Knight deal happen, although I know it won't.

    Superbowl XLII

That's basically how it always works in that situation. If you're a highly regarded team, you "found a way to win". If you're a mediocre to bad team, you got "lucky". But yeah, as Steve Young put it in the ESPN postgame, it almost seemed like the Patriots were waiting for someone to come and beat them, but it never happened (until the end).

    Superbowl XLII

Well this question usually comes up when a team has a great record or win streak but fails to win the championship so I might as well ask. Would the Patriots have been better off losing one of those games during the 2nd half of the regular season (Colts, Eagles, Ravens, or Giants)?

He was talking about Howie Long. Really? I could've swore Skip said it earlier this week. Not that surprised that Long said it though.

Anyone else catch Strahan talking about that guy who said that "the Giants have a false sense of confidence from that Week 17 game"? Pretty sure he was talking about one Skip Bayless (on one of his First Take rants).
