Anyone else notice how much J.R. was putting over Jeff's effort against Umaga during the Kennedy match?
-
Someone on the Torch suggested a Cena/Jeff main event at SS.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone run that far to make the count in a match before.
-
It almost looked like he was trying to do that.
-
Dear God J.R., just stop with the somber voice already.

Harrington's such a generous man isn't he? Well, he at least recovered enough to force Sergio to par on 18 for the win.
-
I guess because they made the playoffs last year.

Things are getting pretty tight out there...

AFC playoff teams: 1. Patriots 2. Colts 3. Chargers 4. Ravens 5. Broncos 6. Bengals (I'd like to put the Jags in there, but I'm leery of their QB/WR play plus Taylor's an injury risk every year.) NFC playoff teams: 1. Saints 2. Eagles 3. Seahawks 4. Bears 5. Panthers 6. Rams (Cowboys and 49ers among the teams that just miss out.)

I'm fine with the way the All-Star game is constructed today. Maybe they should do like the NFL and NBA and have an all-MLB team at the end of the season.
-
I forgot about the whole seeding thing but I still disagree with you about the AFC West. I still think the Chargers are gonna win the division, putting them no worse than a #4 seed.

That sounds awfully harsh, even while considering the coaching change. You're saying that after Indy and New England, at least 2 (maybe 3) other teams will finish ahead of S.D.? That's a tough sell for me.

Wasn't Stephen Drew the highest rated player of that draft? Well either way, it looks like they passed on the best player in that draft. And it was 2004, not 2003.

Well let's start off with a retirement story. Tarik Glenn

Please, tell us how you really feel...but seriously, it sounds like a ton of people are having similar reactions. Cowherd said he got a bunch of e-mails from people saying they wanted Vick locked up forever or dead. He also said this could be the story of the decade (similar to Rose in the 80's and O.J. in the 90's). Don't underestimate the impact of this entire situation in the mainstream. Tom Jackson brought up a good point of NFL Live today. He pointed out that when Kobe was charged, he came right out and vehemently claimed his innocence. To this point, Vick has yet to do that. The Falcons released a statement, but it didn't allude to them being confident that Vick will be cleared of any wrongdoing. That's pretty telling in my mind.

Bonds basically pulled another of those "fuck you all" games out of his hat.

Add me to the waiting list plz

My favorite baseball team won and now sports the highest win percentage in the league. And they did in the stadium equivalent of a nemisis, the Metrodome (in a 1-0 game, nonetheless).

Or...what if the Blazers didn't blow that game 7 against the Lakers in 2000?

232 pounds sounds pretty generous for Cody.

Well hopefully he'll win at GAB but I have a feeling MVP will take that one. Someone had brought up the issue of Matt's lack of meaningful singles wins before and MVP touched on it at ringside. I wanna know how the hell Matt hasn't won at least one U.S. or I.C. title yet, especially considering the fact that seemingly everyone has had at least one title reign. He held the cruiserweight title for a time. Yeah and he's won the Hardcore and European titles as well but I hardly consider any of the 3 to be on the level of a U.S. or I.C. title. I bring this up not only because I'm a fan of his, but also because he seems to be one of the few guys with any name value who hasn't at least won a title at that level

Surprised there hasn't been more NFL talk here lately. Anyways, Dwight Freeney was made the highest paid defensive player in league history (Richard Seymour was the highest) by signing a 6-year, $72-million dollar deal with Colts with a $30-million dollar signing bonus. Thoughts anyone?
