Florida/Kentucky was a damn good game. Kentucky lost by 3 but killed themselves by going 3-22 from beyond the arc and 12-21 from the foul line.
-
Well I wasn't alive for it but I'll glady take the '84 Tigers which started out 35-5.
-
I can't remember any dunk that Richardson did. That's not to say that he isn't a great dunker but I don't remember anything memorable that he has done. Nothing interesting has happened in the contest since the late 80s (except maybe the year Vince Carter won it). The new guys may be more athletic and creative, but they are just doing extensions of things we've been seeing over and over again for the last twenty years. I say just bury the thing instead of running out a pale imitation every year. I mean does anyone give two shits about the dunk contest anymore? Here ya go

I was on my way to class and saw it in the lobby. Half my class (including me) were making comments like "probably died cause one of her fun bags popped" "I bet someone had her in their death pool" and "sucks to be Trim-Spa right now"

I'm not gonna speculate about any possible wrongdoing by Zook but instead point out two things I've heard today about how Illinois may have gotten this great recruiting class. 1. 22 out of the 24 starters (including the kicker and punter) for Florida this year were Zook recruits 2. The fact that Illinois was so poor last year that these incoming freshman can come in and play right away.

If T.O. and Moss weren't such knuckle-heads, they could've been in the conversation eventually.

ESPN.com has them at #5 and some guy on ESPNU has them at #2.

Lost in the whole Manning/Dungy thing is the fact that Marvin Harrison, a sure-fire Hall of Famer, has his first ring. I believe he had 5 catches for 59 yards so it wasn't a great performance but certainly better than many of his past playoff efforts. By the time it's all said and done, he could be the 2nd best WR of all time. Plus he's one of the all-time great guys in this league (especially compared to his WR contemporaries). I know he had a couple "incidents" this season with the spiking the ball in the face of a Pats player and complaining on the sidelines in another game, but those moments were out of character for him. He's one of the hardest workers in the NFL and he deserves this just as much as any other Colt.

I know that Michigan lost out on Ronald Johnson, a WR/DB, to USC. That hurts because if you watched the Rose Bowl, it's clear that Morgan Trent was getting dogged all night and their best corner, Leon Hall, has graduated. They did steal one from Cali though, can't remember his name.
-
Well it was a good effort but it didn't happen for Michigan. I was actually more concerned about Conley than Oden and it turns out I was right. Michigan can still get in they finish strong against some quality opponents but the fans aren't confident at all about that happening. I would imagine Amaker would be gone if he doesn't make the NCAA tournament seeing as this is his 6th season at UM and hasn't made it there yet.

My 360 started fucking up several weeks ago. I can hear the sound but I can't see the game/DVD on the screen. I don't know what's up with that.

I'm just now realizing the fact that the Colts won the Super Bowl the season after Edgerrin James went to Arizona. (surprised nobody else has mentioned this) Kinda reminds me how my high school won the state title in football the year after I graduated. (obviously not the exact same thing but still...)

I guess Dennis Green got the last laugh after all.
-
I would love to see it happen but it probably won't because they're Duke. They're one of those teams that "you know will always be there in the end." Kinda like the Patriots, Colts, Spurs, Yankees, USC football and a few others recently. Those type of teams may not win it all(or even make it to the title game like Indy before now), but they'll always be in a position to do so.

Way to go out on a limb there (I'll give you credit for the Bears D comment though). I don't really care that I picked the Bears, I just thought they had the type of team that the Colts would have trouble with. There's two things I'm really interested in now. 1. What's the Bears QB situation gonna amount to now? 2. Where does Peyton rank on the all-time QB list now? One thing-I really like Steve Young on T.V., it seems like he doesn't pull any punches. EDIT-I take back the Bears D comment since they were playing against a great offense.

Ditto on the CBS coverage. I really enjoyed the halftime show too even though I was hardly(or not even) alive when Prince was in his heyday.
-
I also would have had Rhodes/Addai as co-MVP's. Not a fan of either team but I think everyone can feel good about Dungy winning one. The Bears had an awful gameplan though and failed to adjust.
-
The media=Colts win, Peyton's the MVP. The only people I've seen pick the Bears are Wilbon(homer pick), Skip Bayless, and most of the random people who accompany him on 1st & 10. I said it a few posts ago but I'll say it again, Bears 28-24. I'll go with Thomas Jones as MVP. Really, the only decided advantage the Colts have is at QB and WR. I'm not buying the "new" Colts D and I think Manning will get pressured quite a bit. I think Hester will play a big role too and Grossman will be a lot better than expected.
-
Are you fuckin' serious? My 110-pound wrestling and powerlifting teammates in high school could crawl outta bed and bench at least 135. Even the girls!!!
-
I know B is Favre cause they kept referencing the 18 TD's and 18 INT's today. I think A is Plummer because he didn't play the whole year and those numbers aren't as high as the other two. That leaves C as Carr. EDIT: Guess I should've known Carr was A with the 7 fumbles(O-Line anyone?). Grossman's numbers ain't too bad.
-
I'm just glad that the Lions get one more shot to beat Favre at Lambeau. Now it's Detroit, so it's a longshot, but it seems as if Lambeau has lost some of its luster. I think even the Browns have won there in recent years.

Here's my breakdown QB-Colts(obviously) RB/FB-Bears(Chicago's #2, Benson is better than Indy's #2, Rhodes) WR/TE-Colts(Two Pro Bowlers, including 1 future HOF'er and a TE in Clark who's played great lately) OL-Push(Colts are good at pass-blocking, Bears with run-blocking) DL-Bears(Colts can rush the passer but aren't as balanced as the Bears) LB-Bears(All about Urlacher and Briggs) CB/S-Colts(Corners are a wash but Bob Sanders makes the difference) S.T.-Bears(Vinatieri's the best, but coverage units are suspect, and Bears have 3 Pro Bowlers on special teams) Coaching-Push(Dungy and Lovie know each other, similar styles, Dungy has more experience, Lovie's done more with less) Intangibles-Bears(Colts could have a letdown after the N.E. game, Bears have the underdog vibe going for them) EDIT: By my account, the Bears have the edge. I'm not sold on the Colts run D and the Bears will be committed to running the ball. Special teams is the biggest key for me. My initial thought was to go with the Colts but right now I'll say Bears 28-24.

Well when I got out of my morning class, I was listening to Colin Cowherd on ESPN Radio and was making such a big stink about it, especially when some callers dialed in defending Saban, that I felt that it was big news.
-
Can't believe no one's mentioned this yet. Saban makes another boo-boo

Man this was kinda like a train wreck in so many ways. It sort of falls under the "so bad it's good" category. I enjoyed some of the wrestlers athleticism. This is pretty much what we all expected. There'll be constant reruns so I'll probably catch every episode.
