    BCS National Championship Game Thread

Even though they're a fellow Big Ten team, it still pains me to say that Ohio State is gonna win being a Michigan fan. I do think Florida has a shot but Tressel is too good of a big game coach and Troy Smith is too good of a big game player to let this one slip. I would suspect that Smith will scramble more due to the Gator pass rush. Florida will most certaintly pull out the trick plays but it probably won't be enough. I'll say OSU 34 Fla. 24

    2007 NFL Playoffs

WC thoughts: I still can't fathom how Indy can hold LJ to 30-something yards when they gave up 160+ to RON FUCKING DAYNE. I guess it's just that theory of teams/individuals stepping up when they get abused by the media. The only reason I thought K.C. might win was that Trent Green would step up and help out LJ. Should've known better. Granted, the WR's didn't help but still. I think that Addai's contributions have gone somewhat under the radar this year. I think the Seahawks have a puncher's chance to go in and beat the Bears. Hasselbeck can get the ball down the field and I think their D can force a couple Grossman turnovers. How about Jerramy Stevens performance, a guy who was much maligned for being a headcase, an asshole, and a guy who dropped to many balls. I'm sure Jets fans are wondering what might have happened if not for that fumble. NE still probably would have won but you never know. It'll be a tough matchup for the Patriots next week though. Glad to see the Giants finally put out of their misery. Philly's D is gonna have to step up big next week, but they have the veterans to do it with. (Fun Fact: Jon Runyan's from my hometown and I competed in track meets in H.S. bearing his name.)

Any time that Duke gets beat it's a beautiful thing, especially when they lose at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

    2007 NFL Playoffs

So...how about that Bill Parcells Gatorade commercial? I didn't catch that Jim Mora Coors commercial(how about Jr. on NBC BTW?) but I did see a Mike Ditka one that wasn't too bad.

    SmackDown Spoilers

This was the most Smackdown I've watched in quite some time. I really enjoyed the Benoit/Kennedy match. Was expecting more from London/Kendrick, it was bascially just a reversal-fest.

Collinsworth I believe is doing the play-by-play for the KC/Indy game I'll take the Pats, Chiefs, Eagles, and Seahawks(tough call so I'll take the home team)

ESPN sucks, so do thread closers

Yeah LeBatard was about to smack Kornheiser upside the head. Looked like they were legitimately pissed at each other.

This Week in College Football 1/1 - 1/7

Not that it matters but I played against ND's backup QB (Evan Sharpley) in the playoffs my junior year. We won 45-32. He was pretty good (and a 4.0 student I believe) though most of his success came from throwing fades to his 6'7" WR.

Tell that to Ed Reed. Yeah conventional wisdom says take the knee but being down 20 I think he was trying to make a play and give ND a spark.

Good thing he's huge cause he's gonna have to fend off his fair share of defenders if he goes to the Raiders. He would fit well in that vertical passing offense though.

Arizona was a popular pick to win the NFC West in the preseason. Fitzgerald, Boldin, Edgerin James and Kurt Warner..it'd be sort of a 1999 Rams for the New Millenium but it didnt pan out that way. Tell me about it. That's why I drafted Warner in the first TSM FF league (ugh!). I liked the potential of the offense but Arizona was still Detroit West to me. I guess a potentially great offense is why I picked the Redskins. Plus they seemed to be a better team all-around with guys like Samuels and Jansen on the O-line and Springs and Taylor on D.

Denver CB Darrent Williams Shot & Killed

I was reminded on T.V. that Julius Hodge and Joey Porter were both shot in Denver in the two previous years. But yeah that sucks about Darrent and everyone else who was there.

I count at least two who had Arizona. WTF?!?! I think I had K.C./Washington but I'm not totally sure.

William Clay Ford might have to die before Millen's out of Detroit.

*waiting for cabbageboy to go off on a tangent about how Louisville blew it by losing to Rutgers and how he will never forgive the Scarlet Knights for pulling the upset.*

The more I think about it, the Rose Bowl probably was a better game from start to finish but you can't beat the ending of this game.

Didn't catch a second of RAW and clearly not regretting it. This is hands down the greatest game I've ever seen. Funny how UM/USC was supposed to be the classic and OU/BSU was supposed to be the blowout.

Well I have to say I honestly thought Lloyd Carr had Michigan focused and determined and I thought they would win. As it turned out, it was obviously another case of Carr not getting the job done in big games. The scrutiny he's received up to this point will most definietly intensify after this one. As a UM fan, I've felt for a few years now that the Big Ten in general doesn't have the speed to compete with Pac-10 and SEC teams. Now some teams like Ohio State have caught up and have had success with guys like Ginn and Smith. The game has changed on all levels. Look at an NFL team like the Vikings, who run the ball and defend the run extremely well but still end up 6-10. Just like OSU did, USC spread the ball out and torched UM. They didn't even attempt to run the ball after a certain point. Morgan Trent was getting killed out there. Leon Hall is a first round CB but unless you're Champ Bailey or Deion Sanders, the best WR's will beat the best DB's more often than not. I can't really tell you what happened with UM's O-line and D-line other than they didn't show up to play. Henne's a good QB but he hasn't taken it to the next level at the most critical times. I also think that UM's getting beat in recruting. They'll always have a top 10-15 recruting class but the likes of Florida, Ohio State, Texas, USC, and Oklahoma are beating. My aunt who works at the hospital in Ann Arbor pointed out to me during the game that Michigan also has a habit of hiring within the system. It may be time for the coaching staff to bring in some people outside of Michigan. I'm severely disappointed at UM's play today and Lloyd Carr is surely gonna have to answer to the critics. EDiT: I knew USC could put up some points but I underestimated their D. It's easy to forget that Pete Carroll is a defensive guru.

    NFL Week 17

For all the hype about all these teams being alive for playoffs, this weekend sure has been anti-climatic.

You do realize they're playing at Texas Stadium right? On NFL Countdown's Pictures of 2006 they were playing The Game off the WWE Anthology Vol. 3 I got the Chargers as my bandwagon team

That left tackle for Central Michigan, Joe Staley, could be something special in the NFL. 6'5", 300, 4.7-40, 28 reps at 225, former TE, track star in H.S., and is still growing into his body. He's got some serious upside.
  24. Alright so outside of WWE, I haven't seen a whole lot. I've watched a few Impacts and a couple PPV matches of TNA. When it comes to ROH, Japenese wrestling, and everything else, I've seen virtually nothing. But the little that I've seen was awfully good. Higher percentage of quality wrestling than in WWE it seems. Since a lot of you guys seem to be high on these promotions, it would be much appreciated to suggest a few matches to download.
