It won't. Michigan has played down to the level of the jobber teams every time this year. This is nothing new for Michigan. Lloyd Carr teams almost always play down to their level of competition. Meanwhile, Jim Tressel teams almost always stomp on inferior opponents. You wonder why Tressel owns Carr. Michigan doesn't have that killer instinct. Maybe OSU will underestimate UM but I know that's not gonna happen b/c the rivalry is too intense.

I would've. You don't make it you haven't really lost anything, since you're still only 2 scores down. You make it, you're only a TD and 2 down. As long as that last touchdown drive was, I'm not sure WV has enough time for 2 scoring drives if Louisville can run off some clock. A wise man once told me, "Don't chase the points." Anyways I wish WV would've won b/c I really enjoy watching them play plus a possible WV/Michigan matchup would've been interesting to watch considering WV's run O and Michigan's run D being the best in the country. Normally I would agree with that wise man, but the wise man said that before he watched WVU/Louisville. At that point in the game WVU was trying to get back in the game with a run-first and second style offense with time starting to become a factor. A successful attempt gets you theoretically within one score, while a PAT gets you basically nothing. I know it's not Madden or NCAA, but in that case I would have seriously thought long and hard about going for 2. The "wise man" i was referring to is one of ESPN's CFB color commentators. Problem is, I don't remember who it was. I know he said it a year or two ago during a game. But yeah, I would've gone for 2 in that situation.

    NFL Week 9

Here we go... Atlanta (5-2) at Detroit (1-6)-Detroit actually beat Atlanta in '04. I know better. Falcons 30-21 Green Bay (3-4) at Buffalo (2-5)-G.B.'s got some momentum. Pack 20-13 Houston (2-5) at NY Giants (5-2)-Based on Houston's performance last week, things could get ugly here. G-Men 31-10 Miami (1-6) at Chicago (7-0)-Uh-oh. Bears 38-6 Cincinnati (4-3) at Baltimore (5-2)-I think Carson goes off here. Bengals 28-21 Dallas (4-3) at Washington (2-5)-'Skins will make it interesting but Brunell won't be able to make that final drive. Cowboys 28-24 Tennessee (2-5) at Jacksonville (4-3)-Jags will grind another one out, 20-7 Kansas City (4-3) at St. Louis (4-3)-Tough one but the Rams should light it up at home, 34-27 New Orleans (5-2) at Tampa Bay (2-5)-Saints have shown some chinks in their armor and they're going into a pretty tough environment. I'm just not sure if T.B. can put up enough O. Saints 20-14 Minnesota (4-3) at San Francisco (2-5)-Vikes should bounce back 24-12 Denver (5-2) at Pittsburgh (2-5)-Better effort by the Steelers, but they're still done. Broncos 24-13 Cleveland (2-5) at San Diego (5-2)-I think the Browns will pull out a couple big plays but that's it. Chargers 35-14 Indianapolis (7-0) at New England (6-1)-Indy's shitty run D will finally catch up to them. Pats control the clock and win 27-24 Oakland (2-5) at Seattle (4-3)-Fuck it, I'm calling the upset. Da Raaaiduhs 17-16

I'd probably go with Parker and Drew Sharp. I actually like Albom.

    NFL Week 8

Maybe the fact that many of their key guys(Brees, Bush, Colston, some players on D) weren't around last year helped.

    World Series: Tigers vs. Cardinals

Stop trying to sugarcoat it. The Tigers on paper were the better team and they didn't show up. The week layoff really did them harm. I'm not sugarcoating it or making excuses, I just had a funny feeling before the series started considering how the playoffs had played out up to that point. I had the Tigers winning this, but considering that Cards had a lot of their main parts from the past 4-5 years, it's not shocking that they won. St. Louis is a more veteran team and it showed, especially on the defensive side(save for Duncan). It's just disappointing to see 3 Detroit teams completely shit the bed in the playoffs in the same year. Just goes to show ya that the regular season doesn't mean jack squat.

    World Series: Tigers vs. Cardinals

Really we shouldn't be surprised at this result. Every series in these playoffs have gone the opposite of what was expected. Everyone was drinking the NL West's Kool-Aid cause of the way they finished the regular season, but the Padres and Dodgers couldn't get the job done. Minny was hot and they had Santanna. Some ppl even had them in the W.S. Obviously no one thought Detroit could beat the Yankees. Eveyone had the Mets over the Cards. Most ppl had the A's over the Tigers b/c of their experience and pitching. By time we got to the W.S. everyone jumped on the Tiger bandwagon and buried the Cards. The long layoff was supposed to help the Tigers but it seemed to work to their disadvantage. Detroit would have much rather played the underdog.

    NFL Week 7

It was over 110 degrees outside. I assume he was dehydrated. He was watching a Sean Salisbury segment OH SNAP I was listening to Game Night on ESPN Radio and the hosts and some of the callers were calling McNabb out of shape and that Fred-Ex and TO were probably out somewhere having a beer together. Funny that someone who's been to 4 NFC title games, a Super Bowl, and mulitple Pro Bowls playing at the highest level of competition is out of shape. I guess being one of the leading rushers for QB's the last few years doesn't mean much, huh? I mean come on, he did this at Syracuse and he would still win the game! I think people make too much of him puking during games.

    NFL Week 7

Don't you remember? The Falcons can't win with a running quarterback! Couple that with the fact that the Steelers were "back" after that epic performance against the Chiefs, and you can clearly see why this was such a HUGE upset.

    World Series: Tigers vs. Cardinals

I'm surprised that no one picked the Cardinals before the season to make the WS b/c of Pujols and what they've done the past few years. I'm a little concerned about everyone picking the Tigers. The way these playoffs have gone(as well as the past few) it almost seems like it's setup for St. Louis to win. Detroit should win but I'm not gonna get too comfortable until they get a 2 game or better lead in the series.

NLCS: St. Louis Cardinals vs. New York Mets

To be fair I'm pretty sure some of the experts predicted the Cardinals to make the WS before the season started. Man, Beltran would've been a legend in NY if he hit one out. I was watching in a bowling alley. But anyways, I would go with Tigers in 5 but I have a feeling the D will drop a game they shouldn't so I'll go Tigers in 6. It'll be a homecoming of sorts for Weaver and Encarnacion. For me, besides being a Tiger fan, I can't stand the Cardinals. They're the NL version of the Yankees to me(although Edmonds is one of my favorite players). I also don't care too much for Pujols(don't ask why). I think Detroit would prefer being the underdog, but Leyland will have them mentally prepared.

ESPN sucks, so do thread closers

Anyone else catch Brooke and Hulk on Cold Pizza? Basic stuff here, plug for Brooke's CD, Hulk is supposedly less protective of Brooke now, Shaq would dominate in a steel cage match, Hulk's probably gonna wrestle at WM 23, Brooke has a crush on Vincent LeCavlier(sp?), couple other things. Nothing too special.

    Tiki Barber

It seems like the consensus is that Tiki needs a couple more great seasons to make the HOF and I will agree with that. I don't think has to have the ring to be in though. At least he's played in one. I'm sure a lot of HOF'ers never sniffed the Super Bowl. I don't think RB's are judged quite as strict on wins as QB's. It would be awesome to see him and Ronde go in the same time. I'm fairly certain that both will get it if they have a couple more good years. IIRC, Ronde is the only player to have 20+ sacks and 20+ INT's in a career plus he has the ring.
