    NFL Week 15

Interesting, I've heard at least two people(Schlereth/Jaws) advocate for Marcus McNeil for ROTY. I'm sure most of you guys have your hang-ups about an OT winning the award, but it would be a nice change of pace.

Well I just looked at records. Maybe Atlanta over Dallas would be a bigger upset.

    NFL Week 14

Who here thinks Bush is really a WR masquerading as a RB? But seriously, I was a Bush fan(even thought he shoulda won the Heisman his sophomore year) until all the ridiculous hype. I'll grow into liking him again, but my point is that Bush is no Gale Sayers and definitely no Barry Sanders. And as we've seen this year, he's not leaps & bounds ahead of every other rookie in his class. In fact before last week, he barely made a peep. He's really talented and will be great for the league but I think some analysts got a little carried away in their praise. Think of the numbers Maroney, Addai, and MJD could have if not for their platoon situations. Bush is in one too but the other three are your more traditional RB's. Washington and Norwood look good too. Sorry if I sound like a hater but I just have this pet peeve about "anointing" players before they've proven anything.

    NFL Week 14

I picked 7 right. I really need to stop being in denial about the Lions. Won't stop me from picking them next week. Funny how Peyton went from runaway MVP to probably not finishing in the top 2. With Bush coming on strong and MJD breaking out, it should be an interesting race for Offensive ROTY. Addai, MJD, Bush, VY, Colston, Maroney, should be a tight one. Throw in Leon Washington, Owen Daniels, Mike Bell, Leinart, Gradkowski, Marcus McNeil, Santonio, Jennings, Hester on special teams, and Norwood, and you got yourself a bunch of offensive rookies having good to great years.

LOL at Mike Karney scoring the TD. EDIT: Make that two. Now 3!!!
  12. I've only heard Hip Hop is Dead and Black Republicans. If those songs are in the bottom half in terms of quality, I can't wait to get this CD.
  13. If that happens, I might have to pay someone to whack Mr. Millen in the near future.

  18. I feel that I am among the most qualified to make this statement: The Detroit Lions are the worst team in the NFL. Arizona has a franchise QB, 2 of the top 5 WR's, and a decent D that has maybe the best player no one's heard of in Adrian Wilson. Oakland actually has a pretty good D. Both those teams just need an O-line. For Houston, Carr's turned the corner, and their D is much improved. Mario has done OK, but DeMeco Ryans has been the real stud. They could use a healthy Domanick Davis. Detroit, on the other hand, can't seem to turn the corner. While teams like the Titans reel off 5 out of 7, the Lions "almost" beat NE. Most of the lower-tier teams have shown at least some semblance of hope and have even pulled an upset or two. Detroit's "big" win was against a struggling Falcons team at home. The players(I'm talking to you Roy) keep talking about being close but the fact of the matter is, this is their 6th straight 10+ loss season. If that doesn't get Millen fired, I don't know what will. I believe this is the right coaching staff, but they do need to change some of their methods and beliefs. Detroit has talent in the form of Shaun Rogers, Roy, KJ, Sims, Bly, and a few others. Some analysts even had them in the playoffs, believe it or not. But they always find a way to lose. Bad execution, stupid penalites, critical mistakes in crunch time, they just find new ways to blow games every week. It's just plain comical.

  21. Herbstreit had a good point yesterday. He said it wouldn't be fair to Michigan if the voters voted for Florida based on the fact that Michigan already played Ohio State and lost and that they shouldn't vote if they have that train of thought. As a Michigan fan, I want to see them in the title game. However, if they don't make it, that's fine. But what would piss me off is if they voted Florida in based on the anti-rematch sentiment. If you're gonna vote for Florida, do so b/c you think they're the better team based on strength of schedule or how they look on film or whatever. You cannot say that UM is the second best team and then put them at #3 b/c the purpose of the BCS is to pit the two best teams against each other. There is no rule saying that you have to win your conference to be in the title game nor is there a rule saying that you can't have a rematch in the national championship game.

    NFL Week 13

Random note: Why does Bradshaw do the highlights on Fox? I noticed that he's been doing that for the past couple years. Isn't that the other guy's job?
  23. Well, with Marinelli coaching the Lions, it looks like McCown has more of a future at WR than QB. Despite their record, he's very adamant about keeping Kitna in the starting role. McCown and Orlovsky are both younger and more athletic, but MORONelli is so hard-headed in his ways so they may not see the field at all this year, at least not at QB. This should be the time where Detroit finds out if they need to look for a QB in the offseason. They payed McCown a decent chunk of change like Kitna, but they're not playing him. Also, this is the 6th straight 10+ loss season, all under Matt Millen.

    NFL Week 13

Classic Kitna in that Lions/Pats game. Puts up great fantasy numbers then implodes in the fourth quarter. Congrats to Josh McCown for finally seeing the field and catching two balls for 15 yards.
  25. The point is that the debate isn't about who you want to see in the title game. The debate is about who is the second best team in the country. Your argument is about as vaild as saying "well, Michigan and Florida are pretty even, but my aunt lives in Ann Arbor, so I think Michigan should get in". Hey, my aunt does live in Ann Arbor LOL!!!
