Wasn't this the basis of Sgt. Slaughter's original gimmick? Yes but he turned face to go against Iron Sheik just as Hogan was winning the belt, and as soon as that was done he was out-even if it was due to his own actions. I don't think it would have fit for a few more years, his original gimmick, not the Iraqi thing.

Out of all those named, Cecil Fielder made me laugh most. Totally unexpected, but made sense in the middle of the nonsense because of where he played. Doubtful some of you know who that is, if you're teens or just a little older.
-
He did his job well, one of the few jobbers/preliminary wrestlers, whatever you want to call them. that the fans wanted to see get beaten-not just wanting the match to get over with so a better match could start.
-
Never met him. If he served and was honorably discharged, he should get some respect for that at least. He'd have made a good modern heel, a badass military man, but that wasn't going to happen in the Hogan/cartoon era WWF.
-
Doubt they'll be in one this early, just got a lot more PPV buys.
-
I thought I'd miss "you suck" but I didn't. Taking that away makes him seem less like a character, since the fans have been programmed to chant it, and that's a good thing.

I understand what you mean, but having things so polished takes away from the anything can happen effect, in my opinion. Of course I'm fan of the old school studio brawls, from Memphis and on TBS.

Okay now that was a hot crowd.

Forgive me.

Heard a radio commercial yesterday for a Raw house show, the main event will be Cena vs Umaga. I don't think Umaga will win the title at a house show, but this might be part of a program between the two. Other matches they announced were Flair and HHH vs Orton and Edge, and Nitro vs Hardy.
-
He should've broken a bone or two. Umaga could have always just said Steve O wasn't selling, so he thought he wanted to be stiffed harder.

How can the zombie movie be shown uncut on basic cable?

Lions, Bucs, Titans all win this weekend, there's usually surprises all the time in football. That's why it's so much better than baseball and basketball. I'll start watching it after Raw, no reason why the show can't be like this every week (other than the celebrities even though those segments haven't been bad).

I'd like to see a book written by Brother Runt (Spike Dudley). I saw something posted on here from his website and it was just really well written. Didn't he teach English? I'll probably get this sometime, I still feel Bischoff has to take most of the blame for WCW, even if things like the Kiss demon and Rap is Crap might not have been his ideas. If they were, blame him more.

I wouldn't mind them doing more co-promoted shows all over the states, in Canada. Reduce costs, let the TNA logos still go up, just give a credit and a percentage to the local promoter actually hosting. I'm sure the promoter would love having a 8 or 10 wrestlers like AJ Styles and Rhino on the card, and drawing 1,000 instead of 100.

Has Kevin Sullivan ever considered an on the air role, if Abyss and James Mitchell eventually ever turn face, he'd be a good opposite manager.

10 Things I miss: 1-Kirk Angel 2-Tag Division 3-Feuds that don't just start and end without rhyme or reason 4-A list of contenders that makes sense 5-Top level wrestling other than Friday that kids can watch 6-Crowds popping for things besides the top stars, or divas 7-Saturday Night's Main Event, when it took the place of Saturday night live 8-Male managers 9-TBS wrestling at 6:05 on Saturdays 10-The days when a wrestler passing away was a surprise or shock

Sad. He was only around 35 years old, I'm thinking. He got to show more of his ability in Smoky Mountain and in Memphis than on WCW. Good talented wrestler, came along before the smaller guys really got much attention.

I can't someone that's been around as long as Jarrett not understanding he'll need to step back into the pack a bit, soon. Ego is one thing, but I'm sure he likes $$$ more.
-
I'd like Brown, if they just used him as a midcard heel and kept him off the mic.
-
He couldn't control the talent, opposite of Vince, for the most part.

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot

I found a tape in a box in the closet, just had WCW written on the label. I was hoping it could have Benoit, maybe Guerrero, even if Hogan, etc, it would be a major event. Nope. It was Nitro. Opened with a flashback to the week prior, with the Rap is Crap feud, Bagwell pinning Flair and it looked clean, just a short clip, the Hummer angle. Show opened, Savage and Sid showed up in the Hummer, Nash pulled up in a limo right after. Nash ran to see who the Hummer driver was but it pulled away. Then we got a performance by Master P. I had to turn it off, maybe there's more on there that's better but it reminded me of why I hated WCW at times. -
A pretty interesting spoiler from the Impact tapings...

Look for his match vs Savage, heel vs heel, from Saturday Night's Main Event. Should be around fall 86.
