    Shooting at Virginia Tech Campus

Are you missing the point that he would have done this, whether he obtained the gun or guns legally or illegally?

    Shooting at Virginia Tech Campus

The one who should be blamed is the shooter. I think that's getting lost in all of this.

    Run-A-Fed

Yeah, I didn't think I needed to start another since I'd be using the wrestlers given in the original post.

    Run-A-Fed

Having to start with show 1, but I can go from there hopefully: Show 1: 60 minutes with commercials. No intro, as we see announcers Mike Tenay and Joey Styles in the ring. Crowd, prompted just before the show started, is going nuts. Tenay welcomes everyone at home to Houston TX, for the first ever hour of Universal Wrestling. Crowd goes nuts again. Styles says he knows everyone doesn't want to see the announcers, they want wrestling, so he starts to give the first match, Perry Saturn vs Jerry Lynn-a first round heavyweight tournament title match. Of course, he's interrupted, and we hear "Pomp and Circumstance", the original. Down the aisle with full robe and ski glasses, and with the lovely Elizabeth, is Macho Man Randy Savage. The Macho Man orders Elizabeth to get a microphobne from ringside announcer Howard Finkel, then tells Tenay and Styles there won't be a tournament, because he deserves the belt. He's been WCW world champion, WWF world champion, Intercontinental champion, US champion, every champion of "every federation in the universe" and every other wrestler is wasting his time. Styles says he expected something like this, but thought it might be from others in the locker room. He replies there will be a tournament, Savage isn't getting the belt automatically, and if he doesn't like it, he can go back to rapping about ex-wrestlers he hates. Some of the fans in the audience get a kick out of the smart reference. After Savage leaps onto the apron and points, Styles quickly adds these aren't his words, they're coming from the back. Savage finally agrees, and heads back while still ordering Elizabeth around. (6:00) Opening credits feature most every wrestler and talent on the roster, with Savage, Sting, Michaels, Vicious and the Patriot getting most of it. No in-ring action in the credits, just cuts from backstage type promos and close ups with various backgrounds or lighting. Last scene is a shot of the Patriot at Arlington Memorial outside DC. (1:00) After music and introductions for each, Jerry Lynn and Perry Saturn square off in a great match. Tenay notes the wrestlers' backgrounds in ECW. Styles mentions they have wrestled in another leagues in the U.S., with a not so subtle "Saturn is mopping the floor" with Lynn when Saturn takes control late in the match. Mr JL is also brought up. Tenay says therel are two tag tournament matches and two singles tournament scheduled matches tonight. The end comes when Lynn misses a dive onto the floor, is rolled back in and Saturn makes him submit with Rings of Saturn. The announcers play up how Lynn controlled much of the match and might have never ended up in the Rings if not for the failed dive. (9:00) Commercial (3:00) In the back, Gene Okerlund interviews Savage. At first he wants to get Elizabeth's take, but Savage tells Okerlund he's the star, not her, and he'll knock Okerlund out if he tries that again. Savage says he should have been given the belt, he's the best wrestler in the world, and if it takes beating up everyone in Universal Wrestling, he'll do it. (Ooh, yeah). (1:30) Back to the ring, for the first match in the Universal tag tournament. The Nasty Boys are taking on Paul London and Jamie Noble. While London and Noble come to the ring, footage from a brief interview earlier in the night is aired. London and Noble tell Matthews they don't necessarily like each other, but they respect each other, and they know teaming up is the best way, right now, for them to get gold. London and Noble defeat the Nasty Boys in a semi-squash in 5:00. Tenay and Styles tell the viewers both the tag and singles tournaments are random draws. Tenay calls it a huge upset, and says they'll wrestle in the second round next week. (6:30) Commercial (3:00) Segment introducing Nathan Jones, his first appearance in the United States. As he walks down the street everyone looks at him then looks away quickly, intimidated. He runs into New Jack, who said he just had some time to kill before the show, and we see some "whitey" on the ground. "Who the f--k are you, Crocodile Dundee," New Jack says. Jones asks what the man did, and New Jack says "he looked at me". Jones laughs and says he likes New Jack's style and they walk off together. (2:30) Back to the ring for another singles tournament match, the Patriot vs Test. Southern crowd is huge into the Patriot, after telling Test he should go back to Canada. Test uses basic power moves to control early, Patriot comes back and uses some rather cheap shots to gain the advantage but Tenay says when you're in there with a powerhouse like Test, sometimes you have to just do what you can to win the match. No mention of Test's WWF past. Patriot ends up with the win and gets another loud ovation (5:30). In the back, London and Noble are discussing their win, and get a sincere congratulations from Shawn Micheals (huge pop when he's seen on the big screen). Michaels leaves and Torrie Wilson and Sunny arrive almost at the same time. Each was impressed, and each in her own way, says she could do "a lot" for the team. They leave and London and Noble are speechless. (2:00) Commercial (3:00) Segment introducing Carlito, who's only wrested in Puerto Rico until now. Carlito is on the beach, admiring the ladies and bragging, and tells everyone he's the son of the great Carlos Colon. But that doesn't matter, because "you idiots" don't know who Carlos Colon is, and besides "I'm better than him anyway." Carlito says he's coming to America to show everyone what cool is all about, forgetting Puerto Rico isn't a foreign country (2:30). Back to the ring, Tenay is pretty miffed about Carlito's disrespect toward the legendary Carlos Colon. The final match of the show is another in the tag tournament, Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane against Dean Malenko and Arn Anderson. Another great match with all four in perfect shape. Pretty clean until the end, with Anderson hitting Lane from behind the leg while the ref's back is turned and Malenko getting the submission with the cloverleaf. Anderson gives a strong promo about how he and Malenko will dominate the competition, while Styles wonders if a manager would not have helped the Midnight Express avoid Anderson's outside interference. (12:00) (Final segment) To the back, where Savage is still raising hell about not being awarded the belt. He turns over a water table, punches out Sonny Siaki who happened to be walking by, then really unloads from behind on Saturn, who won the opening match of the tournament. Styles says for him to stop, he's just learned who he'll be facing in the tournament next week. Savage is watching on a backstage monitor and Styles says he better lace those boots tight as his first round opponent is the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels. Savage then goes more nuts as the show ends.

    Run-A-Fed

I'll just go with most everyone in their prime or not too far after, unless it's a "debuting" wrestler according to my booking or it suits the storyline in other ways. To avoid getting any ideas, even without knowing it, I'll paste mine in here without looking at the others. I'll probably do a few shows at a time and see how it goes from there.

    Run-A-Fed

I've never filled out a fantasy booking card or TV program, but it looks like this might be fun or at least something to pass the time. One thing I"m confused on, what year is it as far as the talent in the original thread goes, or does that even matter.

    high school shenanigans

"I'm probably not going to win many over here but I think discipline is what anarchists are really fighting against, so I'm in favour of abolishing parental authority over children, abolishing schools and prisons and radically redesigning the workplace, family, and society, to eliminate discipline and punishment, because it just doesn't make any sense for anyone have the power to discipline others when all people are equals." That was truly the dumbest thing I've ever heard or read, and I've heard a lot. Congratulations. Why don't we abolish the prisons, and let the worst ones from the one nearest you move in with you? You're all equals, I'm sure you'll get along. "Does your conception of justice require that the guilty suffer?" Hell yes. If carried out properly it would be a deterrent.

School bans Myspace in school AND in home.

For me, it's less about keeping them from communicating with strangers, they know better and they're not stupid or lonely, it's more about learning what might be going in their lives-party this weekend, some kid is going to get his ass whipped at school the next day, anything like that. Call me old but I also just want them to be respectful including to their friends or other people they know at school. I"ve not found anything too awful yet, just got them to stop cussing every other word because it might look cool, or whatever. Two are on a friends only system, the younger one doesn't have it yet no matter how much she complains. Those of you worried about the privacy, if the kid had drugs, a gun, stolen money or anything like that hid in a bedroom, would it be bad to look and find it because it was a privacy invasion? I bet parents of school shooters wish they'd been more nosey and I bet none of them ever thought their kids would be involved in something like that.

    Opinions That Changed

Some of the thing just reinforced what I already knew or had heard, but over time I had less sympathy for some regional promoters who went out when McMahon got huge. At the very least, some of them could have lasted longer and still made a profit for a while, with better decisions and more imagination.

What kind of bumps has Hornswaggle taken, maybe he could do something memorable Sunday.

School bans Myspace in school AND in home.

If you have a kid with a myspace account, check it every now and then, or create your own account and have them put you on their friends. That might require more parenting than some want to put into it. If you don't know enough about computers to do that then learn it or don't let them have internet. Too easy.

    Risk of Blood Diseases

I'm surprised the refs don't wear the latex gloves to make things seem more legit. I'm wanting to say some wrestlers got sick from a nasty ring in one of the territories a while back, maybe Portland?

oAo WWE Raw 3/19/2007 (13 days until WM23)

I'd love to see a heel turn with Cryme Time. Let them come out and tell the fans all their skits were just made up, but the fans believed they were really like that because they're racists, etc. Gangstas 2007, sure, but random violence might get the fans interested at least. Build them up and eventually turn them faces again but keeping the thug attitudes.

All PPVs Returning to Multi-Brand Format

Keep the split, have one World champ and one duo as World tag champs. Defend on Raw and Smackdown, and on ECW have title defenses with "ECW rules (no rules)." IC title, US title and ECW title, plus tag titles with each of those names could be specific to each brand.

The One and Only Batman Begins thread

I want to say I read Holmes was replaced at least in part because Cruise's War of the Worlds movie was getting more publicity than Batman, even when she was interviewed about Batman Cruise would come up. I"m not the biggest fan of fantasy type movies but I liked this one, liked the overall realism.

Critics angry about Book It program

Sonic, other fast food places in our area do the same type things, more for good behavior and participation in clubs, etc, than academics but it's appreciated. 30 pizzas in 30 days, a problem, one extra pizza a month, or one total, not an issue. Look at the people causing the fuss, typical college professor types.
