ECW on Sci-Fi - September 16, 2008

I just want to see Jack Swagger in a longer match. I wonder if they'll bring in enhancement for him to squash, or just feed him Gavin Spears. Spears and Swagger must have wrestled each other in FCW, as Jack was champ and Spears was a top card guy. Swagger does need to come out in a warm-up jacket - the look worked for him in developmental. -

London is a better worker than Spanky, but he has an enemy in Vince for smiling in the "Who Killed Vince" walk of shame, with Vince thinking he was trying to put himself over as a potential suspect because everybody else was supposed to be sullen. I think he'd be better off getting released at this point, head back to a big ROH welcome and then maybe look for Japanese tours. JBL saying somebody looked too much like a midcarder? JBL that's your whole career. -

Not just new talent who got their start in FCW either. WWE let CM Punk keep his name, yet they change Colt Cabana's name to fucking Scotty Goldman and job him out. In the case of Goldman, the wwe specifically gave him that name because I guess they wanted a Jewish wrestler. Do we have our new Barry Horowitz? Should Scotty start patting himself on the back? Punk only kept his name because of Heyman. How is Randy Savage any better than Trent Baretta? The Ultimate Warrior is actually pretty damn lame when you think about it - I mean if they had introduced Jack Swagger instead as simply "the Kickass Fighter", well I'd think that was lame as hell. Byron Sexton and Carson Oakley absolutely suck, no getting around that. Tyson Tarver is badass (and a nice boxing shoutout). -
Nic Nemeth actually had talent to move up the card. Dolph Ziggler is a ridiculous name that will hamper any chance of him ever making it. I expected a eurotrash accent, there was nothing other than his name.

Developmental Eric Perez wrestled a dark match last night as Eric Escobar, and Nic Nemeth debuted on Raw as Dolph Ziggler. -

FCW wrestlers underwent name changes almost en masse. I guess they don't want to put pressure on the wwe writers to come up with ring names after they came up with Gavin Spears and Scotty Goldman most recently. Brain Kelly - Byron Sexton Kevin Kiley - Carson Oakley Lupe Martinez - Damien Santiago Imani Lee - "Pretty Boy" Nelson Roy Health Miller - Sebastian Slater Gabe Tuft - Taj Milano Greg Jackson - Trent Barretta Tyrone Jones - Tyson Tarver Daisy - Wesley Holiday -

I'd just be happy with triple threat elimination matches rather than single fall. -

They're supposed to be on television by now - nothing national, but a local Florida station. -

Heyman would have had fans begging for a Joe vs Angle match, and would have held it off for a year. Heyman had to book the way he did because one bad week of shows could have been their last. Also he didn't have the in-ring talent necessary to make a PPV worth while, so it was basically a two hour television show that you had to pay for. If you think Heyman and ECW was nothing more than swearing, TNA and garbage matches, well I can tell you never watched ECW in it's heyday. -

FCW needs to get on television. Fans can follow along and get involved, and I think some folks get a kick out of seeing themselves on television in the crowd. You get on TV, you get on youtube and you start getting fans from across the country. -

Heyman would need complete creative control, with only Dixie Carter to answer to. I think Heyman and Dixie would work well together actually, Russo and the rest of the bookers would have to be fired en masse. I think Heyman would come back for the right price - I think he is itching to come back, and I think he'd love to take on McMahon, especially Stephanie, with Carter's money. -

Umm...no. That screwball ring is about the size of my kingsize bed. And if it was in reference to the fact that TNA would let them go all out, I'd rather have it in an ROH ring. -
Discussion: The Undertaker

I like Ted Jr, and think there is a storyline there given his father initially bringing in the Undertaker. In the very least there would be certain drama of "Will UT really lose...", which would be a nice change. -

Not if he debuts as a tag team with TJ Wilson. Canadian Bulldogs vs Primo and Carlito would be a pretty damn good feud. Throw in MNM and there is a bunch of matches I'd love to see. -

All the announcers had to do was say Adamle forgot to send in the contract paperwork because he was too busy catering to the top guys and Vickie swooped in and signed Primo. Voila. Carlito looked like shit. Pure shit. Primo looked great in his spurts and I've always been a mark for leg sweeps for whatever reason. Release Carly and call up Eric Perez. Also they need to do something with their Tron, because "The Colons" isn't going to work in English speaking countries. Is there an accent that could be added to the spelling at least? At least Goldman is on television - while he was squashed, he looked good doing it ie really sold the offense well. I'll never care about Koslov though. Big Show is putting on all the weight that he had lost. -

TNA should let Sting walk and let Angle and Nash walk, take all that money and beg Heyman to take over the book for them. -
Discussion: The Undertaker
Thanks for the Fish replied to milliondollarchamp's topic in The WWE Folder
Undertaker vs HHH backstage powerplay was predicted once HHH landed on SD! with the draft. Taker and HHH don't really have any relationship other than a professional one and never particularly got alone - Taker is the lockerroom leader (I guess comparable to a union boss) and HHH is management - it could get really interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if this is HHH's way to get back on Raw. HHH hasn't been interesting as an on-screen character literally in years. Undertaker will retire before losing his streak to HHH - I have no doubt about that. -

I wonder if there will be any explanation for the Primo jump. Probably something to the effect that adamle never got around to finishing his contract paperwork or something - because the gimmick is Adamle is all about the big names to the detriment of any undercard guys. Eric Perez should be up and giving Carlito a faction, along with Primo. Primo and Eric could tag team and Carly could be the singles guy. -

Jack Swagger is going to be a player in the business if he has the mic skills. JR must be hating that Hager debuted on ECW instead of SD! and was given a ring name so JR can't wax poetic about Hager's Sooner roots. -

I don't have issue with Punk losking it, but the way he lost it. I'd rather have had him in the match and Orton interfered to take him out. And with Cena removed, they would have used an "Adamle Surprise", though if the surprise was hyped and turned out to be Jericho, fans might have been pissed after bigger names were "rumored". I don't know why Jericho/HBK needs the title, other than it's the best feud in wrestling right now and Punk was overshadowed by it. I like the idea of a Orton/Punk feud, as well as Punk vs Dibiase, Punk vs Rhodes (not so much punk vs Manu), and the non-Orton aspects of the feud couldn't have happened with Punk as World Champion because the kids are still too far down the card and the feud/matches are not world title "money" matches. Punk will probably gain from chasing the title now, he was rather a lame duck with it because fans never really accepted him with it and he was booked to look weak. He's been minted as an upper carder with a title run, now he needs to hang there for awhile. Christian jumping back would be great. I think it's a toss-up right now what he does though. I think he could figure to want one last run with the WWE, though don't know if the WWE could match the TNA offer assuming they are offering Sting money along with the better schedule. Of course Christian left money on the table when he left the WWE, maybe he'll do it again to go back. He's really got nothing left in TNA feudwise, though I wonder if WWE would want him or just wants him away from TNA. I mean would he be a top tier ME type talent in WWE or always seen as Marty Janetty to Edge's HBK? -
Manu looks like shit. He really doesn't fit with Rhodes and Dibiase. Joe Hennig or DH Smith would have been 100x better. How can they shit on Morishima for a bad look when you have Manu looking like a fat biker.
