Well I assumed that choosing the name Ortiz meant the wrestler was Latin American, or at least of that descent. So if you take a Spanish-speaking wrestler with big puffy hair one might consider that gimmick infringement or auditioning for your replacement given Carly's heat with the power brokers.

I agree, but HHH will see through it come the PPV so he'll be ready for it. I think they're pushing back the wedding because UT was supposed to cause havoc at it and Edge is busy with HHH right now. Either that or the storyline has been dropped because SD! is now a HHH-centric show.

Someone like Ashley can find work. And get $25K a night for it too! Probably more because she is a quasi-celebrity rather than just a playmate.

There will have to be more to this story. Hayes was said to be a big fan of Murdoch and requested him over to SD! at the recent draft. Also he was Harley Race's top student, and Race once put him over saying he and CM Punk were the future of the business. Race is held in high regard by the wwe.

It's a gimmick, I don't get what the big deal is. I don't think the wwe has shows in Ghana or Jamaica so it will never be a crowd issue. Maybe Kofi is a sleeper agent sent in to the wwe by Prince Nana as part of a dastardly plan to take over...

I hate him already. He seems like a guy who wants to play a wrestler on tv rather than being a wrestler. He's like a guy who saw wrestling on tv when he was a youngster and said "I can do that" and is playing the part of what he thinks a pro-wrestler is like - if that makes any sense. He's a guy with no charisma but has funny hair to and make up for it, has himself inked up to be interesting and then dances around or acts all crazy and thinks that makes him have charisma.

My guess is a heel Batista. I'd go with face Cena. Batista heels soon after leading to the extended Cena/Batista program that leads to WM25.

It's quite obviously a Pink Floyd "Money" rip-off, and while I didn't necessarily hate it for Dibiase as a singles wrestler, it's horrid for the team and potential faction. It reminds me too much of Conway's music. Regarding Santino as Ali G - Christian Has him beat here -

I have literally no desire to watch ECW anymore. I guess I would like to see the new Elijah Burke gimmick, but other than that it offers me nothing. I'll read the spoilers to see if there is a Burke appearance or a new developmental debut worth tuning in for. Reading the spoilers there is a developmental debut tonight -

How did the show run before the evil authority figure? I remember Jack Tunney being called in to settle big pressing issues once in a while via video and then Gorilla Monsoon but other than that was it just assumed there was an unseen authority running things behind the scenes? Vince should go missing, taking a full year off, with the storyline being "Where's Vince?" One of the former writers has mentioned that Gewirtz(or whatever the hell his name is) has pushed for McMahon to take time off in the past and then reappear one show with full beard and such and play more of a Howard Hughes character. I think that would be perfect right now. Vince walks away and nobody hears from him, and the "board of directors" makes the off-screen decisions in his absence.

Nobody will care about a Dibiase/Rhodes vs Holly/Haas feud. Then again take Haas out from the equation and nobody gives a damn to begin with. I don't think there is really anybody you could pair with Holly that would make me give a damn. Looking at the Raw roster I guess Jamie Noble would make the most entertainment sense. They'd have a certain Head Cheese vibe to them. Developmental James "KC James" Curtis would fit well enough, but that team would lack any pizazz. I think both MDM and Dusty are going to have to get involved to spice up this feud some way some how. I wonder if we could see some sort of three vs three match next week teaming Cena and Cryme Tyme vs JBL and two partners. I could see JBL teaming with Dibiase and Rhodes and it would set up a Cryme Tyme vs Rhodes/Dibiase feud. This would be casting aside Holly and making him look like a chump. What about Dibiase using his money to have Holly moved to SD! This way Holly could keep his heat in that he'd never get his chance at revenge and fans wouldn't be bored to tears with a Holly and Partner vs Tag Champs feud.

There was an audible CM Punk chant later in the match. As has been mentioned, I think the crowd was chanting Cena to take out the security goons and/or make sure Punk didn't drop the title to JBL. And while the crowd might have been watching the ringside brawl initially, they did pop for the three count, so they knew what was going on in the ring. Cena is one of the top names in the company, if the wwe is expecting Punk to out-pop Cena then they are just setting him up for failure.

Dibiase and Rhodes are going to flop as champions because they don't have any over competition. I guess they could feud with Cryme Tyme, and Holly is likely to come back for revenge with a tag partner, but neither will get the interest. Unless they have plans for Spanky and/or London as singles, they probably should have kept them together on Raw. Of course both probably deserve a singles opportunity and their tag run was stale always losing since moving to Raw, but Raw is really hurting for tag teams right now. Edge's entrance during the JR segment was kickass as well. He steps through the smoke and a step or two behind him his jackals emerge wearing the same clothing. That had to be my favorite "little thing" on Raw last night.

Punk needs to lead off the show with a promo segment next week. I think he needs to explain that he had too much respect for HHH or Cena to use it at NOC, but Edge is a dick and one the title twice by using MITB at the most opportune times, so what goes around comes around. Punk's promo ability will go a large way in seeing how long he possibly keeps the title. It could be transitional and he could lose it at GAB, or they could give him a summer run and have him lose it at Summer Slam. It's one month or two, but he's not going to hold it long, I hope he gets to defend it every week against the upper midcard types just to make him a fighting champion. I think there is a possibility that they keep Cena and Batista out of the title picture for the summer, since they're already pegged to wrestle each other at WM25, barring injury.

Yeah martial law / Prison rules a few more weeks and all hell breaks lose to the point where a new GM has to be named. And since Vince is out of commission the "Board" rehires their last GM - King Regal.
