Why use a worked firing on someone that nobody outside of the internet really knows? It would be like doing a worked firing of Seth Skyfire. Stephanie threw a conniption fit that the Jericho return was leaked...
-
I still half believe that Teddy Hart's firing was a work and that HF2.0 will debut at Survivor Series...
-
I wonder if that means we could see a title change in the ME...

It wastes time because he is feuding with Ron Simmons, Val Venis and Steve Austin - Two are long retired and Venis hasn't been pushed in years. -

This might be a case of blaming the writers for the crap, but not giving them credit for the good, but I always figured that when Santino's underdog face character floped the writers lost interest and turned him heel as an afterthought with much less direction and Santino has run with the chance. There is a lot of little things he does and says that you can tell isn't scripted and I think that initial freedom came from the bookers not giving a damn, and now that it's working they're letting him run with it. Rocky Miavia and Kurt Angle were both bland babyfaces who took off when they turned heel, though to be fair that was the plan for Angle all along. I also would stay away from the Mafia storyline route - they tried that with Nunzio, Vito and Stambouli/Palumbo. Eventhough every Italian thinks they have Mafia connections, most don't. I think Santino could threaten it, but it would never materialize and he's have some excuse all of the time. Santino's playing the other Italian stereotype...the sleazy womanizing douchebag big talker. -

Taker probably decided that if he wasn't going to sell his arm being hurt, that he's really hurt his arm. He probably didn't plan on injuring it though. Of course there will be no ramifications as Undertaker is untouchable and Masters is replaceable. Masters couldn't even stick up for himself in the match (stiff the Undertaker back) because it would have been a career ender, and he would have probably got beat up backstage. Who really watches for selling and such at house shows? I mean wouldn't it have been easier to pull him aside after the match backstage and tell him he's gotta sell the arm even when he's not in the ring? -

But with Raw seen as the pinnacle, why would you not strive to be as great as Raw is? Doing anything different is just rejecting the perfection that is Raw... -
Kennedy got over initially because of his "Mr Kennedy....Kennedy" bit and the Greenbay Plunge finisher. I like the idea that he tries to make matches look more real, however that doesn't work when you're wrestling a smaller man like HBK, because it makes said person look bad and you certainly don't want to do that. When he's wrestling bigger guys who can manhandle him around, his "making it look more real" bits work. I'm not comparing Punk to HBK, but Kennedy and Punk had shoddy matches for the same reason as Punk can't actually carry Kennedy around. I wonder if Kennedy's "working heavy" actually hurt Cena as Cena was expecting his opponent to flip through the hiptoss, whereas Kennedy expects to be carried through it to a certain extent. Who wants to bet we get a Hardcore Holly vs Ken Kennedy feud in the near future.

Update - PWinsider is reporting that Sci-Fi has agreed to continue to carry ECW for another year, though 2008. I wonder if the talent swapping open door policy will cease or VKM had to make certain promises to get the deal renewed.

Bret has been quoted as saying that his addiction to sex probably saved his life. While other wrestlers chose drugs and booze, his vice was the ladies. It does sound weird hearing Bret talk so frankly about his conquests though - kinda crass. So much for the great Canadian hero persona. -
With WWE trying to prop up the ECW ratings in an attempt to get ECW renewed on Sci-Fi, I wonder why Kane gets to be the point man in said endeavor. I understand that the wwe feels that he would have more of a connection with the regular Sci-Fi crowd because of his horror movie and all, but is he really a draw? I guess we'll find out tonight. Please make this Balls/Kelly storyline stop already. I can't be the only one who finds it painful to watch. I think there is a decent chance Johnny Jeter debuts tonight - I wonder what silly trademarkable name they stick him with. Maybe Marek Jeter... I hope we get a Nunzio vs Elijah Burke match tonight, I don't care if we all know the outcome, just make it a competitive match. Would it be too much to ask for Finlay to get ECW duty this week, facing off against CM Punk? You could even have a non-finish with Miz and Morrison crashing the match. If you really wanted to impress me you could then turn it into a tag team match pitting Miz and Morrison against Punk and Finlay. That would be my ECW line-up - Punk vs Finlay to open the show, turns into a tag team match vs Miz and Morrison Elijah Burke vs Nunzio Jeter vs Thorn Kane vs Big Daddy V
-
Because Balls/Kelly Kelly is so damn compelling, we're going to get Mickie James and Trevor Murdoch on the flagship?

I wish Nunzio had a higher profile in ECw because he is exactly the wily veteran talent that the young'uns should be wrestling regularly on the house show circuit. I'm not saying he should be a contender, but he should win matches on occasion. However with the shallowness of ECW's roster, you're either a contender or a jobber, there really isn't any mid-card. Maybe the new roster sharing will help in this area, however I don't see Nunzio going over any "borrowed" SD! talent any time soon. In actuality this could hasten his dismissal. -

There's a Sunny interview floating around where she explains the "Sunny Days" HBK vs Bret Hart feud. Basically she says that nobody knows this but she and HBK were together for nine months and broke up shortly before the comment and Shawn thought she and Hart had something going on as the reason for their break-up, which Sunny flatly denies. Sunny explains that she was the only tourning Diva at the time so she got her own dressing room and Hart was an extreme loner and asked her if he could use her dressing room when she wasn't in it because he didn't want to be around the rest of the boys. She said it wasn't a big deal as she was hardly in the DR, and her and Bret were friends( just friends), and when she needed it he'd leave sorta deal. Anyways that's the story, at least her side of it. Speaking of slutty former Diva's - Sunny got around quite a bit in the old ecw lockeroom. Sandman tells stories of walking in on her and Sabu on a few occasions, with Sabu usually trading pain killers for a BJ, one time with Joey (Mercury) Matthews there watching, and all the while Chris Candido was running around asking anybody if they knew where Tammy(Sunny) was. -
Harry Smith was rumored to debut at todays tapings. However with the ECW/SD! merger, I wonder if that has been dropped.
-
Call me nuts, but I like the idea of the SD!/ECW merger of sorta. It opens up a ton of fresh match possibilities... I don't like the random Nunzio/Burke pairing though, at least Burke walked out.

Batista is a no-talent hoss and is damn lucly he could suck up to HHH with his body building background enough that he got handpicked to join Evolution and now since HHH sees him as his legacy of sorts he's untouchable. -

I don't think it is relevant if OVW/DSW/FCW is a bad developmental, it is a wwe developmental none the less. O'Reilly has been in the developmental system for over two years and Krissy Vaine was in developmentals for a year and a half. I believe the standard developmental deal is a little over $35,000/year, so while the two didn't get rich they did make a living while training and working out as a full time job. I wouldn't have a beef if they decided to leave the business, however I think it's shady that they want to take those two years of development and head to a competitor. -
