WWE General Discussion - October 2007
Thanks for the Fish replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
Both were due for a call-up - meaning wwe paid them to train and get them "television ready" and once they're ready to use them they bail with designs on going to a competitor. That's some shady shit. -
TNA wrestlers planning to confront Dixie Carter

I wonder if the Angle led group is angling for Heyman to be brought in... -

Probably using them to flesh out their roster. SD! is touring with the rest of the ECW roster overseas as well. -
Not to mention Finlay vs Undertaker is a fresh feud and would very likely be 100x better match than Taker/Batista...
-
Burchill alone would be a better deal with Taylor, as Galloway screams babyface to me, whereas Burchill and Taylor are more the barroom brawler/street tough vein. Should have brought in Nigel McGuinness, he and Burchill would be an absolutely bad ass team. So what will the UK Survivor Series team look like - Finlay/Taylor/Burchill/Galloway or Taylor/Burchill/Galloway/Highlanders...

Or a bigger, taller Brian Kendrick...

I'm really digging Jeter going to ECW as he was on my "Developmantals I'd like to see in ECW" shortlist, however it looks like the wrestler atop said list - Paul Burchill - is still heading to SD! I got my hopes up when Drew Galloway debuted being managed/seconded by Dave Taylor that maybe the Burchill/Taylor tag team that had been touring househows and dark matches had been dropped. Sadly Burchill is just going to be part of a faction along with Taylor and Galloway. ECW still needs about 3-4 more developmental call-ups. -

Johnny Jeter is a good choice to head to ECW in that he can pull off a face character - something the ecw roster desperately needs. While he was a heel in the Spirit Squad he played an effective top babyface for a run in OVW. Krissey Vaine and Ryan O'Reilly are morons. She isn't the first to be overwhelmed with travel and quit, however she's been on the road for what a whole two weeks tops? And I don't think O'Reilly would have ended up debuting on Raw, they just don't have room for debuting rookies. I'm wondering if the crazy kids have something in the works with TNA. -
KC James imminent call-up was telegraphed after he recently lost a hair match in OVW (wwe seemingly hates long hair save for a few "chosen ones"). I get more of an old school southern heel vibe off of him... However if it was a quasi-squash, maybe he's just getting enhancement work...

ECW needs a face infusion. And if they debut a wrestler into the title picture it would have to be an already established re-debut of sorts.
-
Rumor had the title going back to Morrison as soon as he returned. BDV could cost Punk the title, giving them a solid enough non-title based secondary feud. However who then would Morrison feud with over the title?
-
Here's hoping for some new blood on ECW this week. Paul Burchill would be nice...
-
With Drew Galloway debuting with Dave Taylor instead of Paul Burchill who has been teaming with Taylor in dark matches and house shows, maybe there is hope for Burchill to debut in ECW as a singles wrestler.

I wonder if Atlas didn't know who he was and thought he was a developmental worker. One would assume that some roadie from SD! or ECW would have relayed the "no tape" office edict to Punk if it exists. Still all of the old timers stick together and the roadies will probably have Punk lose to Striker this week in a non-title bout or something. Why is Punk working OVW shows anyways? Is there a message there in the first place? If it was a developmental worker thumbing his nose at Atlas - assuming he was there on the behlaf of the wwe office - I could understand why he would take it as a slight. -

I don't understand Ted Dibiase Jr. fits at all. Besides how can you have two Teds in the group? I'm betting only Nattie, Harry and Teddy Hart will get the debut, though TJ Wilson will be brought in sooner or later. I believe Wilson is engaged to Nattie, so he'll have a legit branch on the Hart Family Tree. I guess Dibiase could fill the "Friend of the Family" role that Pillman filled, however Pillman trained in the dungeon and debuted with Stampede so his connection was legit. I guess if Dibiase Jr is legit friends of the New Harts it makes certain sense. He is 3rd generation as well... I'd rather Jack Evans be brought in if the HF needs a fifth member, too bad he's a cruiserweight. Teddy Hart and TJ Wilson are cruisers as well, with only Harry providing the size. -

I agree that the "sports entertainers" are all on Raw these days. However instead of playing up to their strengths and putting on a kickass wrestling show, VKM gave Hayes an edict to make SD! more like Raw i.e. more "entertainment" and less wrestling. -

It could be a three-way trade - Umaga to ECW to reunite with A(A)E Mark Henry to Raw and... Big Daddy V to SD! Striker could use BDV to bully Estrada into doing what he wants, however then Estrada could trade BDV away for his charge Umaga, and then Striker will be up shit creek without a shit paddle. -
I think JBL is much more valuable on color commentary truth be told.
-
Just what Raw needs - another big name. And over on SD! we have Batista the friggin champ again, with Khali, Mark Henry and Undertaker as his challengers. If an Non-McMahon was filling Stephanie's role as head of creative they would have been fired a long time ago. It's the writing that sucks, stupid. Only way I'll be at all excited about a Jericho return is if he has a secure spot on the writing committee and Hogan-like control of his character. Didn't Teddy Hart say on his myspace that he was heading up to a main roster in October? Could this be a Hart Foundation 2.0 debut promo? Or is it Jericho or bust?
-
I figured Umaga would make his way into the cage and destroy HHH, however with his suspension another week yet I guess Carlito just gets squashed.

Homicide would probably go back to ROH with the contracts they are able to offer now. Wwe had their chance and passed on him before and nothing has really changed with him since then. Recent house show accounts have "Redrum" wrestling Val Venis. Redrun is a masked Johnny Stambouli - here's a pic of the former Johnny The Bull under the gimmick from Impact Zone Wrestling - -

Anybody who watches Raw is a glutton for punishment these days. It's just brutal, brutal television. Vince McMahon doesn't like tag team wrestling because it takes double the wrestlers and thus double the salary to fill the same timeslot on the programming. -
Paul Heyman officially done with WWE
Thanks for the Fish replied to Enigma's topic in The WWE Folder
TNA is doing well enough to get a second hour, I don't think they'll make a move for Heyman any time soon. However the only homegrown star they've made is Abyss and Joe and to a lesser extent AJ Styles - that's it. And Joe could have been so much bigger if handled properly. LAX was well on it's way before Konnan left the company. The X-Division is an afterthought. It's All Angle all the time, with generous heapings of Sting, and Christian thrown in. I think Heyman is likely done with pro-wrestling. His WWECW booking was nothing to write home about, but you don't know how much creative freedom/control he really had. Maybe if Russo gets burnt out again and wants out - I mean Cornette would be fired in an instant if that's all that was needed to bring Heyman in. What does Kurt Angle think of Paul E. that is a key question when considering the Heyman to TNA possibility. Dixie Carter basically does what Angle requests. I don't think Heyman likes the six-sided ring - he thinks it a gimmick and different just for the sake of being different.
