Well Carlito isn't 7'3" 420lbs or a woman who got nekkid for Playboy - That's the business. If I was Vince I'd let him go back to Daddy's promotion.

OAO WrestleMania 23 Thread-April 1st, 2007

For whatever reason, it always has been. Even in appearances where Undertaker was a booking afterthought or the heel, Detroit has always loved the guy and pops like hell for him. -
Carlito is nothing. His matches are piss poor. If he didn't have the hair he would have never even got over upon his debut.

I think D-Ray messed up his shoulder on that MVP Finisher. He didn't rotate with the move and it looked like his shoulder was wrenched something fierce. -

Meltzer has said as of a couple of days ago HBK Vs Cena was going to Main Event the show. What does that do to predictions both in the UT vs Batista match and the HBK/Cena match? This would open the door to Batista retaining and would also allow HBK to go over and win the title as well. Does wwe not realize that Detroit is Undertaker country AND Detroit is going to have a fair share of Canadian fans attending (read You Screwed Bret!!)? WWE has room for more matches but choose not to add anymore. MITB only needed to be six wrestlers, and they could have easily left two out to be included in a singles match if they so desired. Now I love epic long matches IF the wrestlers involved can keep me interested. Just because a match is given 20+ minutes doesn't mean it is necessarily a good thing. -
Ooh, ooh, look inside, it's NOTES! What kind of notes?

I read elsewhere that the reason why Deuce and Domino have been depushed is because they don't like how they sell the hot tag, among other in-ring complaints. I expect Cherry to be dropped from the duo sooner than later as well. Kane needing time off tells me he's doing the monster job for Khali at WM. However could they have it a no contest.double DQ sort of deal to set-up a blow off match at the next PPV? I'd love to see Khali take the hook to Kane's face, only to have him come back with the mask when he is healthy... -

I was having trouble putting the card in order, but I think you did it perfectly. My concern was seperating the two title matches with something - either Kane/Khali, New Breed vs Originals or the Diva's and none fit the spot. However I'm sure the wwe will introduce the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2007 in between the two title matches to give the fans a breather. -

Why was the crowd behind Booker? Just sounds really strange to me. What site did you get these from? I think that's a typo because Gerweck has these exact same spoilers up and has a further "Biggest pops" and "Most Heat" ranking and has Punk getting the biggest pop and Booker 5th most heel heat. The show doesn't sound nearly as good as Raw was, but I'll tune in just to catch Punk vs Booker. I'm disapppointed that they didn't add another match or two to WM. That leaves eight matches for the four hour PPV. With names like Carlito, Nitro, Flair, Helms, Masters, London, Kendrick, Chavo Guerrero being left off the card completely. -
I don't mind their choices for the "Big Nine" however I HATE the idea that they'll appear on virtually every PPV. That is a terrible idea, because if they are going to be on every PPV it means they're going to be in every top feud and probably on every damn show - that's basically killing the brand split and is going to overexpose all of those wrestler in no time at all. This is a terrible decision by the WWE Braintrust. At MOST there should be five of the Big Nine on any one PPV, but even then they're still so damn focused on the main event. Maybe push the undercard and they'll help sell the card. VKM thinks that "Hey Ortiz vs Liddell II did monster buys, that proves that HBK vs HHH 34 is all that is needed as well". What Vince fails to realize is that their first meeting was two years earlier and that was only their second meeting ever. If they want to increase PPV buys, maybe they should reduce the numbers and/or cut the price. Also when they push workrate over in-ring wrestling, what's really the selling point of PPV's when you can find out the storyline advancement on line or hear about what happened the next night on Raw. If they focused on selling and pushing workrate, then PPV's promising an epic Benoit vs Undertaker encounter might sell. However when the outcome is the only thing that matters, with the actual match nothing but window dressing, why shell out $40 bucks for that? I think the wwe should virtually do the opposite - never have the "Big Nine" wrestle on free-television. If he wants to copy the UFC, The UFC never gives away free Liddell matches or free Couture matches unless they are years old. Theu use Ultimate Fight Nights to build up new talent and use The Ultimate Fighter to find/espose new talent. They should push the undercard on the shows, make the midcard titles mean something and make PPV's a big deal as the only place you can see the big name stars. Of course this would help the house show business as well as the Big Nine could also tour there AND by pushing the undercard on the television programs, the undercard would be draws as well.

The OAO Raw Hot Sell for WM 23 (March 26th)

I think there is going to be two more matches added to the card on SD! You can't have eight matches on a four hour card, especially with Kane/Khali and Ashley/Melina. I think we'll see a CW match and a Tag Team Invitational of some sorts which would pretty much get everybody on the card. -

Also worth noting that post-Mania houseshow cards have World Champion Batista fighting Ken Kennedy. So Batista goes over and Kennedy wins MITB?? Batista goes over and the crowd will shit all over it. -

There is a possibility that Trump becomes the heel - and they didn't give him a big enough face in order to protect against that either. I wonder if they have contingency plans - maybe a HHH appearance or something. Then again Austin could have been the contingency plan. -
I love how they feel they need to book WWE talent or ex-talent in order to get the fans there. Why not book AJ Styles or Samoa Joe or even Kurt Friggin' Angle?? I don't blame the wwe for pulling their talent, as you never know if TNA would film it to use as an angle. Besides, even if it's just business, wwe and the Dudleys are not on best of terms.

Detroit is definitely Undertaker Country as well - if Taker does lose, I think the fans will really riot. -

I think Lashley was supposed to kick out of the Samoan Drop. Actually I think he did "kick out" however Vince didn't "sell" it and the ref had no choice but to finish the count. Vince was probably expecting a more forceful kickout. There is no way he was supposed to job to the SD and then have a beatdown after the pin and then pin him again. -

I'd love to see Punk at Raw tonight being that it is in his hometown. The womens match is setting up the eventual LumberJill stipulation for the Melina vs Ashley match at WM23. I think that is probably a good idea as Ahhley is garbage and Melina isn't able to carry her competition to passable matches. -
I doubt she'll be on-camera, and wouldn't want her to be unless she was coming back (which she certainly is not at this time). She's probably just at fan axxess events (with the other legends) and such, though I could see her emcee'ing the Hall of Fame, as I believe she did emcee'd some Canadian awards show.

Sabu probably felt that he had to make up for arriving late and without his luggage (reason why he wore Daivari's ring gear).

Rebecca was a horrid backstage interviewer and to be honest there was something strange about her - though I can't put my finger on it, something with her eyes.

If they want to wrestle in an open air facitlity they should at least head somewhere with a retractable roof in case of bad weather. Isn't the new Dallas Cowboy stadium going to have a retractible roof? Why not wait a couple years until that is built.

If there wasn't the possibility of being raped or otherwise assaulted I don't think Prison would have nearly as much as a deterrent effect. Taking away ones freedom, when many are coming from nothing anyways isn't really a deterrant. If the state was allowed to make prison time harder, prisoner on prisoner violence wouldn't be needed to act as THE deterrent.

I love it - it's neato to play to the smarks with the Mike Hickenbottom and Paul Levesque insider shoots and such, and A-O-K when Roadie and Assman head to WWE to get a TNA chant, but when it turns around and bites them in the ass they get all bent out of shape.
