WWE General Discussion - February 2008
JPopStarKami replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
Hey guys, I have a question for anybody who knows or anybody who has experience in the business, preferrably WWE. What does it take to book a show? What's the process you have to go through, and why are there so many writers doing a particular show, etc. -

WWE just sent me a survey e-mail. There were radio buttons next to all of them but I couldn't copy it exactly, if the link works for anyone else here it is: http://www.wweresearch.com/se.ashx?s=0B88014006B70EF0 They all suck. ^^; -

Cena/HHH/Hardy is doable for me. -
No, Stone Cold said that first, when Steph was faking her pregnancy back in 2000.

That victory was presented as a fluke. And directly after the match HHH was even LAUGHING about it to show it didn't matter to him, which made Jeff look even more weak. Add to that HHH not even talking about it the next night on Raw. I don't think Jeff even mentioned it, either. I know Jeff was being pushed towards Orton, but if it was that big of a deal, why wasn't Hunter talking about or at least acting like he was upset over losing to Hardy? If HHH didn't think losing to Jeff was a big deal, why should we? I think you're looking into it too much. HHH wasn't upset because he was proud of Jeff in kayfabe. -

I dunno where you heard that, but if HHH was gonna bury him, he wouldn't have put him over at Armageddon. -

I think we're jumping to conclusions really fast here. Even if Hunter does win the chamber, and Jeff goes to MITB, who else could really win it? Let's call him the new RVD only if he does get pushed down to the midcard again. Right now, he's still in the main event scene. If WWE didn't think he was hot they wouldn't have put him in the chamber in the first place. -

It'd be nice but WWE doesn't do 'new'. They push the same tired stale main eventers. Still, I'd love to see a four way. Maybe Jeff wins MITB and cashes it in before Cena/Orton/HHH so that he's added to the mix in a surprise, OR he can win the chamber. -

Sid? Although he was in talks earlier. I wouldn't call Sid a flop, granted he didn't live up to his full potential, but I think he did better in the WWE then anywhere else, plus if he was World champion and headlined Wrestlemania, hardly flop material. Maybe it's Scott Steiner? He was heavily pushed but his program with Hunter didn't get over. I don't know anything about his TNA contract. -
Official WWE.com preview: So does CM Punk challenge Chavo to a rematch at NWO tonight? I think so.
-
I'm going to have to agree. I hope this trend continues.

Did you happen to notice anything specific?

JPopStarKami replied to Prophet of Mike Zagurski's topic in The WWE Folder
The curse of the current ECW title continues. No curse, it's just our annual "CM PUNK IS BEING BERRIED~!" story. Remember when this happened last year, then he got into the Money in the Bank match? Oh, oh yeah, remember when they said Morrison would pretty much take the ECW belt right off him when he returned? Yeah, that didn't happen either. By now I've learned to pretty much ignore this stuff, especially since it seems they're continuing the Chavo/Punk angle, so I see no burying here. -
Why the hate?
-
Damn that was a nice transition into the GTS.
-
Would it have been really so bad if Shelton pinned Kane clean? The countout loss makes Shelton look like a coward especially after all those promos about him being the new standard. And now we get Divas. *yawn*

For once I'll try not to read them. >.>

No, that was just a rumor. Nobody ever said it officially, least of all WWE. -
I just posted basically the same scenario in the Raw thread - the Matt and Jeff ending anyways. However I had Matt beating MVP for the US title and Jeff winning MITB. I also had Edge vs Flair in a Title vs Career match at WM where Edge would win and retire Flair. Of course you don't want to send the fans home unhappy so Jeff Hardy cashes in his MITB match and beats Edge for the title. Hah, yea I saw that right after I posted. Jeff Hardy vs Edge would probably be a better match, but the win would be more significant if he won the WWE title from whoever has it at the end of the night. I'm all for Jeff Hardy winning MitB and cashing it in to close the show and send the fans home happy. Only problem is, you didn't advertise Jeff vs. Edge, so you may sacrifice some buys...on the other hand, this isn't just some wildcard PPV, this is WM, everyone buys it. Still, I'm not sure Jeff vs. Edge with no build is entirely the best idea. What works better: a total surprise or a pre-built match?
-
I was either thinking that, or he comes close but loses again but only gets stronger from the loss, and gives it one more try with Money in the Bank. Of course that means his title win won't be at WM (unless he cashes in the same night) but this seems like it could be another possible scenario.
-
Yeah, remember when HBK kept SCMing Orton every week? He did it at the end of their Survivor Series match, too.
-
So where does Hardy go from here? What's the best move that'll help him keep his heat? I'd have him cut a promo that basically says he hasn't given up and he'll find a way to get at the belt. Hey, you know what? I just had a great idea. How about Cena/Orton/Hardy at WM?
-
Yeah I know but...damn...what do they do with Hardy now? They were doin' awesome with him.
