Quoted for truth. I didn't see the show, but Meltzer seemed to imply that this match wasn't very good. He also said the crowd wasn't into it. Depends on who you ask. Some people here said the crowd was into it, others say they were bored. I do know for sure they were into the finish, at least.

Perhaps they don't WANT to break the news? A lot of people tune into ECW for RVD IMO. They'd rather have RVD phased out quietly than announce his departure outright.

I agree. After Burke jobs to Punk (it's the only thing that makes sense, unless the bookers are on crack) move CM Punk to Smackdown. He needs a title soon. Benoit would make a great face on there and would make ECW a little less stale. But they probably won't move him. Actually, if they move Punk to Smackdown, they'll probably have a Benoit/Punk program...

HHH? Or HBK? Or seriously, they can do an angle with Cena feeling down after he finally lost the championship, and wondering if he can get it back. Do something with Cena training to beat Khali in his rematch against him, and just barely go over at the next PPV. Keep Khali out of the ring except for maybe a squash match (you know WWE has to do it) on RAW occasionally, and have him drop at the next consecutive PPV. Hey, One Night Stand 3 is tri-branded now, so it's not like you'll have to deal with Khali being champ for long. But if Khali goes over, this is the only way I can see this working out.

I doubt the marks are going to think 'ECW SUX!!!11' because Vince won the belt. Most of the viewership of today really doesn't care about prestige or anything like that. Sad, but true. I've been waiting to see Lashley lose the title, even if it had to go on Vince. Personally, I think they should have Vince vacate the belt and let them do a tournament. The Originals can fight the New Breed for it, thus freshening up the fued.

I am hoping that the Office does not think that a Snitsky - Lashley feud has long term potential. Snitsky just does not have the tools to pull it off. I think Snitsky will be fed to Lashley after a 3 or 4 week feud leading up to a PPV. Monty on the other hand could sustain a feud with Lashley for a few months and is obviously being protected for something, just look at his weak sauce DQ loss from last night. Has he lost cleanly on television yet? Snitsky could work...IF they gave him a good manager to act as a 'mouthpiece'. I can't see a good feud being built between them without it. But most likely they'll just have Vince dump Umaga for Snitsky or something and have Lashley 'overcome the odds' again.
