    CZW Retribtuion

Fucking sucks about Jimmy. Jacobs/Shelley/Bayless or Sabian? Wish CZW could have made the right decision Both guys have been in a slew of great matches for CZW and would have been a huge asset for BoTB4

    CZW Retribtuion

Card looks solid (and apparently the matches were v. good). Not as blowaway looking as last months but some interesting stuff. Glad to see the minimalising of students matches. I'm liking the depth of tech stuff on the roster especially, it's gone from 1 match to 3 or 4. Allthough Hero is still jobbing Main event sounds like an absolutely nuts brawl with wrestling http://img4.photobucket.com/albums/0703/ra...streetfight.jpg. Shows were probably most hurt by not being able to pull off their intended main event match and storyline stuff (B-Boy/Zandig vs. Messiah/Hart). Still look enjoyable but missing something intangible that last months shows had.

    CZW 4/3

I'm torn again - just like with the last spot show CZW manage to pull out something that on paper looks fantastic and then due to some reason just come out with a really disapointing card. But then as always after the disapointment sits in, start to look at people's reports and apparently stuff on this card was real good, especially the main event which went about 35 minutes (and debuted what was sposed to be a real good new character for Chris Hero)

    CZW 4/3

The Friday (typically spot show) card looks better than the Saturday card. S' a little odd. Apparently theres a big angle set for the Sat show (perhaps), could be an interesting couple of events. CZW have had a great month with the dual shows at the begining of the month and the throwback show (i.e old school UV brawl) in Italy. Then again they have a tendancy to really fuck up after doing well (even with excellent on paper cards)

    AAA vs Japan Cancelled

Even so, why on earth would they give Brookside the name of a completely different british wrestler. And then talk about this other wrestler in the profile instead of Brookside

    AAA vs Japan Cancelled

I'd imagine they'll have either Doug Williams or Nigel McGuinness. Seeing as in the X Division they'll be reduced to hitting lots of matwork spots - and thats what both guys do, then it wouldn't make sense to have both of them. Tighe could work - but again, he's not a spot worker and his spots are less impressive than London. Birchill is quite likely - except I'm not entirely sure if he's open to US bookings yet given that he hasn't had any at all so far. Seeing as they said Europe i'd imagine they'd have at least one non-brit. Theres a german flyer called X-Dream who would work really well but given his complete lack of exposure the name probably hasn't crossed their minds.
  7. In Tarantino's original script he died and it turned out that Alabama didn't actually love him and just used him to get away from Oldman's character. The director changed the ending because he 'thought the audience would fall in love with the couple'. Tarantino agreed that the ending worked better - but said that if he made the film he would have done it differently and thus his ending would have worked.

Problem Solver : Roll some pipe tobacco up in a liquorish paper Then you get that 'super harsh' cigarette taste coupled with a gothy looking back cigarrete.

2 Tuff Tony interview on 411

2Tuff's work with Nate Webb was darn good - theres a tables match between Pondo/Webb and 2Tuff/Mean Mitch Page (I think) which made me a fan of both him and Webb. Why doesn't he work for IWAMS more - he's there v. sporadically? (EDIT: Just noticed the bit in the interview about 3 month tours for Japan) Him in CZW would be great fun as he'd do well in the Philly regulated DM setting. I'd mark so much for the Corkscrew Plancha off the announcer's stage or off the entrance way.

    Smoking Lounge

I've only tried Djarums but they were a pretty good / easy smoke. Depends what your looking for really, Cloves seem to be very marmite-esque in that people either really like them or can't stand them. When I wanted a proper smoke though Djarums were unsatisfying - found myself smoking a normal cigarette afterwards. Don't know if thats a similar trait across all cloves or just that brand. EDIT: Everything2 tells me that Djarum Specials are the sweeter of the brands - so if thats what you're looking for it sounds like a good tip.

Hint of Guiness could be fun Or they could just colour the paper green.

    Smoking Lounge

Glad to see this thread hasn't died. Bought a pack of (English) American Spirits the other day after enjoying them while I was in the US last year. Severely disapointing, the Brit ones contained half the tar and nicotine and tasted like smoking air. Especially after their rich, satisfying to smoke American counterparts. Never managed to find any Camel Exotics whilst there (and this annoyance was further compounded by adverts for a limited edition 'New Year Spirit' flavour). Wish I'd managed to grab a pack of these too as I love to try the different flavours.

    CZW Overdrive Results

CZW always seem to bounce right back after a lackluster show (last febs). Show just looks great, lots of matches I want to see and less of the filler which normally plagues these shows. Hart/Zandig angle looks interesting to say the least.

    CZW Results

Every other post in that DVDR thread is positive though, including guys whos opinions I'll pay attention to (e.g Naylor) Joker/Dahmer sounds interesting, at first I completely ignored it in the match listings but apparently it was a total stiff fest and a real good performance from both guys. Even fans who don't like the headroppy style still make it sound like a match I want to see (being a fan of the headdroppy style).

    CZW Results

Was initially disapointed on seeing the results but looking over the responces of people who went to the show it sounded like a darn good show. No-one seemed to be complaining about the bait and switch (and if you know the CZW fans lot, someone has to complain about something) and the focus was on several suprisingly good matches and the awesome angle. Ah'll pick this one up most likely.

    Holy f*ck

Darn it, gramatical errors when your attempting to berate some suck. I meant announced the information as results. As I said my inital comment was lighthearted(ish), rather than announce 'results from latest PR show' it's 'oh my gawd - ex XPWer is back!!!!!!'. Now if only that's what I said

    Holy f*ck

OK Barber, heres my responce, nicely broken into single lines so you can quote each one of them with your 'so smart' replies. Theres thousands of Indy guys in the world at the moment, doesn't mean we need updating on every single one of their progresses. In fact, if Damian Steel wasn't an XPW guy *you yourself* couldn't care less. You could have given the results seeing as it was an indy show featuring other wrestlers people may actually be interested in. But no, better cling on to any XPW related information. Perhaps it may give the impression that the company mattered, or something. Anyways, it was only a lighthearted jab seeing as you'd overexagurated the importance of this announcement. HOLY F*CK. And, I really shouldn't lower myself to arguing with you because I just end up getting frustrated by your utter inability to see someone else's view / point. (I'm sure you'll assume this comment means I've conceeded defeat to the almighty Barber and thus put a smiley and add something witty to your signature)

    Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital

I suppose the Danish/Swedish amniosity which plays well in the original would be somewhat lost. Even so it stands up well without knowing the cultural significance of some points. I agree, why not show it in original form but the TV companies seem to be under the impression that your 'average american' won't enjoy it

    OH MY GAWD~~! No-one cares.

    Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital

Interested to hear about this? Was it anywhere near as good as the original? How much did they change it (allthough I suppose like many remakes it would start similar and vear off as the program progresses). Still don't like the idea of making it considering the original is one of the best TV things I've ever seen. But I suppose "Americans don't like subtitles and foreigners"

The 10 Ten Canceled TV Shows

Yup, leaving Coop possessed and so on. All though I may have missed the point? Terms aren't quite the same over here as they are there, would Cancelled mean if the show was cancelled between series (i.e more episodes not wanted) or cancelled mid series (ala Clerks) Even more of a shame was we lost out on the prospect of a Lars Von Trier directed episode (as was the idea for Season 3). But yeah, Clerks gets a nod too

    INTERVIEW: GQ Money/"Devilish" Lee Handsome

I spose bashing respected posters from other boards is easier than bashing ones from this board because you're less likely to get called on it. The interview wasn't actually that bad, if you just got over some of your 'problems' you wouldn't be a half bad collumist

Kevin Smith and The Green Hornet

Current plan is to do a series of straight to video/dvd ones on the side from film projects (by the sounds of it)
  25. Austin Powers quoting often is coupled with really really annoying voices. Kevin Smith quoting is not. Therefor AP gets the vote
