I suppose that's possible, but they never mentioned that one at all during the course of my season. The title change was imply not recognized.

It was the Raw blowoff in July. The cage match was never televised. I didn't see what the big deal was, myself. It was obvious Marty had no chance of winning. Here's how the match played out. Marty got the win but Shawn's foot was on the ropes ... Diesel and Heenan show the referee what happened on the video moniter ... match continues ... Marty misses a dive to the floor, knocks himself out, Diesel rolls him back in, Shawn gets the easy pin. It may have been a better match than simply what I just described, but it's been 10 years since I've seen it. No way was that one better than Bret-Hennig at KOTR.

I always thought it was just Vince's way of trying to piss off every black person who actually watched his product.

i just got highly pissed off. Spoiler (Highlight to Read): After the Elimination Chamber, JR asked me (playing Benoit) to remain in the title hunt. So at SmackDown, Vince mcMahon puts me in a top contenders tournament. So I beat Eddy Guerrero in the first match, The Big Show in the second match, then beat Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar (who horned himself into the final) all on one show to earn the shot. The next show, I not only successfully defend the US Title against Edge, but also win the title match vis submission. So your WWE Champion is Chris Benoit, right? Wrong. Postmatch, Taker lays me out with the title belt and drops it beside me. Next week, Taker says he has a gift for me. No problem. I beat Eddy Guerrero (and only wear the US Title to the ring), then open the gift, which is predictably The Undertaker to do a number on me. Next week, Taker stares me down, and Steph says Taker's behavior "is not becoming of a champion", so the title match at Armageddon is Hell in a Cell. Time for the match...and Taker is listed as the defending champion. Then I lose the US Title to Eddy in a four way TLC, then go on to lose the HIAC to Taker in about seven minutes...despite taking about six moves the entire match. So not only do I lose two title matches in one night, but I also got hosed out of a title reign when I won a title match by submission. And before anyone tells me "Are you sure it was a title match?", yes, because it clearly said "WWE Championship" on top of the match listing...until I checked the histories after the fact. So yeah, I guess it is like real life, huh?

Had an interesting Survivor Series. As Benoit, I finally got that first shot at the WWE Title. The Undertaker defending against Eddy Guerrero, Edge, Rey Mysterio... ...and Val Venis? Must be because I didn't put George Steele into this season or something.

Try making sure it's on easy for a while until you get the hang of it. But even on easy, I had one like that against Rhyno (as Benoit). Then I beat Vince McMahon in a cage in about three minutes the next PPV. It's a weird game like that.

My only gripe is that I can't give Chris Benoit a shot at the WWE Title because "You're heavily involved in a major storyline right now". The sad thing was I'd just blown off a tag team title feud, so I figured I was good to go.

This is the same team that fired Jimy Williams in the middle of a pennant race and were surprised when they immediately went to shit after that. The bottom line for you Red Sox fans is you went from being a mediocre team to being one hit away from the World Series in two years with Grady Little at the helm. Need I remind you that the Indians did the same thing to Mike Hargrove after 1999, and look where they were at two years later. Never take anything for granted, Sox fans.

Quick thoughts: Hal Sparks. Funny. Michael Ian Black: Not funny. Triumph the Insult Comic Dog: Funny. The guy from the Daily Show: Not funny.

Honestly? I think Cleveland will take them. And I'm not saying that because I'm a die hard Browns fan. But the Browns have this habit of winning the games they're not supposed to, and nobody's going to expect Cleveland to stay in that game. If Cleveland can stop Priest Holmes (and their rush D has been awesome for six of the eight games but really bad the other two), that could be a long game for the Chiefs. The bye week could also kill Kansas City's momentum (and they have a ton of momentum right now). But even if I'm wrong there, I don't see any team finishing 16-0 in the current NFL. Cincy or Detroit will likely take one if Cleveland doesn't, and Denver will probably get the win next time. 13-3, maybe 14-2. Home field advantage for sure.

Sadly, that's probably the exact reason Vince is waiting.

We had a dress code where you weren't allowed to wear belts because they could be used as weapons. Of course, being that I'm one of the skinnest men alive, it was "Um...if I don't wear a belt, then either my pants are too short or they're going to fall down..." I also found it hypocritical that you technically weren't allowed to wear rings (again, a potential weapon), but Josten's is selling class rings on school property.
