Edge was pitcher, Christian was catcher, and they pretended to look backwards like the ball went out of the park. Another one that was true at the time but still pissed us off.

Brian Pillman is "suspended" from WCW and comes back as the Yellow Dog. WCW officials say if they can prove it's Pillman, he's suspended for life. Pillman unmasks ON CAMERA and is reinstated about a month later.

From City To City, Looking at WWE Fans
JHawk replied to The Czech Republic's topic in The WWE Folder
Cleveland: There have been a handful of exceptions, particularly the night of the WCW purchase/Nitro simulcast, but it's usually a hot crowd as long as you give them even decent wrestling matches. I remember one live Thunder they did where they had one match over four minutes (and that only going about 4:15), and they got booed out of the building for it. At the same time, there's a reason the Cleveland areas had 6 PPVs...they tried to get into The Godfather vs. Mideon at No Mercy 99 for chrissakes. -
SmackDown from JHawk's Beak (8/28/2003) Somehow I expect to be flamed for liking the main event somewhat. ::ducks tomatoes::

He was in that movie? Yeah, he was the student radio announcer. Some funny lines, including a riff on the Copier Guy. I'm just glad somebody caught the reference.
-
Yeah, but they had to set up the cage, and having to take it down again would kill the crowd
-
Because I didn't see it until I saw the tape again this morning.

About damn time!

As far as I know, never. They've been releasing them as "best ofs" of like three or four episodes in one DVD. And I refuse to buy them unless they start releasing them in full seasons

I'm trying to figure out how a 20 minute match is "too short", but other than that, I'd go between ****1/2 and ***** for that one.

SmackDown from JHawk's Beak (8/21/2003) Tell me you know the drill by now.

I could never pick one absolute favorite, there are too many great ones. But I'm a comedy person generally (no reason watching all that depressing shit), so generally the Monty Python movies and most Mel Brooks movies end up at the top of my list.

AJ Styles and Red stripped of ROH Tag Team Titles
JHawk replied to tpww7's topic in General Wrestling
One question: Why the fuck didn't they just put the titles on Christopher Daniels and Danny Maff in Dayton then? And, you know, protect the lineage of the titles and all that? It's not like they didn't already know that Red was hurt. -
It's the site. They had something up today about them being at a new server and I still can't download the damn things

He said it was in his sig, bps... As often as he posts, it should be easy to find. <---is too lazy to check his bookmarks -
Already a thread on it, UYI. It couldn't have been that far down the page already, could it? Not knocking you man, just letting you know.

Wouldn't it be an oxymoron to have Baseball Tonight on during the afternoon anyway? And if ESPN2 could show a Magic: The Gathering tournament a few years ago, I'll gladly watch the LLWS instead.

Um...if the F word was noticeable in that theme song I think Spike TV would have had it edited out about a year ago...

New Percy Pringle commentary
JHawk replied to Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye's topic in General Wrestling
Even if he wants to stay in the business, how do you defend that angle? "Forcing yourself on the boss' wife is funny, bah gawd!" That's not even a good idea for Passions, and they're supposed to do stupid storylines like that. -
I actually got two of them from Mike Tenay's e-mail address.

Why is it that you can apply for a job online, but if you get the job you can't work from your home computer?

Probably Shawn since Angle's never thrown a hissyfit during a match that I can recall. But I refuse to formally vote because I love most of their matches.

Your First Live Event
JHawk replied to A Guy Who Injects Heroin Into Kids' Eyes's topic in The WWE Folder
March 18, 1986. House show in Warren, OH. I remember King Tonga wrestling twice and Mr. Fuji standing backstage during the intermission and not much else, but I think I have the old program lying around here somewhere. And yes, it was worth it. Live wrestling for a 7 year old? During the mid-80s boom? Hell yeah!
