Probably, since they only had one other match against each other and nobody's sure if that one exists (it was from the Capital Center in Landover, MD).
-
Would you say that if they wanted to tear down Yankee Stadium?

No love for Fuji Vice?

I certainly agree that every conference should be represented. As far as whether I like seeing this many "no-name" schools' games listed, I'll let you know after the results are in.

That was actually done a dry run for WrestleMania 2 before they decided to put Bret in the battle royal instead. Excellent match, too, and worth finding a tape of that show.

State at Clemson Purdue at Northwestern Missouri at Nebraska Western Michigan at Central Michigan Connecticut at Syracuse Kansas at Iowa State Kentucky at Mississippi State New Mexico at Colorado State Army at East Carolina TCU at Cincinnati Utah State at Middle Tennessee State Air Force at Wyoming Rice at Tulsa Florida vs. Georgia Ohio at Kent State -- against my better judgment, but I can't pick against my alma mater unless they're playing a Big Ten school or something. I miss the Indian deathlock myself. I think I'm in the minority there though
-
Yes it was. In fact, Luger hadn't wrestled at all since the 1/4/92 Tokyo Dome show.
-
Hey now! We got to see Chavo Guerrero Jr. finally get a shot in on Eddy Guerrero to start their feud, as well as the brilliant commercial break mic work of Billy Kidman! That show's my pick too, actually. I never went to another WCW show after that.

I don't remember one in 1998. I do, however, remember the "Cruiserweight Title Tournament" that started in 1996 to crown the first champion...even though it didn't start until after Shinjiro Otani had already won the title in Japan. It was supposedly double elimination with only Dean Malenko actually jobbing twice before they finally gave up and acknowledged Otani's title victory.

Since nobody's actually commented on the interview itself, I'm just going to close this thread and keep the flame war from getting out of hand. Count me in as one of those who wants to read the book, however.

Which promotion? I'm dying to find something to go to every once in a while, and I live near Dayton. Fortitude Championship Wrestling. They're actually based in the Akron area, so you'd still be looking at a three hour drive to catch a show. They've actually got some pretty good (albeit green) wrestlers there, though there are a handful of gimmicks that I'd pan if I was reviewing them on Monday or Thursday nights.

Bret won most of them, but Luger did get at least one win somewhere.
-
I also mixed up He-Man and Thundercats figures with my old LJN WWF figures as part of the Universal Wrestling Organization. Nothing like booking a special attraction midget match between Orko and Snarf. I had to retire Lion-O in the middle of a Universal title push when Two-Bad broke his leg. Seriously, I literally snapped Lion-O's leg clean off doing a dreaded flying double headbutt off the top rope.

I'm going to close this one, guys. I already deleted one of these because we've done it before. No fault to Loaded Glove since he may not have seen the original, but we don't need to keep going over it. If this gets started again, I'll simply delete it on sight.

Actually, some of the smaller ones do the commentary over the PA. I never understood the concept myself. If the match is good you don't notice it. Although if the commentary's good it can at least give you something of entertainment value during a bad match. To answer the question, I've done some refereeing recently for a small indy in Ohio, and if it turned into a career, cool, but I'm not expecting a WWE career anytime soon.

I've got that show on tape, and it's actually pretty decent. Nothing MOTY quality or anything, but certainly passable. I doubt it'd still be in business had it stuck around, but who thought TNA would still be around at this point?
-
You wouldn't ban the one guy who still writes regularly for the site and was here at the beginning, right? ... Right? ... Oh crap.
-
The Rock's BLACK? Seriously, the average fan probably doesn't even realize that.
-
In 1992 I did Ric Flair. But not in-ring Ric Flair. I was TBS Studio Ric Flair complete with jacket and tie. WHOO! I also did Sting in 1990 as a 12 year old mark. I wore a Rock mask to class one Halloween but I didn't go all out with it.
-
groan I didn't name it. As a matter of fact, he and I were so wrapped into our imaginary Sanders/O'Haire feud that we made a bet to each other to see who would make it on TV first after WCW died... I counted Sanders appearance on TNA as a win. HEY~! Dames So this was after O'Haire and Palumbo lost the WCW Tag Team Titles on WWF TV?
-
I'd agree if the Horsemen would have actually been allowed to do the save, since that was the only ending to that segment that made sense.

A pickup line gone wrong: "Hey baby. You. Me. Bed. Now."
