1988, no doubt in my mind. I'd put it over 1995 only because 1988's matches all pretty much meant something long-term, while WCW barely even mentioned Starrcade 1995 except for Flair's title win.

Wasn't that a double pin or something? Haven't seen the show in years. IIRC, Sting was originally awarded the pin with a bridging back suplex, but the replay revealed that Muta's shoulder was up during the pinfall, which led to the TV title being held up for about three months.

It's also conceivable that they dubbed over commentary for the matches that aired on Prime Time, although that isn't likely since Dick Graham never did any commentary outside the Spectrum that I know of.

It wouldn't surprise me with the WWF since Gorilla Monsoon became on-air president in 1995 and had always talked about two referees for tag team matches when he was on commentary, but as far as I know the story's just fluff.
