I might like the Eddy-JBL match. Mostly because I'll be at BW3 and probably on my fourth or fifth beer at that point.

I'm sure there will be tickets available the night of the show. But you'll be behind me. Front row baby!

Dammt Laz,you're gonna make me read the Torch site to actually get a full review!

I've said it before, but since the question's been asked: The main reason I do straight play-by-play is simple. When I was trying to pay rent during school I couldn't afford things like food, much less cable, so I couldn't watch anything except SmackDown and whatever syndicated show I could get on my antenna that week. That meant I was relying on the internet to follow the cable shows, and even back then Scott Keith was a rather lazy writer, so I'd get the result but no sense of what actually happened. The only recapper I could find that did enough to give me a feel for the show was CRZ. I didn't need to read the interviews word for word, but the PBP of the matches was appreciated. So basically, I write for the people that didn't see the show. If you saw it and just want my opinion, that's what the commercial break paragraph is for. Theoretically, everybody should be happy. As far as using star ratings...well, I'd rather not use them since A) people always bitch about them, and B) It's not usually that hard to figure out if I like something or not, but without using them you always get e-mails asking "Why don't you rate matches?" and I got tired of answering them. Sometimes I'm lazy and forget to explain the rating, but I try to respond to it when called out on it.

No love for Badstreet USA?

WrestleMania IX: Savage: "Is Luna from Oklahoma?" JR: "Absolutely not." Heenan: "Of course not. She's pretty." WrestleMania III, just before Koko B. Ware vs. Butch Reed: Ventura: "Of course, you know the B stands for Buckwheat." Monsoon: "It does not." Ventura: "Oh yes it does. I understand he has a brother, too, named Stimey." Monsoon: "Will you stop?" Ventura: "Wears a derby."

Lord Alfred Hayes on The Conquistadors: "Well, the Conquistador in the ring is about 6'1", and his partner's about 6'4", so his partner's a little a little taller."

The Harris Brothers. They never made it to TV under the gimmick.

Who says wrestlin is just technical wrestlin? Wrestlin has all those styles under one name. Karate isnt wrestling. karate is martial arts. ive seen plenty of times where martial arts and wrestlin DONT mix. The attempt at mixed martial arts works good when they fight each other but MMA vs. pro usually ends up with conflicting styles. You do realize that Ricky Steamboat and Bad News Brown had a fair share of success incorporating martial arts into his moveset, right? Of course, Ernest Miller had exactly one singles match at a SmackDown taping, and it was edited out of the show because it sucked ass. But martial arts workers can get over in WWE.

Jesse trying to explain Dino Bravo's botched bench press at the 1988 Royal Rumble was classic! "I put two pounds of added pressure on the bar with my pinkies, but I did not grab the bar!"
-
Also not old school, but during the lingerie match at No Mercy 2001, Heyman said something about Torrie and Stacy wrestling with him or something along those lines. JR: "In your dreams." Heyman: "You know, that's a very accurate statement, JR."

If the title reign isn't official, does it still count (ie Marty Jannetty)?

And so my media posting days are over along with
JHawk replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in The WWE Folder
And if anything you'd actually posted was readily available for those of us who want to see it, I might give a shit about WWE's legal department caving in on it. Hey, if WWE 24/7 lives up to its potential, then no problem, but as of right now you're not losing money off something that isn't for sale. -
Those may have aired, actually, as Duggan was basically a TV jobber when he worked the Northeast at that time.

I'd say it is 80% BoSox fans. And you can blame the Indians for building those damn casinos, GoD I hate them. The Cleveland Indians built casinos?

And a month later Taylor has assumed the Wallstreet role and is doing the exact same gimmick, which made no sense to this 12 year old mark. I remember one time where Wallstreet won with four seconds left but only had 1:49 to work with, but other than that I don't remember him ever coming close to not making it before jumping to the WWF.

I'm not sure I'd call Lewin a no-name wrestler, as he drew a ton of money in his day (particularly in Buffalo and Detroit), but if I'd ever heard the song i probably would have marked out for it.

Aaah, the ever-so-subtle Gorilla. Wasn't this when the "graduate" just got kicked in the BUTT? I seem to remember similar references to Pat Patterson before he became a stooge too. This was around 1988 or so, so the wrestler in question was likely Steve Lombardi. I can't remember for the life of me if anything in particular happened in the match to bring out the line, or if it was just because it was a Steve Lombardi match.

Mine's just the short version of my real name, and was essentially my high school nickname, so there ya go.

Because the answer is always based on "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"?

I remember one episode of Prime Time Wrestling where the announce team was Gorilla Monsoon, Lord Alfred Hayes, and Vince McMahon. I can't remember the particular match in question, but I distinctly remember Monsoon making a mention of one of the wrestlers graduating from the "Terry Garvin School of Self-Defense", and Vince says "Terry Garvin?" like he's disgusted they're actually talking about him on the air.

Can't remember the name of the song or the full lyric, but Redman and Eminem did a song together where Redman mentions Tony Atlas.

The seeds had been planted by WrestleMania I (with them coming to the ring to "Born in the USA"), but the official name came sometime between WrestleMania and Windham/Rotundo regaining the titles in June. I don't know if anybody here can narrow it down further than that.
