WWE 24/7 Discussion Thread - August 2007
TheSSNintendo replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in WWE Multimedia
But I did like the ending of Goldberg giving the jackhammer to The Giant. I forgot that The Giant left the nWo in '96-'97, but came back to them in '98. -

I haven't seen Summerslam '89 since I borrowed it from a friend years ago. Does it have Mean Gene's blooper? -
What was your first Exposure to Wrestling
TheSSNintendo replied to edgehead69's topic in General Wrestling
Almost the same for me, but it was like this at the beginning: WCW Pro Wrestling/Power Hour - 9:05 (TBS) WWF Mania - 10:00 (USA) WWF Superstars - 12:00 (WBFF-45 FOX; don't know why it was that station, 'cause over the years FOX in our area was WTTG) WCW Saturday Night - 6:05 (TBS) WWF All-American Wrestling - either 11 or 12 WCW Main Event - 6:05 (TBS) WWF Wrestling Challenge - about 12 AM -
What was your first Exposure to Wrestling
TheSSNintendo replied to edgehead69's topic in General Wrestling
As best as I can remember, it was February of '93, and WWF Superstars was on FOX. My brother had watched wrestling sometime before I did, so he got me involved. And the first memory I can think of is Yokozuna giving Jim Duggan the four consecutive banzai drops. A few months later, I got into WCW sometime during the spring. I do somewhat remember Vader powerbombing Cactus Jack on the arena floor, the debut of the Shockmaster, Nasty Boys vs. Scorpio/Bagwell fued, Dustin Rhodes beating Rick Rude for the U.S. Title among other stuff. Been hooked since '93, and I don't plan on quitting. -
I did my own "What If" scenario over at WhatIfSports, with the Orioles vs. the Braves in the '97 World Series, had they met up.. Baltimore wins the series 4-1.

Great read. Got anymore stuff from the 90's?

Major restaurants and stores not in your area?
TheSSNintendo replied to Vern Gagne's topic in Food Folder
There's plenty of Sheetz stores, a Dairy Queen, McDonald's, Burger King, Taco Bell, etc.. What we don't have, that I would like, is a Potbelly's, Fuddrucker's, and Chipotle. -
Well, in the July WWE 24/7 thread, I asked about the Undertaker showing the old "13 Colonies" American flag video. And just by random luck, here it is. The Undertaker joins the All-Americans
-
I remember seeing that moment from Superstars. Was sorta surprised that Undertaker had version of the flag inside his coat. If anybody has a video of that, I'd like to see it again.
-
I don't remember Steve Young getting injured in that game. What I do remember is Garrison Hearst breaking his ankle in the 1st quarter.
-
I mainly shop at Kohl's for clothes. You can get at least two pairs of shorts for $40, compared to American Eagle where one pair will cost the same. I've tried Old Navy with no luck, but maybe I'm not looking hard enough. I just go with whatever I like and whatever looks good to me.

WWE General Discussion for July 2007
TheSSNintendo replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
I remember her from watching Superstars episodes in '93. -
Good game by Bedard. Him and Guthrie are the only two good starting pitchers right now for the O's, other than Brian Burress.
-
I'm in agreement with you there on that one. Kinda makes me wonder what if the ump didn't call strike 3 on Alomar in the '97 ALCS. Would the O's managed to tie the series up?
-
Lunar: Dragon Song? Yeah, I have that, but haven't played it much. Hey, I'm a Lunar mark.
-
Tejada may be on the DL, but the O's are doing pretty good right now against the D-Backs, leading 7-0. Daniel Cabrera is having a rarity at the moment, pitching a decent game. I'm going by the Yahoo scoreboard, 'cause my cable (Comcast) doesn't have MASN.
-
Maybe they can find a taker for Tejada too. Since his 34-homer, 150 RBI season in '04, his numbers have gone down, and he really hasn't done squat this year.
-
I bet it's tough being a Reds fan. Then again, it's tougher being an Orioles fan.
-
Well, now that someone spelled it out for me, it doesn't seem that bad.
-
I'd rather have the Bulls keep Ben Gordon and Luol Deng. Don't need Kobe's soap-opera B.S. stinking up Chicago.
-
Erik Bedard pitches a good shutout game through seven innings, and was put back in at the beginning of the 8th. Not a bad idea at first, but his pitch count was close to 110. He gives a homer, no biggie I was thinking. Then the bullpen blows it away, losing 7-3.
-
NBA: Get rid of the ping-pong balls to decide draft positioning. Worst team in the league should get the #1 pick. MLB: Eliminate fan voting for All-Star game. Just about every year we see Nomar in there, and he doesn't do squat during the season. Force Peter Angelos to sell the Orioles to someone who is dedicated to winning.
-
I feel your pain, as I am too an Orioles fan. Why is it bad things happen when Guthrie pitches? Typical Orioles crap. A few weeks ago they were 27-27, and were looking good. Now it's back to the same old stuff, and they're 2-10 this month. They'll be lucky to win a few more games this month.
-
I watched the video, but I didn't see anything where Sandman pushed somebody or whatever.

Am I the only one who remembers Dunkaroos?
