WWE @ Thompson-Boiling Arena Knoxville, TN The 20,000 + seat arena was only about 20% full Bubba Ray & Devon Dudley b Rene Dupree & Rob Conway in a tables match when Conway go put thru a table. Post match a young boy was brought into the ring and given a piece of the broken table and had his picture taken by Spike who was wearing a neck brace selling his injury from Monday. Mark Henry & Rodney Mack w/Teddy Long b Hurricane & Rosey when Henry pinned Hurricane. Lance Storm b Rico w/Jackie with a superkick. Once again Lance Kissed Ms Jackie Garrison Cade Mark Jindrak b Tommy Dreamer & Steven Richards w/Victoria. Dreamer was back to being a face as he and Steven argured the entire match. Finally Dreamer had enough and gave his partner a Dreamer Driver which allowed Cade to get the pin. Molly b Trish to keep the woman's title when she reversed a roll up and held the tights for the pin. Maven b Test w/ Stacy. Same stuff as with Steiner. Test brings a chair in and it backfires and Maven gets the pin. Stacy then tried to give Maven a lap dance but Test pulls her out of the ring. Christian b Chris Jericho & Val Venis to keep the I-C belt when the champ pinned Val with the unprettier. Jericho was still acting like a heel. Post match Val gave a young lady his towel. HHH b Ric Flair & Randy Orton to keep the World Title. HHH took the mike and said the crowd was not going to get there wish and see Evolution beat each other up. He then asked Orton to lay down for him. Randy said since he was a up and coming star that they should not do it. HHH then asked Flair and the Nature Boy said no way and turned the crowd in his favor. After some stalling the match finally started it it was basically a 2 on 1 with HHH and Orton beating on Flair. Ending was after a low blow by Randy on Flair it looked like the champ would pin Flair but he doubled crossed Orton by giving him the pedigree and got the pin. Everyone made up after the match was over. RVD b Kane in the cage match by climbing out. Both referees got knocked out during the match and missed RVD winning the match a first time. Kane put RVD back in the ring and tried to take him out with a chair but it backfired on him and RVD climbed out a second time which the refs saw to get the win. Notes: The Coach was the guest ring announcer for the show. Let's just say the Fink was really missed. Local wrestlers Tim Horner & Jeff Anderson were backstage. They were guests of Arn Anderson who is a long time friend of Horner. Randy Orton got to spend some time with his dad Cowboy Bob Orton who was in town to work a show for local promoter Terry Landel on Sunday in Knoxville at the TN Valley Fair.

Too bad there arent fancams anymore. I'd buy a copy of the show, for London's debut and the 45 min Angle- Lesnar match.

Here's a report of his debut last night. We are welcomed by the "other" Smackdown ring announcer, whose name I forget, and a local radio personality. Opening match: Rey Mysterio d. Tajiri Great match. Lots of high spots but looks strangely like a match I saw Thursday. I was really afraid that this was going to peak the show early but the show was strong enough to hold its own. Sean O'Haire & A-Train d. Spanky & Paul London Spanky was wearing some sort of mask coming out but then gave it to an audience member. I haven't liked Albert since he started and now after seeing him live I can honestly say that I've been right the whole time. Anyway, O'Haire, Spanky, and London really delivered. Good power moves from O'Haire. London really has it going on. You could tell that he was putting more of himself into the match than anyone else in the ring. Probably still excited to be in WWE. London and Spanky make a great tag team lots of highspots. I just hope they don't make them a punching bag like Zach Gowen. Guido, OOPS! Nunzio d. Funaki Good match, Funaki always delivers, as well as Nunzio. They really shine live. Billy Kidman & Noble w/ Nidia d. Basham Brothers w/ Shaniqua If it wasn't for Nidia being so darn entertaining I may have had to leave. Honestly let the Bashams be a real team and send Shaniqua back to Tough Enough. Eddie Guerrero d. Chris Benoit and John Cena Match of the night. Great Cena rap before the match. Rhyno runs in at the end to squash Benoit with the spear. Goes for the spear on Guerrero but gets sent out of the ring. Eddie uses the belt and picks up the win. Always a pleasure to see any of those four guys in the ring. Intermission = Shirts in a Gun Matt Hardy w/ Shannon Moore d. Orlando Jordan Not much crowd reaction here. Jordan is green and boring. Hardy cut a promo about his Mattitude and how it was born in the south but not Roanoke. NEXT!! Bikini Contest. Funaki officiated. Torrie Wilson won. Big surprise Kurt Angle d. Brock Lesnar 45 min. long match. Every imaginable highspot was performed. Practice for the Iron Man match I suppose. Angle did the missed moonsault spot, nice!! He gets Lesnar to tap like he promised to do before the match. Angle leaves the ring but Lesnar says he's not done and that it's an Iron Man match. The referee informs him that it is a one-fall match. Which ticks off Brock and he literally cries. (OOH what a MONSTER). Good match though. Notes: Zach Gowen wasn't there. ... Albert was confronted by a local radio announcer on the ring apron which acted as a distraction. ... Crowd was really hot, but really small. Note from Scherer: There were about 3,000 in the building and about 2,200 paid. ... The Smackdown brand show was so so so much better than the Raw brand show. The guys seemed to take the ring work very seriously. ... I was kinda disappointed about Vince not running in to start the bikini match. Oh Well. Dusty Wallace Roanoke, Va
