Guest SuperTonyJaymz Posted July 4, 2002 Report Posted July 4, 2002 The thing is, Mick never got rid of his mask. So Goldust can't, and shouldn't change his attire
Guest M Nyland Posted July 4, 2002 Report Posted July 4, 2002 one thing is for certain...after this....we will never forget the name of....sssssssssss...Goldust... -this has been: M Nyland Never forget the.....ssssssssssss....sheep...
Guest GenerationNever Posted July 4, 2002 Report Posted July 4, 2002 The thing is, Mick never got rid of his mask. So Goldust can't, and shouldn't change his attire Yes he did. He didn't use the mask after he came back as just Mick Foley.
Guest SuperTonyJaymz Posted July 4, 2002 Report Posted July 4, 2002 That was just for Wrestlemania 2000, his last match. He never took off his mask, as Mankind, for extended periods of time.
Guest Mr Monday Night Posted July 4, 2002 Report Posted July 4, 2002 I agree with you to an extent in that yea the Goldust gimmick is kinda old, but it seems like where in the past he never had a spot in the roster, he's just now starting to get a good grip on his gimmick and is working it really well. I think the moment they pull Booker T away from him, it will kill his gimmick.
Guest evenflowDDT Posted July 4, 2002 Report Posted July 4, 2002 The thing is, Mick never got rid of his mask. So Goldust can't, and shouldn't change his attire Yes he did. He didn't use the mask after he came back as just Mick Foley. Yea, but when Mick Foley came back as Mick Foley with the exception of the Wrestlemania 2000 match and maybe one other he was a commissioner, and then a joke of a commissioner character with "magic contracts". The problem with Dustin Runnels having another gimmick would be I don't see how it would work. Yes, this Goldust may be different than the old Goldust but it's still... sssss.... Goldust. Would you rather have Dustin be a wanna-be film director or something? That'd be the only way I could see him keeping the movie quotes and stuff now but not be Goldust. Then again, that could explain the return of GTV as well.....
Guest saturnmark4life Posted July 4, 2002 Report Posted July 4, 2002 His gimmick is different now, with the dressing up and stuff, but part of what makes it funny is the fact that it's EFFING GOLDUST under those costumes. They shouldn't change it now it's over, they'll regret it.
Guest Trivia247 Posted July 4, 2002 Report Posted July 4, 2002 This is the best Goldust Run Dustin has had, People are responding to it, that Freak aspect, kinda like when Mic's Mankind turn from Derange and Hidious into a Goofy just Odd gimmick. Goldust had a couple of return runs in the gimmick which fizzled this is actually working longer than others So its good for him why change it?
Guest claydude14 Posted July 4, 2002 Report Posted July 4, 2002 there's absoulutely no reason to change the gimmick. without the makeup and gold, could you see dustin touching himself and what not? i can't, and if he did, it would look awkward as hell. he NEEDS the goldust atire to have the goldust gimmick.
Guest jester Posted July 5, 2002 Report Posted July 5, 2002 And I doubt that it 's Runnell's "real" personality that's now coming through. Did Dustin Runnell run around a dress up like movie characters in real life before he starting doing Goldust? Or hit on black men? Somehow I don't think so. His character has changed, yes, but that doesn't mean necessarily that it's moved closer to his actual real life persona. It just means they've found an approach for Goldie that works. jester
Guest Creepy Crawl Posted July 5, 2002 Report Posted July 5, 2002 I have never been a big fan of Goldust . Here lately though the Book and Dust promos are what I look foward to seeing the most . I think that a gimmick change would hurt him more than anything right now .
Guest SuperTonyJaymz Posted July 5, 2002 Report Posted July 5, 2002 Its his real personality coming through. He isn;t just being a gimmick, he is just being a wierd guy with gold makeup on.
Guest Choken One Posted July 5, 2002 Report Posted July 5, 2002 Dustin needs to continue this current persona to keep himself worthwhile. Dustin as Dustin is just Dustin. The reason he is getting over right now is because the very Image of GOLDUST in Darth Varder costumes or whathave you. It's called character development and It's working for him. Nothing else will.
Guest greeneb22 Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 Goldust is not only over, but he's also has a great wrestling style and should never change his gimmick.
Guest GenerationNever Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 I could dig Dustin as a wanna-be director. Thing is, DUSTIN got the gimmick over, he did. Just like Mick got over the Mankind gimmick. But, realistically, the "Goldust" gimmick will be gone in at LEAST two years. You know Vince...Anyways, what exactly does the name "Goldust" mean? I know Dusty Rhodes was sometimes called "Stardust" and I know "dust" can be an abbrviation of "Dustin." Hm.
