cawthon777 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2002 I love Acrobat as well- it's a really powerful song that gets me going. The DVD Live from Boston version of "The Fly" is super awesome. I had the good fortune to be at the opening concert of the Elevation Tour in Miami. That was the night they debuted the new version of "The Fly." The extended intro had us all so confused and enchanted at the same time, and when the opening riff dropped in, the place went absolutely nuts. Standing 10 feet away from the stage while all that happened around me was probably one of the most transcendent moments I've experienced. They must tour again...mmm... Yes, I'm adding to a conversation that ended 3 months ago... Best U2 live performances (which I'm sure are all available via Kazaa): "With or Without You" - Tempe, AZ; Arizona State University; 1987 ... featured on 'Rattle and Hum'. 12 years later, my dorm was directly across the street from Sun Devil Stadium ... I was so close to going! "Bad" - London England; Wembley Stadium; Live Aid (1985) ... a good 12-minute opus to end their set (?) ... included bits from the Rolling Stones' 'Sympathy for the Devil' and Lou Reed's 'Walk on the Wild Side'. "Peace on Earth / Walk On" - Tribute to Heroes Telethon; 9/21/01 ... started a little slow but ended up being incredibly emotional ... hey, I cried a little ... backup singers = awesome "One" - Baltimore Arena; 10/19/01 ... I went to this show and actually found a copy of it on eBay back in December ... Bono starts out by talking about how back in the 70s and 80s, friends and famliy of the band that went to mainland Britain were beaten just because they had an Irish accent (as revenge for the terrorist bombings in the UK). Which leads him to saying that we shouldn't place blame on a set group for the actions of a few ... "The Koran is a beautiful book and the people that follow Islam are beautiful people and they have nothing to do with these religious lunatics. My favorite line from the Koran - 'He is close to god who makes his friends laugh'." A perfect lead in to 'One' - as a list of the passengers and crew onboard the 3 downed planes on 9/11 are shown in the background. I'm aware I'm supposed to pick 5 songs ... I guess I'm just a born rebel.

Guest notJames Report post Posted December 11, 2002 2) "Unity" - Either the Reel Big Fish cover of the Operation Ivy [original] Blasphemy!!! No cover could ever do justice to OpIvy. Not even Green Day's excellent country-fired rendition "Knowledge" OpIvy or nothing. Not even Rancid. Tim and Lars should have quit while they were ahead.
