Guest Shaved Bear Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 his interview, i still find them entertaining, but he has to aim them at new people
Guest eiker_ir Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 i like the rock, he's not the best worker or anything but he still has entertaining matches........
Guest The Ruthless Aggressor Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 What is THAT supposed to mean?
Guest Incandenza Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 The Rock can definitely, um, bring it in the ring. Look at the Vengeance PPV. Everyone put up one hell of a fight--even the Undertaker--and it wasn't because Angle was carrying them.
Guest The Ruthless Aggressor Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 That match was overrated. It was just finisher, after finisher, after finisher. And I mean we've been seeing guys do each others finishers for years now, so it's nothing special.
Guest LooseCannon Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 Congrats Incan Thanks. I'm weighing whether I should use my real name for my columns. I have nothing to hide, but I enjoy keeping a certain mystique about me. Use Incandenza. I like knowing who wrote the columns, and plus it kind of ruins it for me the more I find out about the real life people behind their online personas.
Guest LooseCannon Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 I used to abhor the Rock. But since he came back a few weeks ago, I've been finding him entertaining.
Guest The Ruthless Aggressor Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 How's he been entertaining? Did you see that shitty 20 minute promo with Busta rhymes? That was HORRIBLE, but Angle once again saved the day with his "Puff Daddy" comment.
Guest Incandenza Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 How's he been entertaining? Did you see that shitty 20 minute promo with Busta rhymes? That was HORRIBLE, but Angle once again saved the day with his "Puff Daddy" comment. You're right. I like Rocky, but I don't think he's a god or anything.
Guest The Ruthless Aggressor Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 I used to like Rock, but his act got really old, really fast. He's not even as popular as people claim. People we're basically turning on him two Wrestlemania's in a row, until he took time off for his movie career.
Guest LooseCannon Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 I loved heel Rock. He turned face, and I got bored with him pretty quickly. I absolutley hated him ever since Mick played his obsequious sycophant. But then like I said, recently I've started to enjoy some of his stuff.
Guest Shaved Bear Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 but Rocky has been put in sticky situations for both WMs
Guest The Ruthless Aggressor Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 I admit that, but it just proves that he is nowhere near the top babyface.
Guest Incandenza Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 People we're basically turning on him two Wrestlemania's in a row They turned on him at X-7 in Austin's home state, so ANY one would get booed. As for X-8, Canada is nothing but a bunch of weird Hogan-loving freaks. Besides, when Rock won, the crowd popped huge. Â If you want a truly special example of anti-Rock sentiment, look no further than the great match he had with Jericho at No Mercy last year.
Guest The Ruthless Aggressor Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 See, The Rock was even less popular than a babyface Jericho, despite the fact that Jericho was one of the worst faces ever.
Guest LooseCannon Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 Austin was getting more cheers and wwf was confiscating anti-Rock signs during the entire feud leading up to the match at wrestlemania. Can't say I'm surprised. The only thing the Rock ever said during the whole feud was "blah blah blah... just bring it" which was lame as hell.
Guest The Ruthless Aggressor Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 If there's anything I hate, It's the WWE confiscating signs, and pumping in fake crowd heat. I mean they were basically priding themselves on giving the customers what they want a few years back. And they were saying the WWE was all about freedom of expression. Such bullshit.
Guest Shaved Bear Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 Jericho was very over as a face, until his character had grown stale
Guest Incandenza Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 See, The Rock was even less popular than a babyface Jericho, despite the fact that Jericho was one of the worst faces ever. Â I'm tired of arguing about this, but this means little. Rock was still way over as a face; it's denial to state otherwise. Plus, calling Jericho "one of the worst faces ever" is merely an opinion, and actually brings little to the discussion at hand. Jericho was quite over as a face in his feud with the Rock--until the heel turn, that is.
Guest Shaved Bear Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 why are we talking about wrestling here?
Guest The Ruthless Aggressor Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 I have no idea. But Jericho was horrible as a babyface. I still have nightmares about his feud with Stephanie. Them throwing insults at each other embarrased me as a fan.
Guest Incandenza Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 why are we talking about wrestling here? I dunno. These things happen in the WACKIEST THREAD ON THE BOARD~!
