Guest The Amazing Rando Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I can't rant on why GnR sucks.... because they put out good albums, and although they might not be as trandescendant as Metallica's early thrash metal has been, you have to understand that GnR is not as old as Metallica.......and yet they both have loyal fan bases and they also have haters Some people hate Metallica because they feel they sold out....some people hate GnR because Axl Rose is an egotistical prick. If you believe they suck, then believe that...but their are millions of people that like GnR and Metallica...and there will always be people like that.... It's all a matter of taste and musical influence....I am influenced by "Welcome Home(Sanitarium)" because it was one of the first Metallica songs that meant something to me...and I am influenced by "Welcome To The Jungle" because to me it sounded like the end all, be all of hair metal....what every single pretty-boy hair metal band wanted to be was personified in that song... Saying GnR sucks compared to Metallica is just saying that a hair metal band sucks compared to a thrash/speed metal band... the genres...although similiar...are very different....and deserve the respect they get...
