Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 I happen to think that Austin will be back eventually too.
Guest alfdogg Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 If i was Austin i would go just to spit Vince But... I thought you swallowed?
Guest Kid Kablam Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 Vince sure is an insecure little man. And Austin isn't?
Guest chirs3 Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 If Austin comes back, I... well... I'm not gonna say "I'll never watch the WWE again!", because that will be a lie. But I sure as hell won't be too happy about it. Austin may be a way to get the viewers back, but he's not the only way. If he does come back, then they could spin it into a bigtime angle. But remember the inVasion? The angle that was so good it couldn't possibly be fucked up? Yea, THAT inVasion. If the WWE couldn't handle an impossible-to-mess-up angle, they'll have a doozy of a time with one that requires as much care as this one would.
Guest Austin3164life Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 Which is why this situation doesn't have "work" anywhere near it. That's giving the creative team an awful lot of credit, and giving credit where credit is indefinitely NOT due. Especially during this complete drought of great product. I truly believe that we have seen the last of Steve Austin. Of course, I'm still disgruntled over that fact, but the time for the elevation of men such as Booker T and Kurt Angle is upon us, and should happen. It saddens me that Vince consorts to merely "cashing in on Austin's departure". Shrewd business man or not, Vince isn't a very good human being. That is all. I reached my 1000th post. Maybe I've garnered some respect here. Or is the post-count glass ceiling now at 3000 posts?
Guest Just call me Dan Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 Congratulations, my God that count flew. you and I were on the same pace for months. Now I'm only nearing a lowly 600! This is not a work, the creative team won't be able to handle this properly because they can't handle much of anything properly. I'd almost bet the farm Austin will grace my screen a few more times, but how could this angle possibly be anymore than another (MY GOD NO) Vince / Austin feud? Do you really want that? If he comes back, just let him come back pissed as a heel who hates the fans. Shoot comments that aren't supposed to be shoot comments will fly, his in-ring work will probably be great (2001) and you can go from there.
Guest alfdogg Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 I reached my 1000th post. Maybe I've garnered some respect here. Heyyyyy...I've always respected you, man!
Guest Vitamin X Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 And noone respects me and my lowly 300-something posts..Look..I DON'T EVEN HAVE A CUSTOM TITLE!!!
Guest Ripper Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 Once again. Vince DID make Austin a very very very rich man. Vince DID give him a chance to be one of the biggest draws ever. Vince DID give the man basically everything that he wanted. Vince has every right on gods green earth to let the marks know what a asshole Austin was about the entire situation. Bury him all you want Vince.
Guest jester Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 Remember how Vince tried to bury Hogan with the Billlionaire Ted sketches? Well, he's back now. I'm sure they'd take Austin back under the right circumstances. It just won't happen for awhile. Hell, they brought the "poison" NWO back, why not Austin? jester
Guest MrRant Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 And noone respects me and my lowly 300-something posts..Look..I DON'T EVEN HAVE A CUSTOM TITLE!!! That's because you need at least 500 for anyone to take you somewhat seriously.
Guest graph9 Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 Vince acts like a scorned bytch everytime a wrestler leaves his company on bad terms..Hogan..Bret..and now Stone Cold..of course they will be welcomed back with open arms..if they can make Vinces pockets fatter with more money..

Guest BobbyWhioux Posted July 13, 2002 Report Posted July 13, 2002 I just find it interesting sometimes, the grudges Vince McMahon chooses to keep at the expense of good money-making business (the WCW invasion thingy) and the grudges that Vince will abandon for the sake of good business. If Vince thinks he can make money off of an Austin come back, and Austin wants to come back, then something will probably happen. But will Austin ever want to, or need to, come back? Austin made a lot of money for himself (though even more for Vince) and if he's invested and/or saved it wisely, he shouldn't ever HAVE to come back. Like someone said earlier, Vince can't starve him out. Austin has more financial power than most of Vince's wrestlers, and part of me wonders if this continued burial of Austin isn't maybe Vince's way of trying to mark his territory and/or prove that he owns Austin too just like everyone else on his roster. I mean, Austin basically said "take this job and shove it." Vince doesn't seem to be the sort who likes it when people are able to say that to him. Austin probably could have and probably should have handled his grievance in a more professional manner, but you know what? I'm kinda glad he stuck it to Vince McMahon like this. I don't think either side has been really "right" in their handling of this fallout, but I have a much easier time taking up Steve Williams (Austin) 's side than Vince McMahon's.

Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted July 13, 2002 Report Posted July 13, 2002 Then if and when Austin goes to NWATNA, who would want to watch a quiiter/wife beater? I don't know about the quitter part, but people like watching Rock and he beat women, too. Those are my exact thoughts on the entire situation.

I don't know about the quitter part, but people like watching Rock and he beat women, too. Rock is essentially a quitter as well, since he seems to be "COMING BACK!" at least once or twice a year. It's gotten old enough to the point where it won't even pop the ratings anymore.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted July 13, 2002 Report Posted July 13, 2002 I could see why Vince is "Buring" Austin if he left to go to an other Federation. But, since Austin is under Contract I don't see the point. Even though, Austin does Deserve it, IMO.
