GNR was good, but I don't think they were that good. Sure appetite was a killer album, UYI was ok, but I think they went downhill. Am I the only person here that hates "November Rain"?

I didn't care much for November Rain either. Of all their 7-minute+ songs, I liked Estranged & Coma the best.

"You can look at guys like Hendrix, Cobain, Morisson...and they left at the top...but you'll always wonder what else they could have done."

It'll be nice, (not cobain though), but it'll ruin there legacy that they had.

As for GNR myself. So much talent in the band, but I never liked Axl singing, and that's why I'm not that big of a fan of them (Though I think Paradise City is better than November Rain).

As for Metallica against GNR, thats hard as it is. While Metallica had a better Rythem Guitarist, and Bassist (Jason is good, but he doesn't get notice, because people compair him to Cliff), but Slash completly blows Hammett out of the water, GNR had the better drummer (who isn't better than Lars?). Its just preferance

In the Metallica vs. Guns 'N Roses argument... I think it's pretty obvious unless your name is Shaved Bear. Just kidding dude, everyone is free to have their own opinion, but I've always been a GNR fan. Few people seem to realize how great of a guitarist Slash really was, so I'll make a statement everyone can agree with - Slash was the greatest guitarist of the '80s (OK, he ties with Eddie Van Halen, but Van Halen started in '78 so he "doesn't count"). Miles ahead of all the other "hard rock" of the decade (which was and still is enjoyable but in retrospect VERY trashy and "guilty pleasure"), it's sad that GNR combusted but, like all short-lived bands, probably appropriate and for the best. I didn't like "Oh My God" much at all.

Now, for a related question - how is Slash's Snakepit? I've never heard any of that material. How does it compare to Slash's work in GNR?

Just thing GNR Lite (being no Axl) you can download some tracks from Kazaa.

Man, for every post that kisses the GnR's ass, the more I despise them. I'm starting to lean towards Man in Black's perspective here.

I guess I've got a real love hate relationship with this band (specifically Axl).

I always figured it was from his dad molesting him as a child.. *shrugs*

But, his voice made the band UNIQUE, damnit!
