Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted July 16, 2002 I agree with the guy who said Bischoff made no sense when the guy he could never sign was TRIPLE H?? Didn't he mean The Rock? I kind of figured HHH was a swerve, but The Rock was really what the tease was about.
Guest AM The Kid Report post Posted July 16, 2002 I was wracking my brain last night trying to figure out who the GM would be for RAW... Shane? Steph? Dusty?! Austin? Bis....ohhhh! I'm really happy he's on the show, maybe they can actually use the roster split and use Raw and Smackdown fighting eachother for ratings, wrestlers, everything. Bischoff can work, I just hope the bookers have finnally pulled their heads out of their asses.
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Yaaawn. The Markout Magic has worn off on you guys and you're all just slamming again. This thread was going on good for a bit. erm...what "Markout Magic"? Bischoffs a dick.
Guest AM The Kid Report post Posted July 16, 2002 No, you are a dick! NO YOU! YOU!
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted July 16, 2002 No, you are a dick! NO YOU! YOU! that was a bit harsh. I only said i didn't markout over Bischoff because he is a dick. A dick who held down a lot of youngsters so he could push his buddies, a dick who thought putting KISS on Nitro was a good idea, a dick who helped put WCW out of buissiness, and a dick who has done nothing to deserve the spot that he currently has. The only good thing that will come of this, is when the ratings don't improve and McMahon (and/or the many others who don't like him Heyman,Y2J,Flair etc.) decides to publicly humiliate Bischoff at every opportunity, for all that was said and done during the Monday Night Wars. Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Last time I checked in the Monday Night War era, WCW was the only one of the two that had a Cruiser division (ECW, due to it's size, kind of lumped everyone together, I imagine.) Bisch has done a lot of dickheaded things before (firing Davey Boy via a FedEx to the hospital) but that's why he's not running this company.
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted July 16, 2002 ECW brought all the cruisers over, then Bischoff stole them all, but yeah WCW had a super cruiserweight division.
Guest mickberna Report post Posted July 16, 2002 I don't know what everyone is losing their minds about. He's in the WWE as an actor. That's about it. He's working on too much other crap to worry about booking Raw, so don't expect any real Bischoff-esque angles.
Guest AM The Kid Report post Posted July 16, 2002 It was a joke...
Guest jester Report post Posted July 16, 2002 What worries me is not the angle, but the underlying attitude. They could have built an angle around, I dunno, "Maven would have saved WCW if he'd been around" if they really want to. So their ignoring of the fact that HHH was already in WCW once and the fact that he was not a big name when they would have needed a big name most doesn't bother me. What does bother me is this attitude they seem to have, which is "Triple H is the top guy of our whole outfit!" It looks to me that they either 1. believe that; and/or 2. want us to believe it. Triple H is not that exciting. A lot has to change about him before he gets anything close to reaction like The Rock or Austin. Yeah, I'm a hhhater, I'm biased, I believe everything the dirt sheets tell me, blah blah blah. jester
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted July 16, 2002 When Vince's intern chick first said that "He" was at the airport or whatever, my first thought was, "Oh shit, it's Shane McMahon." Then when Shane showed up and said the new GM would screw the McMahons at every turn, I thought, "Oh shit, it's Bret Hart." Then when I saw Eric Bischoff, I just thought, "Oh shit." I guess Bischoff was an OK choice, but you know what would really rule? NO MORE OWNERS/GMs/COMMISSIONERS on TV! Seriously, why do we always need to have the "Boss" on wrestling TV? Things were fine back in the day when no one knew who was the owner, and Jack Tunney/Gorilla Monsoon/JJ Dillon only showed up every now and then to make matches or answer controversial situations (Lex/Bret both going over the rope, the Iron Man tie). Why the need for all the on-air authority figures?

Guest Michael Joel Benoit Report post Posted July 17, 2002 Redhawk, commissioners, Gm's, owners could work whose name is not McMahon. Remeber when Shawn Micheals was the commish. First, when apart of the corporation, he appeared to screw the faces at every turn. Then, by himself, he only showed up to make important annoucements. And remember Foley as commish? That was fun! So, it could work out.
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted July 17, 2002 I am going to post something that hopefully doesn't get me flamed too much. Commisioner/GM/Owner/CEO/VP's don't draw money. Not even Foley. Foley just did his role more entertainingly than anyone else, but he did not draw. He was not the focal point of house shows or tv. He just pushed storylines. Just like all the other Commisioner/GM/Owner/CEO/VP's before him. Vince was over in his evil owner role, but he didn't draw. Austin was the draw.
Guest M Nyland Report post Posted July 17, 2002 Yeah...they don't draw...but don't we want storylines to be pushed in a way that makes the wrestlers into draws.... I think if Bisch can make me care about a match between two people I don't want to see then he is doing a good job... and like I said... *sees Bisch on WWETV...marks out...tears quad* *sees Steph on WWETV...ANTI-marks out...quad repairs itself* ...damn her. I am actually curious to see how the Bischoff thing plays out and so I WANT TO WATCH...that is also something the WWE wants... most of us have interest with what will happen with the GMs...if nothing else but for a week or two... Guest Redhawk Report post Posted July 17, 2002 My main gripe with on-air authority figures is that -- in the last few years -- it ALWAYS leads to them having matches. Main event matches. Matches that waste talent that could have been used better. Remember Booker T/Shane vs. The Rock? Vince vs. Austin? Stephanie fighting for the Undisputed Title? Back in the day, Gorilla Monsoon and Jack Tunney never got so involved in important storylines, nor did they take time away from the wrestlers. The McMahons and Bischoffs and their 20-minute promos are taking time away from wrestlers.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Report post Posted July 17, 2002 You know, with all this talk about Bischoff wanting to sign HHH to WCW, I thought he was talking about Undertaker. He wanted to get HHH and Rock from Smackdown, yes, but when he was talking to Taker in the back, he said something like "You were the guy I always wanted, but I guess loyalty was more important than money." Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted July 18, 2002 Minor Spoiler for Smackdown, but Bischoff is going to be on this weeks Confidential.
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted July 19, 2002 I don't think Bischoff thinks any of them would've saved WCW - he's playing a character, and all he was doing was sucking up to the mainstays in character. Shmoozing up to HHH, The Rock, and Taker, because he is, after all, the slimy heel (I think).

Guest The Son of Sting Report post Posted July 21, 2002 The thing that bothers me is that the Oberserver this week said Eric is on a short term contract (to me that says 3-6 months). Doesnt this show that Vince hasnt faith in Bischoff to succed as a character. Have some faith in him, other wise he will fail.
Guest notJames Report post Posted July 21, 2002 Jeez, go away for a week and look what happens... 6 hours of taped wrestling shows and I'm still not convinced Easy E is the answer. Especially if it ends up with him wrestling. And for god's sake, keep him away from Flair. Flair doesn't deserve this kind of treatment. At least one good thing came out of it... no more nWold. Of course, now we get a renewed singles push for the Big Show, at the expense of Booker T. Ugh. So, who won the "Stephanie is back" pool?
