Only read a little bit (promos and the Hide-And-Go-Seek match), but it seems like another good show. We seem to be having a lot of them lately.

Second verse, same as the first: I too haven't read everything, but here are my initial thoughts before SLEEP.

First, the one match I've read: JD's hide and seek match. OUCH. JD takes the joke match and makes it both funny and sadistic. The irony of the entire toilet bowl sequences is pitch-perfect...everyone read it and see what I mean. One of the most clever matches I've seen here, and I don't mean just funny: it was written smartly, and all the crazy stuff made great sense. Mega (Y) at the Exploding Chicken cameo, and bar-room brawl that even tops the Munich one that set the standard about a year ago. Poor Ash...the taste of urinal cake will be on the mouth for a while.

Promos up and down, all over the show, and that's great. The opening was awesome--written by TNT, I believe--and nailed Edwin perfectly. I wrote another Doctor Z vignette by popular demand and continued my foreshadowing trend of late (I'm getting good at that, aren't I?) Strangler's promo about his motivations gave him a lot more direction than he previously had, establishing him as a real unique identity amidst the Seven. Ash's was a good setup for the match...too bad JD managed to fizzle the pay-off a bit with his win. The Tod/LDP confrontation was short, but still has me guessing as to what's gonna happen on Smarkdown.

(Sidenote: How cool are we? We've got two matches that were set up a week before they happen, and they're not even PPV? Damn, boyo!)

And, in what I think was the final promo of the night, unless I missed them, the M7 accomplish many things. Don't know who wrote it--Strangler would be my guess--but they successfully:

1) got Strangler over as an independent force

2) continued his feud with Erek Taylor

3) gave TNT and Frost some more cred as a fighting unit. Bravo to whoever pulled this promo off.

That's all for now. Thoughts on the matches in the morning in a shocking change of pace. The really-damn-good-and-multi-layered shows trend continues, and we are in a bit of a boom, folks. Here here.

I agree, I thought Jay Dawg's match was excellent. It kept me reading until the very end, and yes I do feel for Ash. I don't think i could pull off a match with a special stip like that, but Jay Dawg seemed to make it work like a charm!

Frost wrote a very fast paced match with Mercury that I enjoyed reading. The pace was good and kept both men looking competitive the whole time.

Those are the only matches I've read, but I did go through all of the promos. I thought Strangler's promo about his seperation from the clan was really nice and gave his character some depth. The Carnies licking their wounds from the brutal opening beating seemed like something that really needed to happen. These two promos were a joy to read and meshed together very well. Tod and LDP did a good job setting up their rematch, which I am looking forward to reading. And finally, the last promo was a good way to set up Strangler and Taylor. Mag 7 is looking very tough, but maybe they are spreading their wings out a little too wide! Thus far, excellent show!

OK, time for Strangler's COMMENTS OF EVERLASTING SUFFERING! Or constructive criticism. It all depends on how thick-skinned you are.

- Opening promo was great. TNT wrote it, as I had a lot on my plate, and I was very impressed by the work he did. He nailed all the characters, especially Edwin. I've got to hand it to the guy. He did a great job.

- Frost had a solid match against Merc. Hopefully this'll get him back on that winning track, and give him some confidence.

- Edwin and teh boys getting serious? WUZUPWITDAT? But seriously, this is leading up to something big, and I like where it's going.

- Tod still wants to join XF9. It'll be interesting to see what happens on Storm, since Pete already beat him once.

- Lerrin looked pretty impressive in his first match against Xero. Hopefully he and JD can bolster the tag division.

- I figured I might as well explain why I dislike the Clan, and why I disappeared from storylines for a few months, so I wrote up that promo. It does help to give me some direction, which is always a good thing.

- Fallout and Flesher win ANOTHER tag match? What's the deal with this? Fallout's not supposed to win those things! Seriously, nice work by the Clan once again, who seem to be getting on a mini winning streak, and an advancement in the feud between ELM and Flesher.

- Ash sends Misty to the Carnies for protection. Wait....doesn't Ash have a stable of his own? Why couldn't XF9 protect her? Wow, Ash sure has a lot of confidence in his buddies. Erek, LDP, I would be offended if I were you.

- JD beats Ash in the hardcore brawl, which is the match of the night. I gotta say that I was thoroughly entertained by this one. Eating the urinal cake was absolutely hilarious, and the last two lines were by far the best of the night.

- Thoth and Stryke tangle, with Thoth winning, and then drawing a match against me for the #1 contendership. That match oughta be interesting.

- Erek Taylor gives the living snot beaten out of him by TNT and Frost. I liked this promo, although it was SUPPOSED to go up last show. However, it got lost in the shuffle, so it was re-written, and Taylor got destroyed as he should.

- Can't say I'm surprised I lost this match. I was facing Edwin and Nekura. Maybe I'll have more luck against Thoth on Storm. As for Edwin, I thoroughly enjoyed his match, and there was, surprise surprise, lots of M7 interference.

Overall, it was a quality show. Hopefully this'll keep up, and we'll keep going strong to the PPV. Things can only get better when Wilson gets back from vacation, but until then, we'll keep the ball rolling. Good luck to TNT and Frost on Storm.

No soup for Ash!!!

EDIT: No spamming for me so I'll just do whatevers.

JD= God!

Edwin= God! To add a little bit more, I've always set your matches as the standards for me. Kudos, there.

Stripper= I will get you back on Storm, you big hooker.

Thoth= God! If you ask me, IMO, I think he and Edwin are so alike in writing levels. So he gets an extra Kudos.

And back to that Ash thing...

What the hell? Not even all the people whose matches won have commented on the show...at this rate, it looks like 8 people even glanced at the show to find out the results. Come on, people. Do you care or not?

I got through the matches now, and all-in-all, a pretty solid outing. Again, Frost does a lot with not too many words, and he rebounds nicely from the hardcore title loss to JD. The Breggan match is a close second to JD's for my favorite of the night: the character is new, fresh, and wrestles a really aggressive power style. Quite a solid "debut" match, with some excellent commentary too. If Raynor and I can retain against the M7, I think Creative Control is gonna be lining up to kick our collective ass.

Flesher and Fallout pull out another solid tag match, though it's too bad the Carnival match got lost in the miscommunication. Holding us down, dammit! Annnnyway, I think I've hit on what I really like about the Flesher/Fallout team: the commentary is perfect. Totally efficient: they say in 4 lines totaling maybe 30 or 40 words everything we need to hear. This leaves a ton of room for great tech wrestling, which is what Fallout and Flesher are both really good at. Here's another unlikely tag team with some definite long-term potential. Like last week's Clan victory, the ending seemed a little rushed with finishers-a-go-go, but everything leading up was gold. ELM/Flesher is going to be a helluva match, if it does in fact happen.

Just a sidenote now, another thought I had: the Tod/XF9 thing is really interesting. I have a feeling that we won't see it end on Storm, just because we're so close to a PPV, and there seems to be a lot more under the surface here. I'm really excited about this storyline.

I already talked about JD's brilliant brawl, so onto Thoth/Stryke. It was odd seeing Thoth written as off his game a bit and distracted, since he's usually such an on-the-ball character, but I thought that more humanizing aspect of the match, plus the M7 beatdown at the end, both really helped work on Thoth's slow-burn face turn. I'm enjoying this whole turn: it hasn't been the typical SWERVE~! turn, and Thoth's character is evolving gradually rather than just jumping.

The main event is the next match, and phew, I pulled it out. Reading over it again, I could have done a lot to make it better, but I still like it, especially the double-team spots I thought up for Spider and Edwin. All I need now is an excuse to use the two-man handspring back elbow every match, and I'm in like Flint.

So, that's my say. Come on, people. We've got some of the most interesting storylines and character arcs we've ever had going on right now, and not even a third of our community has anything to say about it? I doubt that!

Top to bottom

TNT and Frost getting the tag title shot like Edwin predicted... the Carnival get there asses kicked, worse then the little Limp Bizkit bastards! But by TNT and the M7... BOO!!!

Frost vs. Mercury

- Frost bounces back from my painful beatdown to get the win over Mercury... where are your bandages slut!?

-Edwin and the Carnival have enough of groups kicking their ass... why didn't they say that when Da Pound did it!?

Tod and LDP to go at it on Storm... I think Toddy should go heel!LDP is holding him back!1!

My main dawg and tag partner gets the duke against Xero

Blarg... Stranglawhore thinks he ownz Spider... Spider ownz him yo!

Carnival vs. Clan

I was disappointed that the Carnival didn't get there match in, the Clan did an awesome job though.

Ash makes reference to me being a meany, muah ha!

I honestly didn't read that last rule bringing the belt to the ring... I was actually questioning it, because that's how the other match went. :(

Thoth vs. Stryke

Chris Raynor helps the Clan battle off M7... BONG!

Erek gets his ass kicked!

Edwin MacPhisto vs. The Boston Strangler vs. Spider Nekura

Damn you people are whores!

Edwin writes another beautiful match, where he gets Spider over as a crazy mofo, and that dirty slut known as the Boston Strangler seem like one scary mudda fucka!

Other then that... in the Hide and Seek Match... there was an assload of inside jokes, INCLUDING the strippers name. Those who can find out that specific joke, and many of the other jokes, will get a hardcore title shot.

Oh, yeah, a few other things.

The main event rocked the party that rocked the body. I mark for Edwin's commentary-"Oh, enough of this bloody talking!"- and I thought he wrote Spider's character very well.

Fallout wins another tag match. In other news, the sky is reported to be falling in parts of the Midwest. Film at eleven.

M7 and the Clanival(Yes, I said it. SOMEBODY had to say it eventually.) are developing nicely towards the PPV.

Kudos for LDP and Tod DeKindes for having an interesting angle that doesn't involve the World title. Duplicate kudos to ELM and Flesher.

And that. Is it.

Xero vs. Lerrin match in depth-analysis

rating: **3/4

The story is a simple one. Big strong man vs. small fast man. This story is set up beautifully in the opening moments of the match. Lerrin tries a charge, but Xero is to fast and gets out of the way. Than Xero attempts a flying cross body but Lerrin coutners with his power. Perhaps foreshadowing the matches theme, that power will defeat speed.

The rookie gets a bit cocky with the relative ease he has in overpowering the vet, but gets carelss and gets caught in the mouth with a kick. This wakes Lerrin up(its wipes the cocky grin off his face), and he realizes he's in for a fight. He levels Xero with a lariat, and busts out the second big move of the night. The corkscrew suplex.

Xero makes a few ill fated comeback attempts, but Lerrin stops them with his power. Lerrin tries to finish Xero with a Powerbomb but it's countered to a Huricanrna. That puts both men down. Heres my first problem with the match. Why would a takedown move, knock out a monster like Lerrin. Than a 199 pound junoir(with little natural power a 2 I think) gives a vertical suplex to a 300 pounder. Than Xero actually tries to slow things down by going for a submission, right after finally gaining some offensive momentum. Why would he do that? Very odd comeback sequence.

However Lerrin powers out, and regains the momentum with an Exploder. He than slows things down with a Full Nelson. Which makes much more sense. Since he is the big man, and of course he wants to keep Xero grounded and undercontrol.

Xero makes a comeback with a low blow. Maybe it's an act of desperation from someone who is hanging on by a thread, or they were to lazy to come up with a better transition spot. Xero than hits the Frog Splash, but is to hurt to make the cover in time. Brilliant spot. If only Xero's Frog Splash was a credable finisher. Good in theory though.

Next Lerrin shows how bad ass he is by kicking out of one of Xero's finishers with ease. Very nice. This is the figurative backbreaker for poor Xero. Than the literal one, as Lerrin completely no sells the finisher by hopping up to his feet and kills Xero with a gore. Lerrin finishes with the Vertebreaker, to further the punishment on Xero's spine.

Overall, the match is very brilliant at times. But Xero's poorly constructed comeback sequence midway, killed it for me. The ending also relied to much on no selling for my taste(all you needed was Lerrin pointing the finger in Xero's face). For the most part it was a glorified squash job, but considering Lerrin's character and it being his debut. It was a very apporiate squash.

I like Carnivan. Reminds me of a bus. Yeah, I know.

The hide and seek match was actually really funny. I've read it twice, fully through. Once for full effect, and once for laughs.

Fallout needs to promo more. I mean, really. He could be so much higher on the card, IMO, but he needs to develop his character. Did you know he has strangely colored hair? I bet not.

And I'm interested in the TBS-Taylor feud, believe it or not. Two VERY underrated writers, IMO. Especially Taylor, who is near Edwin-like ability.

Excellent show as always.

I am dissapointed with my loss, and I thought I put good effort into my match, but JD did a great job. He's getting better everyday.

And sorry about not including Erek and Pete in my match and promo... mainly, I've been so used to working solo now that it slipped my mind. Silly me. ^_^

All in all an excellent show. The "n00bs" continue to impress me, especially TNT.
