Guest jm29195 Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 X Pac did also co-main event a ppv in 1998 in London against the Rock for the title. He had incredible face heat and lost by dq when HHH ran in....
Guest Brian Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 "Wrestling as the Lightning Kid down in Texas for Global on ESPN he did not suck. The wrestling "smarks" back then held him in the same regard as people do Chris Benoit or Eddy Gureuro today." Not in the same light, but what X-Pac was doing with Lynn was mainly revolutionary for the time considering it hadn't really picked up in WCW with Liger and Pillman (and Owen to some extent), so what they were doing is largely revolutionary. Lynn was, and still deservingly does, gets more praise in the same light as Bennoit and Guerrero. I compare them to American Dragon and Low ki in that they are slowly setting the stage for the indie style to change, but they might not be part of the real shift, just as X-Pac and Lynn were wrestling in an era of brawling with Foley at the forefront. But back to the original point, X-Pac was great bumper and flyer who would sarifice his body to have a good match while Lynn just harnessed that and pulled it all together in a string of really good matches. This really set up alot of good carry-jobs in the same nature: notably Naniwa and the fruition of everything, RVD, where despite a ton of flaws, he brought out a ton of upside (though he couldn't eliminate all of them).
Guest gwf0704 Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Well he used to be good. But he's so damn lazy that I'm never entertained by anything he does in the ring lately. Plus through reading his interviews on WWF.com and hearing all the rumors about him he's got one of the largest ego's and biggest attitudes ever. What exactly do you mean by lazy??????? Is it that he does not want to work house shows??? Well everybody from Undertaker, HHH, Rock, Angle, Bradshaw etc.. etc... have gotten out of house shows for one reason or another. Is it his ring work??? Excuse me, but the last NWO tag match on Raw with NWO/Benoit/Guerrero X-Pac was the one member who was in the ring the most, got the most moves put on him, and sold more of the other teams moves than his partners. If by lazy you mean he doesn't take any more flying bumps or does many high flying moves anymore, well the man does have a previous neck injury. If you remember, SCSA did not want any more head shots like piledrivers, tombstones and last rides, even DDT's since his neck injury, so if the man is reluctant to do some moves its due to injuyr. It sounds more like it was just another Smark not having anything original to say and just said what is noramaly said about X-Pac, just like HHH = glass ceiling, Hogan = taking up a roster spot, Benoit = god.
