Guest BoboBrazil Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 Steph will certainly take credit if the rating is high. Hopefully the show does a 3.0 to make Vince panic even more.
Guest jester Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 I'm going to make an enormous leap of faith and be willing to give this whole setup a chance if it doesn't interfere with Booker and RVD getting pushed. My real worry is that both shows will turn into an HHH "Gosh you're so great everyone in the company isn't fit to wipeyour ass" fest. A bidding war for the Rock makes sense. A bidding war for Triple ZZZ doesn't. jester
Guest BoboBrazil Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 A bidding war over Rock wouldn't make sense either, considering he is going to be gone again after Summerslam. Like it or not, HHH is the biggest star they have right now.
Guest JHawk Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 A bidding war over Rock wouldn't make sense either, considering he is going to be gone again after Summerslam. Like it or not, HHH is the biggest star they have right now. Yep, and those deafening crowd reactions during Triple H's matches would certainly concur with that too. Christ, people popped more for Brock giving Taker the F5 on Raw than they have for anything after Hunter's water spitting thing in six months. He's only the biggest star they've got because he's the one we're getting rammed down our throats. He's injured and getting more air time than half the roster!
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 "A bidding war over Rock wouldn't make sense either, considering he is going to be gone again after Summerslam." 1. No one has confirmed that, it's just speculation from the dirtsheets. For all anyone knows, Vince might have cut a deal with the movie companies to have the Rock on WWE once a week while they film other scenes or something. 2. Even if it is true, the crowds and most of the live audience don't know anything about it. For the time being, the Rock is the biggest star on WWE programming, and so they should treat him as such, not handcuff him because he won't be there long term.
Guest Big Poppa Popick Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 Officially, i am not watching Smackdown! until Stephanie is gone....again
Guest NoCalMike Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 Well Smackdown has the cruisers I guess. Heyman's booking is all that bad, ummm trying to find more reasons to watch Smackdown...*sleepy-getting-very-sleepy*
Guest GenerationNever Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 Give me anything besides Stephanie or HHH. ANYTHING. Even Vince foldling young women.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 We need to look on the bright side of things... Sure, Steph McJugs is back to annoy the hell out of us. Jericho jobs to the rookie. Taker interferes in the most promising match of the night and destroys everyone again. BUT........................................................... CHAVO WINS~! CHAVO WINS~! Too bad THAT push will be over when he loses to Rey next week.
Guest Goodear Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 Hulk Hogan, Edge, and Rikishi beat Christian, Test, and Lance Storm via Edge-o-cution on Storm. Jesus Christ... does 'Push the new squad' even enter into consideration at WWE?
Guest Goodear Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 Or if they HAVE to lose, Job Test. I'm even fine with that. They basically jobbed the leader of the faction, the new faction that needs some wins in order to generate heat. Why make it look like Edge and Uncle Hogie are just gonna waltz over Lance & Christian at the PPV? Its dumb.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 WHY, OH WHY do I get the feeling that all of a sudden we are supposed to forget that Steph and HHH were going to get a divorce just 3 months ago? I admit, I wouldn't hate HHH giving the Pedigree to Bischoff at Vengenace but damn, this whole situation stinks. Maybe HHH will pedigree Steph again and Join bischoff on RAW, but that would be too obvious and would make too much sense.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 I'm strongly considering telling my Tivo to not record SmackDown, except I know that I'm just a drop in a bucket ratings-wise and I got nothing else happening on Thursday nights. I await the day when Velocity gets higher numbers than SmackDown.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Knoble vs Kidman at Vengeance is the only new announced match. Jericho vs Cena doesn't look to be happening at Vengenance.
