Guest Ripper Report post Posted July 25, 2002 But in that light of thinking, lets thing about the "BODY SLAM OF DOOM" that sets up the top rope elbows. The guy stays down for about 30 seconds after a body slam...why go up...just pin him, he wasn't going to move for about 30 seconds anyway. Look, there is no logic in most finishers. Rock has a _________ + Peoples Elbow= finish of the match. Be it the Rock Bottom, the SPine Buster...whatever, he does a legitimate move to set it up. The motions of the Elbow are still there to embarass the opponent, the move before that sorta finished them, the point of his elbow hitting the chest did the end. The worst case of unbelieveable finish belongs to Jushin Liger...dude does a million moves in a match, does a top rope brainbuster, and the guy will kick out. So what does he do to finish the match...a fucking palm strike...whut..D...fluck....
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Report post Posted July 25, 2002 Actually I would say Misawa's worse: Emerald Frozion, Tiger Suplex '85, Tiger Driver '91, but no I finish you with a running elbow?
Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted July 25, 2002 The difference there: Misawa kills somebody before elbowing them in the face.
Guest Brian Report post Posted July 26, 2002 I haven't seen the AJ matches in a while so I need a little refresher, but isn't part of it that said wrestler was afraid the other would kick out of the moves after taking the move so they use said credible strike to make sure they stay down for three. I may be thinking of different matches, but I'm pretty sure this applies. "His 'speech' was appropriate." No, why the speech was being critcized was not because Rock was gone but because Rock is totally protected. Who takes pay cuts? Who has to work more dates? Who gets to come back and forth whenever they feel? Heck, like HHH who is being allowed to miss house show dates (while filming)? Rock talks like he's there all the time, like he suffers with the other guys, but he doesn't. That is the point. I think Rock's been in a more fortunate position because Benoit/Angle's matches weren't generic WWE style and Angle showed alot of green during that set, because he was out of popsition in allowing the match to unfold. Look at how much he stalls. How winded he is. How lost he seems at times. I like Angle and all but he was out of place in comparison.
