Attacking Iraq...

Recommended Posts

Guest Invader3k

With all the constant press lately about the government's plans to attack Iraq and try to oust Saddam Hussein, I was wondering what people here are thinking about the possible re-invasion of Iraq.

Personally I'm in favor of it. It's time we send a message to the corrupt regimes of the Arab world that we're not going to sit by and watch them mistreat their own people, and then blame us for all their problems.

So what if we can't get support from any other countries? As long as we have Britain and a few other civilized nations along with us, we'll be fine.

Long past time to take that fucker out. Who needs Britain or anyone else? We can do the job all by ourselves within six weeks.

Oh, and if someone doesn't like it - declare war. Go on. You want a holy war, go right the fuck ahead and start one. Or send terrorists after us. I hear that works really well.

We??? Are you in the military? I don't think so.
No. I'm the little girl who tells the generals where to point the guns, honey.

I should have some say so in this since I'm actually a member of US Army currently preparing for a deployment to Kuwait.
Ever heard of the chain of command?

Stop with all this war bullshit and fix our economy.
The economy is just fine. But if you're still shitting your pants about your daddy's 40K plan, I wouldn't mind hiring some people to produce a few million more JDAMs. There's a stimulus package for ya.

1. And in my spare time, I turn pathetic whiners like you into actual soldiers. One of my colleagues has obviously been a little lax.

2. Run that by me again. Since when was the Army a democracy? Do you take a vote on every military action? Have you run this concept by your sergeant? If you're actually a serviceman, how many times have you been ass-raped after your bitching and moaning sessions got the whole unit an extra twenty laps?

3. No, a penthouse, actually. Bin Laden and his cronies are the ones that have been living in caves, due to the fact that those colleagues of yours who DON'T whimper and snivel constantly kicked his ass when they were told to.

You're the most bleeding heart, unpatriotic soldier I've ever seen.

Let's go to war with Europe right now.
Might want to look up the difference between declaring war and having war declared on you, Sparky.

We, we, we. What the fuck are you talking about?
I think I was talking about the soldiers I actually respect. Those who aren't pissing their pants at the thought of a war of necessity. Those who love their country enough to die to defend it. Those who don't just parrot any old ideology, whoring their principles so long as it serves their own cowardice.

All clear now?

why didn't you singup?
Because, according to the government, my talents can serve the United States better at Quantico than in Kuwait.

You can't even begin questioning my patriotism.
Newsflash, Sparky: I think he just did. Pretty justifiably too, at least from this angle.

You don't know me. You can't even begin questioning my patriotism.

I can if you refuse to believe that EVERY American has the right to use "we" in regards to any American concern.

What can you say about yourself? Where will you be? You'll be watching me on CNN when this war starts (unfortunetly), and will post messages here "We're kicking ass". "Look what we're doing to them".

I'll be paying YOUR salary.

Amen.

it's funny reading crap like this from a "civilian".
Remind me, is the Secretary of Defense a civilian? The Secretary of State? The Vice President? The President? I wonder if their thinking is more in line with yours or mine... let's take a look, shall we?

President Bush: "Afghanistan is still just the beginning... If anybody harbors a terrorist, they're a terrorist. If they fund a terrorist, they're a terrorist. If they house terrorists, they're terrorists... I can't make it any more clear to other nations around the world: if they develop weapons of mass destruction that will be used to terrorize nations, they will be held accountable."

From a press briefing by Mr Fleischer: "Q. What is the President's rationale for invading Iraq?

A. Well, Helen... the President believes that the people of Iraq, as well as the region, will be more peaceful, better off without Saddam Hussein in charge of Iraq, given the fact that Saddam Hussein has invaded two of his neighbors... He's used chemical weapons against his own people. He has created conditions in Iraq that have been very difficult on the Iraqi people. I think there's no question that the people of Iraq and the region will be safer and freer and in more peace without Saddam Hussein at the helm."

Hmm, from whom do you take your orders again?

Yep. I said that he and I are thinking approximately the same things. You, on the other hand, sound like you're getting ready to commit treason.

And yes, Sparky, the President is at the top of your chain of command. That's how the United States government and the armed forces work. Might want to read up on it sometime...

Nice editing job. Makes your arguments ever so much more convincing...

It's amusing to see that you're as much of a coward online as you are offline.

The sooner we take Hussein out, the better. It's quickly coming up on eleven years too late, but better late than never, as the saying goes.

4Life, you've been flame-baiting since your first reply in this thread. Consider this your solitary warning to stop.

Well, it's an interesting thing to ponder. On one hand, they'd get rid of Saddam Insane for good, something they should've done a long time ago. On the other, Iraq apparently has an impressive nuclear arsenal on hand. I don't wanna see NYC get nuked. It really doesn't matter what we think, anyway, because Dubya's gonna do whatever he sees fit, and fuck us if we don't like it.

Um...why can't we fight a war and fix the economy at the same time?

Oops, there's that pesky "we" stuff popping up again.

Better yet, why not invade Iraq and take it over, pump the oil out of it for a few years, and then leave it when we're finally using alternative energy vehicles and transportation? Sounds good to me.
