Guest bob_barron Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 Just do Hogan v. Vince. I don't see why Hogan will leave like Bret and Austin since he's done everything he's been asked, has put over the younger guys and has been a good company man. Something Bret and Austin didnt do. Vince v. Hogan is such an easy match to book. Vince bops him with the lead pipe, beats him up for a couple minutes, Hulk Up, big boot, legdrop. The crowd will batshit and everyone will be happy. Next night Hogan can come out and give his retirement speech. I think having the superstars around the ring or on the outside would make it great. And that at the end cue Real American and have Hogan do some posing and walk to the back. That's how Hogan should go out.
Guest thebigjig Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 Honestly, I don't care how he goes out as long as we get one more... just ONE MORE interview with Hogan conducted by Mean Gene Okurland I would so mark out for that "Well you know somethin' Meeeeean Geeeene"
Guest BX-#general Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 They should have Hogan turn heel on the rock, leading up to a PPV in Detroit. There, The Rock and Hogan will have a Falls Count Anywhere match, which ends when Rock drags Hogan to a bridge and throws him off, never to be seen again.
Guest jester Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 I like the Hogan/Vince idea best, but here's something else to consider: does Hogan really WANT to retire? I'm not so sure he does. We've been hearing "Hogan retiring" crap for years. but he's getting the spotlight still, live crowds are still popping for him, and I doubt he wants to give that up. And maybe I'm being a hhhater here (the Hollywood Hulk Hogan version), but these stories of him behaving in the locker room and jobbing when told are good, but I'm not blown away by his "change in attitude." He must know that he's not the big dick around there anymore, and if he pulled any shit he'd get destroyed by the real locker room power. If he could get away with it, I think he'd be up to his old tricks again. God I'm cynical.
Guest bob_barron Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 Well Nash and X-Pac got away with stuff and they're nowhere near the level of Hogan

I don't know about that... if X-PAC, Kevin Nash and the other "supreme beings" in the WWE locker room have been getting away with backstage bs (before Nash's injury of course) then what makes you think Hulk Hogan of all people would be crucified for doing stuff like that?
Guest Coolclint Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 I like the Hogan-Vince idea, and the retirement speech the night after, but why not make him a manager? Take a young guy (say, John Cena), and make Hogan his "mentor". Hogan stays in the spotlight, doesn't wrestle, and helps get Cena over...plus if all else fails, Cena can turn on Hogan, Edge steps up, and there's a Cena-Edge feud.

Or hey, how about the Rocky V scenario... you know, Rocky becomes a manager to young rookie Tommy Gunn whom he guides towards the championship... but little by little Gunn gets jealous because he feels everyone knows him simply as "rocky's boy" always in Rocky's shadow. Then, the Don King like promoter, George Washington Duke gets in his ear and convinces him to dump Rocky and go wtih him which leads to Gunn winning the championship and everyone calling him a paper champion because he never beat Rocky, which leads to the street fight at the end of the movie... Actually, maybe that isn't such a good idea since it was a HORRIBLE movie, but honestly, I think that storyline with Hogan playing the Rocky part and some rooking playing the Gunn part would be pretty intriguing if played out correctly and given enough time to build... actually, if you wanted to make Edge a top tier performer as a heel, this would work perfectly
Guest TheHulkster Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 I would like to see Hogan Vs Lesnar at the Survivor Series for Hogan's last match, and here is why: We all know Brock is winning the belt at SummerSlam and keeping his undefeated streak alive. If all goes well with the plans, Brock would have destroyed Rocky and put his career in question thus gaining him a fair share of heat that he really needs right now. Lesnar can go on to beat Taker and whoever else at the PPV after, keeping the undefeated streak alive and well. He then can go on SD and Heyman can cut a big promo the day after No Mercy saying how nobody can defeat Brock Lesnar. Right in the middle of this promo, Voodoo Child hits and the crowd goes apeshit. Hogan can pull a Foley and say if he can't beat Lesnar for the title, he will retire. They can sell the fact that Hogan has beaten every monster he has ever faced, Lesnar's undefeated streak, and sell "what could possibly be" Hogan's final main event in the place where he won his first world title, Madison Square Garden. Hogan can come out in the Garden to Real American and they can go 30 minutes just on heat alone, no matter how poor the match is (On that note, if they have Pat Patterson script the whole thing, it should be a decent, maybe even great, match). You can pretty much be rest assured it will sell out and pop a decent buyrate and Hogan can leave on top of the card. Hogan jobs and gives one final posedown for the fans that made him, cuts a promo and walks away to a happy ending. Brock and Heyman can then talk about how Brock is the man who ended the career of Hulk Hogan, gaining pretty substantial heat. All parties win. Hogan goes out with his head held high and Lesnar gets a pretty big rub that would probably engrave him in the main event scene in the eyes of the fans. I know Brock being the man in the WWE isn't exactly a popular choice around these parts, but if they are going to do it, they might as well do it right.

That's just it. The Supreme Beings probably won't let him into to the inner circle. If the backstage stories are true, HHH has the power. If Hogan started acting too big for his pants, I don't think the new Supreme Beings would like it.
