Guest TheBostonStrangler Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 I look at it as a slightly harsher view of what I feel. Usually I add a half star or star to his match ratings (although the DUD matches are usually right on), I ignore a lot of what he says about the entertainment/skits, since I don't mind them at all, and I do think he's slightly harsh. But I'm a mark at heart, so I do enjoy seeing another perspective on the shows. I don't always agree with it, and he might make WAY too big a deal out of some of the smaller things, but a lot of his criticisms are on target. Personally, I think he's a good journalist who can entertain, but shouldn't be taken as gospel the way some people do.
Guest HartFan86 Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 Keith has his opinion. If he doesn't like the product, then he has the right. Quite frankly, I agree with most of the stuff he disagrees with. He has the right to complain as much as anyone else does. I'm a fan of his writings and I probably always will be.
Guest converge241 Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 "You gotta wonder when Keith is just finally going to give up his recapping job" like CRZ? when he saw Bischoff..or the other guy who quit MID RANT?
Guest notJames Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 "You gotta wonder when Keith is just finally going to give up his recapping job" like CRZ? when he saw Bischoff..or the other guy who quit MID RANT? I don't think SKeith would quit, as he's said numerous times he's a WW_ mark, plus I think he genuinely enjoys the product on some level. It's not like it's Thunder where there's absolutely no redeeming qualities. I just think it's easier for him to write in overly-cynical mode. If you notice, there's always some glimmer of hope in his writing. And it's never boring... if you like reading cynical stuff. If anything, it gets people talking about him. Right? BTW, who's the guy that quit mid-rant? And what was he ranting about?
Guest Vern Gagne Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 My biggest problem with Keith is his long rants about setting up his new computer, and some new DVD he just bought. Just start your negative rant and keep all the other stuff to the mail bag.
Guest Zero_Cool Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 Well, I know what you guys are saying. Maybe he has changed his outlook on WWE. Well, if you look at his rant archives from like 2000, with most diva things, he cheers on the diva things, hell, I think he gave Terri ***1/2 for her swimsuit in the Royal Rumble Swimsuit Competition. Now, everytime he sees Terri, it's always about how disgusting she is. She should gain some weight, btw. I guess he just looks for the bad in shows... The rants are good to read for entertainment.
Guest converge241 Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 i never really liked CRZ and havent been to OO lately so i was unaware that he was back still kinda funny the "other guy" was another onslaughter affiliate who i cant recall, poke around and the Rick'll direct ya
Guest notJames Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 CRZ comes up with the occasional gem, but you have to wade through all the über-transcribing, play-by-play, and running gags (WALKING!) to get to them. Luckily, I've been able to skim through his stuff to get to the meat. I miss John Petrie, though. His Slobberknocker reports were always concise and insightful. And he could be a mean son of a bitch when he needed to be.
Guest Narcoleptic Jumper Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 Are you people actually letting Scott Keith change your opinion of a show? If you do, that's pretty sad. If not... then why the hell are you bitching?
Guest Just call me Dan Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 I think we are just analyzing his work, in a positive or negative light. I can't stand when people like you just bust up in a conversation with your "holier than thou" attitude and act like your one liner will make us all slap our heads and say "Wow! we are so incredibly dumb for talking about this so unintelligent topic! Thanks Narcoleptic Jupiter!" I have a question for you, if you think this is stupid, why do you try and participate? Keith doesn't change my opinion of a show, but points out numerous things I never noticed because of his extreme cynicism.
Guest kingkamala Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 I will always like Keith's rants no matter how bad they get but I don't like them half as much as I did in 2000 when I waited and waited for his next rant. His rants lately are good at best but they still keep me entertained, I guess he doesn't have a passion towards wrestling as he used too
Guest Trivia247 Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 For me, I first got into this by reading SK's Tape reviews, I laughed my ass off reading the old PPVs ones... But lately its like SK just gave up with the WWF (e) and basically proclaims that its Shit, and no matter what they do to improve it, it shall remain shit. Its like every wrestler wheither it is HAKU or Hogan, or the Undertaker, If SK doesn't like the Wrestler No Amount of Singular Improvement they may do will matter because they are still who they are. Already know he is a Firm Taker Hater Sigh soo sad... But Who gonna credit 50 year old Hogan or Flair for that mattter who gets lifted up and Dropped in the F-5 like they were Sacks of Potatoes, Not SK evidently.
